I don't play FPS online, play COD for co-op/single player. I love playing Gears online thats essentially my multiplayer game.

Fired up the beta on Xbox One, blown away by how good it is.

Are player scores capped at 99? I've reached it a handful of times in attrition. I wonder if it's soft capped depending on the number of players on your team.

Last Titan Standing is clearly the best mode. Just because these stupid people keep rushing and falling for traps.

Hardpoint or classic Domination is cool too. Ultimately it has the same problems as every objective based mode. Some people are just too dumb to understand that you should not just go for kills in that mode.

So yeah for now I mainly stick to the default mode (can't remember the name) which is a lot of fun but hectic. There is so much going on for 6v6.

Best thing are the controls though. The One controller is god tier for shooters and they will fine tune this even more with an update to the controller to make it more precise? Oh my.

Is it me or the framerate really bad on XBO?
Also I suck so bad. Fun though.

I'm getting bad framerate on XBOX as well, seems okay at 60fps when indoors and when there's not alot of characters on screen, but once there's a few titans arrive, it gets very choppy. I think im going to try cold-booting my xbox, that's helped other games with performance issues for me

in any regard, if this is how this beta performs I really hope they can optimize it better for the retail release.

I think the controls are great, despite the controller's oddities. I feel like the sticks lack a degree of precision and are somewhat floaty. I have my sensitivity up to high, sometimes very high. I hope the update addresses these issues because the controller sits nicely in the hand and the analog sticks are of good make. It's a weird problem, but it's there for me.

Can anyone comment on performace on a Razer Blade 14''? GTX765M, quad i7-4702, 8GB

Been playing on that exact laptop since I got beta access on Thursday. With everything set to high and 4xAA I get around 45-60fps (45 average). Plays pretty good, but I hope newer drivers makes the experience smoother.

Which is the same thing Respawn complained to MS about and is apparently a software issue. Most likely has to do with the deadzone etc.

Should be part of the update that was delayed this week so I guess we will see next week if we notice any changes.

Not a huge FPS player anymore, but this looks like it will replace CoD for me. I am only really interest in the Treyach games and only multiplayer but I think I'll just bail on the franchise completely now.

If anyone's having trouble with freezing or severe stuttering on PC, try lowering the texture setting. 'Insane' was causing issues on my machine and changing it to the 'High' settings completely cured them.

This thing is an unoptimized PC mess, ain't it?

Apart from the above issue (which isn't really an optimization issue I guess), the game seems to perform fine. Not perhaps as well as it maybe could but it does perform fine.

First time really playing a proper multiplayer online.

I'm crap but still having fun cause each small victory is BIG to me :)

The fact I ain't being sniped from across the map is good too.

I was skeptical, I really was. And I am still not crazy about the easy to kill grunts running around, I feel they cheapen kills.

That said, after finally getting into the beta and playing a few rounds, this game is AMAZING. It got me excited for a first person shooter in a way I have only felt a few times ever in my life.

Ranks right up there with my first time playing Halo, Call of Duty 4, and Battlefield BC2 (no idea why that particular installment I fell in love with, but I did).

Those evil bastards over at EA are gonna get my $60 next month, assuming I hear that the game is working (I can hold off for a couple days to see, fortunately I have some self control).

I don't like to use the term "COD Killer", but if there ever was going to be a COD Killer, it's this. Wow, just amazing sublime gameplay. I was a skeptic before but no more.

This game is pure epic! Played for an hour now and I have the feeling like every second something is happening. Can't wait for the final game!

Played my first round. Damn it's fun. It's like CoD on speed with wall running and mechs. The game runs great too on my quite modest rig. I'll probably pre-order this if it keeps being this exciting during the rest of the beta.

Strangely for me, it is the menus that chug. Once I am in game, it mostly stays at 60 frames with occasional drops but never goes below about 40-45. All settings maxed, except I have AA set to only 2x instead of 4x.

I am seeing a lot of people reporting issues with Nvidia cards. Could it be because the Xbox One runs AMD parts that this game on PC does better with AMD cards? For example my friend is having trouble with his GTX 670, which is a much more powerful card than my Radeon 7850. And like I said, other than the occasional slow menu screen, the game is mostly buttery for me.

Unless people with AMD cards are also having issues and I just haven't noticed.

Anyone else getting framerate drops on maximum settings? I'm able to play all recent games maximum at 60fps, is it the game or is it me?

Seems like everyone is getting codes lol, I applied for pc and Xbox One and have yet to receive anything in my mailbox.

Will there be another beta before march?

They hype is real folks. One of the most fun experiences I've had in a long time with a video game.

Yep, same thing my friends keep telling me. I still haven't played this one for myself, but the gameplay videos, especially ones with people that know how to use a pilot's abilities, have really done a pretty convincing job showing me how fun this one will be.

I'm on a 7870, will report performance when the game's finally done unpacking the audio.

I'm bummed by the framerate.

The game is ugly anyways, why have it at 792p if that's the price? Just drop it to 720p and be done with it. I'm scared of the attempt at reaching 900p.

"framerate is king." You said this, Respawn.

Everything else is super fun, but the framerate is starting to affect my enjoyment in the most crucial hectic moments.

Played for about 2 hours and I have to say this game is something else. The wall running and double jumping is really fun and easy to use.

Framerate does drop a little bit on Xbox when the action gets heavy but its nothing you can't handle. I see myself spending a long time with this game.

No. You could get yours on the 17th. I believe the beta runs until 24th so there is still plenty of time then.

I think codes were stopped after they had issues this morning. Looks like they'll start again soon though.

Looks like the issue has been resolved, code e-mails should start up again!

Is it possible to get the Stryder in the beta? I'm guessing as a burn card? I've already gotten the Ogre before.

I would like impressions from a battlefield fan. I dont play cod anymore, even though i use to enjoy it. How does it feel coming over from BF4 to this? only reason i ask is cause i personally stopped enjoying COD after i got into the battlefield series with BF3.

Wow. Really impressed with my first session.

First and foremost, the movement is the first thing that will be noticed(obviously). The game controls wonderfully, making it very simple to wallrun and jump around--it's not hard at all to bounce back and forth to get up a building, yet there is a ton of on the fly player decisions to get around. But it also impacts combat, especially when I was using the smart pistol, wallrunning while locking on and taking dudes out. It's very satisfying.

Of course, it takes more than just the mechanics of moving, and the 2 maps in the beta are designed really well to take advantage of this. Giving ample room for pilot maneuvering, titan fights in the streets, titan on pilot combat...there's a lot they had to keep in mind and if they keep up the quality for the rest of the maps it'll be fantastic.

Core shooting does feel very much like CoD, though the time to kill is a bit longer. Haven't tried the shotgun yet, just been using the carbine and smart pistol. The smart pistol is really damn fun and lets you rack up a ton of bot kills, but I don't think it's overpowered at all. It takes a pretty long time to actually get a triple lock on actual players, and that's without them moving around much. In a straight heads on fight, you will be outgunned. In a scenario where you're moving around trying to lock and they're not hitting, then you earned that kill. Trying to sneak around also can work, but you can't just mindlessly run around in cloak as it's pretty easy to see when you're not in a titan.

Oh, right, titans! I've been having really high survivability in them so far, typically getting the damage core each time I use one, though I play them VERY aggressively. I melee a lot as it's a strong counter to the vortex shield, and it adds a fun dynamic when you do go into doomed state in the thick of action, trying to make something happen after the ejection. But beyond that there is something empowering when you have a moment like I did in a match earlier, where I just had a 1v1 fight, won, then turned around to head towards the dropship that was going to come and I saw my entire team were all in Titans. We all stuck together as one big clump of death.

There is constant action happening, keeping you busy at all times. Moving around, taking out clumps of AI, or having a fun dance around fighting actual players and bots at the same time.

I haven't had as much fun with an MP game in awhile compared to what I just experienced. Excited to jump back in for more later.

Played one match and it did a good job of convincing me to get this, however there are some major connection issues.

I have a 660 Ti and running it at 2048x1152, 4XAA, everything else on high and am getting 60 fps.
