Xbox One price cut to £399 in the UK, includes free copy of Titanfall

They couldn't give a shit about the early adopters, their actions prove it. Never again.

It's a bad idea to fuck over your most loyal fans. While Nintendo's 3DS price cut was huge, at least they were wise enough to offer digital recompense for early adopters. MS should at least offer credit or vouchers for free digital games to early adopters. Hell, they could probably get sales figures of LocoCyle to a couple of million if they distribute free codes for it.

Microsoft were insane for releasing it at £429 in the first place, I was slightly shocked when it was announced. They should have learnt from Sony's mistake with the PS3 and took the £30 hit to keep it under £400.

Anyway this is a smart move and better late than never even if it does look a little embarrassing having to cut the price just 3 months after launch.

80 million 360s sold =/= 80 million active 360 userbase. (same applies to PS3 as well)

There's too many variables for those without access to the metrics and accounting books to know how it works. Besides, you thinking it's more likely PS3 owners jumping ship to PS4 is also conjecture.

Your points have as much holes in them as Skeff's.

Yes so lets guess the active install base shall we? no. All we have to go on is how many consoles sold, only 5 - 20% of the userbase actually buys any one game.

I would think it was common sense that PS4 is more attractive to PS3 owners than 360, given that's where their friends are likely go, and has the first party exclusives they like, controller ect ... if you wanna say differently good for you, I don't believe it. It's also your 'conjecture' that 360 owners are moving to PS4. Don't be a hypocrite now.

They would never do it, but they should be giving out Titanfall to early adopters too, after all they're giving it away with this bundle. Things like the awful LocoCycle isn't going to win people over.

It's my own fault. I didn't pre order and waited for the store to get the next batch which didn't include FIFA or Forza. I blame myself more than anything although I find the interview with the UK guy to be a load of shit. If it was selling well there would be no reason to cut price.

I wasn't partaking in the guessing game, so how am I a hypocrite?

My point is both of you could go on & on, and you're only digging a deeper hole for both of you since then you'd have to go to the guessing game of install base, attach rate, paying subs, transfer, etc.

Maybe I wasn't clear, and this is a rude way of putting it, but I don't think you and Skeff are going anywhere with your discussion.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.
You have to applaud Microsoft for one thing: they react quickly, unlike some other gaming companies. That's a good thing.

"But moving forwards if you think about what I think are the three hottest games of the year to come, Titanfall, Watch Dogs and Destiny, the only place you're going to be able to play all three of those games is on Xbox One"

What a tragic thing to say

I'd be down for this. I'm all honesty, though, I wouldn't expect any such "ambassador program" from Microsoft. I knew the risks of buying a console on launch day. So in the end I paid $60 more than I would have had I waited three months... I think $20 a month is worth the enjoyment I've already had from Dead Rising and Forza.

It'd still be classy as fuck if MS decided to give people with the Day One achievement (ingenious way to determine deal eligibility, btw) a discount on a digital copy of Titanfall.

Yes you were.

I've backed up everything I've said, my point being Xbox makes $10b a year revenue, I argued why it'll continue to do so, you argued why it won't. I don't get this 'digging a hole' BS.

Just heard this on the radio in the car. I'm both surprised and not surprised at the same time. I expected a price drop to come this year but I thought it wouldn't come any sooner than E3. Wonder if other territories will follow.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Wonder where the price'll be in the US by the time they announce that rumored white Xbone. Still no games I'm interested in on the horizon (outside of some of the rumored stuff), but uh... yeah. Cheaper is good.

It's a good deal, but are they going to be making non bundled consoles at the same price or will the stand alone console take a price cut?

Is it still a system-seller if it comes with a cut-price console and for free? In any case, I'm waiting for the £250 Halo 5 bundle.

One thing will help them is PS4 availability, Amazon UK won't have new stock for standalone until March 25.

Amazon isn't the outlet though. Tesco have both the standalone and the Knack bundle in stock right now, Gameseek have the Knack bundle in stock and Shopto have various bundles in stock too.

It might help them a little, but it won't see demand spike significantly.

Good move, they should do this everywhere soon if they want to stir interest in the console. Titanfall is their big ace card after all

I wont buy it but I'm sure there are those who would

Does anyone know if they'll be offering this bundle at Gamestop? Already pre-ordered Titanfall on PC but tempted to double dip/sell the online code. Especially since GS is offering +50% TIV on trades for new consoles.

Oh, you sneaky son of a bitch. Seriously, that was good, you technically-not-lying bastard.
