I'm not sure how I feel about the new character models. As long as Kevin Conroy is the voice, that's all that matters to me

As a WiiU owner I'm not bothered by the fact that it's not coming to it. I would be if the console was technically in the same league as PS4/XB0. This is despite the current market conditions facing the WiiU. Since I get the feeling this will be Rocksteady best work, even though there isn't any gameplay video released. PS4 has a consumer primed and ready to spend my hard earned cash.

What if what we saw.... was all in game...

Seriously I hope it's not asking much to expect similar level of graphics quality in game on a next(current) gen platform.

Bahahahahaha!

That proves my point, at least in your case - some of those most anxious for Rocksteady to move onto a new character or series could care less about what the developers have done for the Batman IP.

Not at all

I recognize there was almost no good batman games before they came around and I respect that

Hell I basically gave it credit by even playing arkham asylum to begin with, I never would have touched a batman game otherwise

People forgetting Origins hinted at a possible Suicide Squad game? I think we're jumping the gun on calling Batman an annual series now.

I hope not unfortunately

People give it shit, but Origins actually had the best story in the series
Yep. Best story, best understanding of the universe and its characters (the way
Bane gets turned into a brutish thug at the end is like a deliberate commentary on how badly Rocksteady treat him
), best art design...

Soooooooo is Hans Zimmer the composer?

since Zimmer's rising to stardom every single OST in every single film/game/whatever sounds like him

Anybody else not so bothered by the CGI trailer?

The trailer did nothing for me, tbh. I'm always interested in good Batman games and Rocksteady knows their stuff by now, so I trust that it will be good. My only concern, whispering at the back of my mind, is that it all looks a bit too familiar. Harley? Check. Twoface? Check. Penguin? Check. I want something new and the car wont be enough.

Wouldn't make sense if it were another prequel. That would make it a prequel to Origins, right? But then,
Batman meets Joker for the first time in Origins. And Harley is still normal in Origins whereas she's clearly Joker's Harley in Arkham Knight.

Wouldn't make sense, has to be a sequel.

I agree, design was top notch and story was quite enjoyable too (expect the part that
it was Joker all along
). But the only thing (besides bugs etc.) that killed it was being way too much like Arkham City gameplay and atmosphere wise, which is my favourite Arkham thus far.

The piano player in the video found here looks like it could be Nick Arundel, from Arkham Asylum & City.

Is it even confirmed to be AC sequel? Because I'm getting afraid now if it isn't...

Well, this game is the final boombastic Arkham series conclusion, so i guess it is a sequel.

Cos you never kill these villains so they're always going to be able to return.

Yeah but; wans't Arkham City a one-night run for Batman? you were supposed to fix all in just one night (hours, after Jokers sickness). Pinguin was full-defeated with no weapons and being watched by Arkham Police security, and Two face was beaten by Catwoman.

What about Azrael? What about Hush? Killer Croc it's alive too according to the game itself. Like i say, the game needs to feature new enemies, or at least get the primary roll to some-what new character (like Scarecrow in someway).

But it belongs in the "last gen" category. We all knew this was going to happen down the road. We knew Wii U would be ditched when PS3 and 360 started getting phased out and this is the first game to do it.

Personally I'm glad this is current gen only. I don't want last gen console hardware holding my games back.

qft. Seriously a million times this. I don't want nintendo scrimping on manufacturing costs to hold back this gen and I'm happy it isn't. I'm hoping for special things from this game.

This looks good, but a bit worrying at the same time. I loved Asylum and City, enjoyed Origins a lot too (people give that game too much crap imo), but if Origins showed me anything, it's that the Arkham formula is beginning to wear thin. The fact that it came out only a year ago, and with more DLC just announced isn't doing this game any favors either.

It is Rocksteady though and if anyone can deliver its them.

Oh don't get me wrong, I agree that it would be cool to see other villains. I really hope we get more of Azrael and Hush especially. Someone like the Red Hood would be a welcome inclusion too.

I don't understand the hate Origins gets it's probably my favorite Arkahm game, it was fun, had a great story (I felt it was better then AA and AC) and felt like Rocksteady made it....

whats not to like?

plus their design for bane
not counting the end
and a lot of the other characters were handled so much better then Rocksteady's.

i felt like i had more hype from origins cg trailer because of all the bosses. this highlights there is a batmobile... which isn't that big of a deal, lego batman 2 was open world with vehicles... heck even that gameloft dark knight rises mobile game was open world with batpod/plane and tumbler

batpod1.jpg

on a similar note, nolan batman doesn't look too shabby in game form, I wouldn't mind a slightly less bulky batman that makes his ninja like moves seem a bit more believable.

guess what?

It's a bit of a risk releasing the game just for the platforms announced, particularly if the One sales don't pick up. We may have a separate announcement for the PS3, 360 and Wii U. From what little we know about the Wii U's hardware it should be able to handle downscaled ports from the more powerful 8th generation consoles. You'll see less draw distance, lower poly models, more jaggies, more pop in, lower quality textures and lower native resolution but it should be possible.

It's pretty plain to see that there's a lot more going on under the hood of the Wii U than we're aware of with a few games running in 720p native at 60fps and with v-synch enabled. Super Mario 3D World, The Wonderful 101, Mario Kart 8, X, Bayonetta 2 and SSBU are all technically very impressive, although a great deal of people who don't know any better put it down to 'good art'.

Engines these days are scalable.

Warner Bros is starting to be a top publisher for me personally. Next gen Batman, the new LOTR game and Netherrealms rumored next title are all at or near the top of my interest list. If they want to produce nothing but top quality licensed games then so be it.
