Dunno if I can wait a month for PC, but if the framerate is iffy again I may do it.

And I'm going to be a Deprived now that I know it's still in the game, thought it had been removed. Loved working my way from nothing and both my PC and PS3 playthroughs of Dark Souls were done with the class.

Anyone get the CE early? Just wondering how the statue holds up close.

I tried to make a "Belmont-ish" character by using various leather armor, no helm, and a whip with +5 Occult.

It. Was. Terrible. ... Yet fulfilling, until I managed to get to Duke's Archives where everything was doing like 2 damage and dropped my controller and walked away.

Do people think that the PC version will be rotten with cheats and hackers like the first game?


its enough that I am considering the ps3 version.

More importantly: Warrior has more points dropped into casting stats.

faith + int + attunement

swordsman: 18
deprived: 18
explorer: 17
warrior: 15
knight: 13
bandit: 11

If you don't plan to use any spell casting or miracles, bandit and knight (dex vs. no dex) are best. If you're like me and you aren't exactly sure yet if you want to go into miracles or magic or none of the above, warrior's not a terrible choice. There's less of a hurdle to get through if you decide at some point you want to get into some magic.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Finally started Artorias Abyss DLC to hopefully finish this weekend before DS2 launches.

Fucking christ Artorias is hard. My build is pure dex and I use bows/scimitars and I just feel I don't have the dps or armor to handle that dude. I am kind of getting his pattern down, but as soon as he goes hyper mode his speed and reach just nail me. Hate the semi-long run back to try again too.

Just pre-loaded Titanfall, and It's going to be tough deciding what to play. Probably just play Titanfall when I need a break. So many games this month.

Probably go with a STR build first time through. Usually go magic first time around in previous souls games.

So, a couple questions about rings:
Now that there are four slots, do any rings take two slots? (Y/n only please, don't tell me what ring does if there are any thx.) Are there any enchanted brass knuckles that enhance fist weapons? Do you assign rings specifically per hand?

So the starting stats chart in the OP is incorrect. I know for a fact that Bandit starts with 1 Int and 9 Faith (from the female character creation video that was posted a while back and that I can't seem to find again). And there may be other mistakes too.

This should be fixed :)

I pre-ordered Dark Souls 2 CE and Titanfall at my local Gamestop. Beforehand I asked them if they'd have a midnight launch for Titanfall and they told me yes, they definitely were and I could pick both games up at the launch. So I plopped down my $200 and left.

I checked the website yesterday and noticed my local shop wasn't listed as having a midnight launch so I called them and they said they weren't sure, but they should still be having one, so I should call back tomorrow. So I called them a few hours ago and no, they in fact are not doing a midnight launch. So I called up a few Gamestops within 15 miles - none of the ones that are doing a midnight launch have any copies left for pre-order. So now I can't even cancel my pre-order and pre-order at a different store for the midnight launch after the fine folks at Gamestop fucking lied to me.

So I just got off the phone with them about this. I explain everything and the woman with whom I speaking pauses and doesn't sympathize with me being misled, doesn't apologize, she just asks "What's your objective here? What are you trying to accomplish?"

Motherfucker.

I would probably be mad enough about that to cancel my order, buy it at a different, non-GS store and most important call GS and crawl up the chain of command explaining the situation until someone apologized for both the initial mislead and the lack of empathy at the store.

In total I watched about half an hour of streams and I want to see more of this game, but I also don't want to spoil things! Lucky people getting it next week, I m have to wait until April to play :'(

Try looking around the ruined towers for a shortcut.

You can also interrupt Artorias's power-up
with a headshot from the bow, IIRC.

I'll try and ask again, does anyone know if there's an archived stream with early game footage (preferably tutorial area) that I could watch? Just want to get a good feel of the very early parts of the game.

The guy rushes a little but the gamestop preview video is all within the first hour of the game.
