Exactly. And while I acknowledge Second Son is open world, good looks are good looks, and Thief and Tomb Raider are both more impressive in my book, at least where "realistic" games are concerned. I think your average person on the street, appreciating a screenshot purely for its aesthetics, would agree.
To be clear, though -- I'm NOT saying Second Son is a bad-looking game. It's just not some paradigm shift in visuals.

No the average person would not agree on Thief, it considered to have medicore graphics by most ppl and you can see that in any gameplay shot.
And i haven't seen the new TR in real life but those pics you've put only emphasis how much better SS looks, even without taking into consideration it's an open world game it looks much better, and when you do realise it's open world the comparison is even more absurd.
And just because you found a bad pic of Infamous (it's open world - you can find bad spots in any game in that genre) doesn't really prove much.

Wow, Titanfall reminds me of Halo 3 here (at least from how I remember it). Still tempted to try it despite its technical shortcomings though.
I'm not sure if Minus compresses like Imgur does, but I'd use Abload.de, just to be safe.
Didn't realize how blurry the third shot was until I uploaded it.

The black crush on xone looks pretty severe or maybe the gamma on my pc when I play it is a bit too high in comparison. Nice to see some more games creep into this thread as more next gen games get released.
My ps4 is crying out for some Second Son action, though I really should stop looking so it doesn't spoil too much for me.

Yeah, it's a lot less than Imgur. If it's already compressed or you want it to upload fast (or it's a picture where quality doesn't really matter), go for Imgur. If you're after a good looking result, go for Minus.

Titanfall is not the best looking game ever, but once you go back to try Halo 3 you will realize it looked really bad, much worse than Titanfall! I've played it recently since I had gotten it again from the Games with Gold thing, and it didn't look as good as I remembered it to be :S
Titanfall looks allright, I still think it looks better than anything last gen, especially for its scale and everything happening on screen at the same time. Wonder how it could have looked with something like Cry Engine though.

Not really sure why anyone is trying to find faults with Infamous and either bother comparing it to some of those other games. It's a huge, open world. Of course the detail isn't going to look as good as something like Killzone.
The graphics still look brilliant and are probably the best of any open world though. I'd kill for a GTA game looking this good.

Those shots were taken using PS4 share feature as well, not using fancy capture cards. I find the downplaying of the SS graphics pretty funny, esp the "well ps4 has no gamez so no wonder" posts.
Damn, that image looks bad... Titanfall seriously looks like it belongs in the previous generation, not this generation.
Add to that, from what DF said, I can't believe this game still gets performance issues like tearing and drops to 30. That should be unacceptable. Period.

Man, everyone is more than welcome to their own opinion but I certainly do not think the "average" person would find Tomb Raider or Thief better looking than Infamous. Thief is a pretty ugly game in my view.
On another note, I have to say, I'm always impressed by the Wii U shots in this thread. The clean and colorful appearance always stands out.

Tomb Raider, I can see how people would argue for it. Thief, on the other hand, I have no idea what they're smoking.
inFamous looks incredible for being open world. Add to that, unlike TF which looks bad and performs "not so good" per DF's analysis, it is amazing that inFamous is able to retain a pretty solid 30 fps with NO tearing, minimal pop-in and Oh yeah, it's open world!!!
I don't give a shit about the haters. inFamous is right now the definition of a next-gen game. SP has, in my eyes gained in stature because of this game and it's only good for Sony since they now have three studios that are Naughty Dog tier.

This screenshot thread actually prevented me from purchasing Tomb Raider. I can't justify spending that much money on a game that looks so average. It is also visually inconsistent as well. Buying last gen games at next gen prices is a giant waste of money.

Infamous looks incredible to me. Comparing it to Sleeping Dogs on PC is fair, but I think Infamous bests it in every element bar IQ quite handily. SD geometry and lighting is not as impressive.
Tomb Raider does not look as good at all to me, and thief must be a joke I suppose. As for Ryse, sure on a micro level it can easily be compared, but I think this has an edge in IQ and scale.

It seems kinda trollish for a guy waxing eloquent about a mediocre looking 2D 720p platformer and posting pics showing the worst implementation of bloom my eyes have had the misfortune to witness (Wind Waker HD), to claim that Infamous Second Son doesn't look next gen enough.

Can we not keep this about constructive criticism (from both perspectives). Frankly, WWHD and DKCR:TF both look really nice, and in a different way so do TR and Infamous. No need to respond to someone with a 'you don't like these screens, well yours are shit' type response - it just comes across as childish. And for the record, I agree that Infamous SS looks like it shits on TR from the Earths atmosphere when it comes to IQ.

Yeah, DK looks really damn nice.
Just finished Tomb Raider on PS4 and just judging from screens secondary characters from Infamous look way better. Aside from Lara everyone else in the game looks like they got lost on the way over to next gen just my thoughts on that aspect. Also yeah Tomb Raider and especially Thief do not touch Infamous.

Toki Tori looks great in still shots. But to be fair, there's a load less going on so it's not surprising that it has great IQ. DKTF looks great though, not sure why you're comparing the two when one is a fully fledged platformer with an absolute ton of stuff going on and one is a puzzle game with great IQ but much simpler assets.
