LOL at someone saying x1 does 700k in NPD, talk about pure dilusion.Wont do that World wide in march

Not a big bump at all with a price cut and TF , ms needs way more then that this is all they have until the fall.

You know, given the information in the article, it seems like one could figure out a bottom ceiling for the numbers of copies of TF sold:

"Titanfall more than doubles the sales of what had been 2014’s current leader FIFA 14, which until now had delivered the highest sales for an All Formats No1 back in Week 1 of this year."

The guys in the PAL thread have worked out this means at least 125k for Titanfall, based on Fifa's week 1 sales.

They needed the price point and this game, no doubt. Job well done and I bet they are trying to keep it exclusive going forward.

So, if DS2 is in second place, and it sold 20% more than DS, then we really just need the DS first week sales numbers. It won't give the actual number, but you could at least figure out a floor for the number.

Anyone know what DS first week sales in the UK were?

TF sales were already estimated at 125k+ thanks to the comparison with Week 1 2014 FIFA sales :p

What is ridiculous about what I posted? The UK is factually the PAL territory closest aligned to US taste, and those 3 days of sales (with 94% being in XBO) point towards it being the biggest next gen launch so far.

It will easily clear 700k in March NPD, which covers 3 weeks of the game's release.

Once again. Can you provide evidence of such a ratio? And furthermore, what title sells consistantly those kind of numbers (200k+) over 3 weeks?

Nothing! I said nothing!

According to what people said earlier in the thread it sold more than double Fifa 14s best week in 2014 so +125k 94% of which were on XB1.

Microsoft doesn't care about the front loaded sales, they want this game to move their systems on a monthly basis. Having good sales one month is worthless. That's why they're pushing this game so hard because actual system sellers have that kind of effect. For them the weekly/monthly hardware sales are more important.

Well they obviously do. They have a system on retailer shelves that doesnt really move and is ignored by the consumer, so they bet all the money on Titanfall, since last years summer. This place costs money, we had the same situation with the WiiU last year. As I said, the game will have long legs, no doubt about it. Its too good to be ignored, but word of mouth right now is PC. Cheaper, better performance, higher install base, no online paywall. When the 360 version releases, it will please EA as more software units are going to be sold, but if thats really helping to boost xbones sales in the months ahead isnt so sure.

A front load sell does not help them remotely that's the point. They want to shift units for the year. They don't want to shift units for the week or even the month. Microsoft is literally betting on this game to carry them to fall.

I think he meant overall sales. This is a very small bump compared to other games.
It's hard to compare. Did any of those other games have a price cut two weeks before? It's a bump on top of a price cut bump.
125k is a bit meh, isn't it?
How have other games been selling?
It's twice as big as the biggest launch week this year so far. For comparison against an early system seller, it outsold MGS 4 by at least 15k in it first week.

Thank you. That actually sounds like a pretty good number.

Both just look in awe at Zelda Wind Waker HD that increased the sales by 685%

One's a multiplayer title with expanding gameplay and updates, the other a one-time purchase/play experience. Certainly the difference will be significant to the health of their respective consoles.

We cant say for sure how impressive it is without numbers. The price cut happened a couple of weeks back so likely saw a smaller bump with those (and all the crazy deals going round)

Not bad then, I still want to see solid numbers though. MS sure love playing the guessing game.

That is what I'm saying for months, but I doubt it will work for them for several reasons. Price is still the major barrier and if TF doesnt have an impact at the begining there wont be much positive PR to strenghten confidence in people sitting on the fence about the xbone. Those sales you are talking about in the future are heavily connected to Titanfalls reception at its begining.

The OP should probably update the thread by putting that this is a Chart-Track statement (not MS PR), the sales % of PC vs Xbox, the estimated units sold, relevant software sales comparisons (Gears of War, Uncharted, Halo, whatever), and relevant hardware bundle comparisons.

It's kind of hard to filter a reasonable discussion through all the noise.

If we could still do ban bets, I'd wager that TF sells > 700k, and it will sell more on One than PC and 360 combined in March. I've been making this prediction for the past 6 months, btw, and nothing about this sales ratio has changed that. The debut will be closer to Gears of War than Bioshock.

I never said anything about a sustained sales bump, in the US MS would only need a minor bump to go over 300k for the month, which would be viewed as very healthy, especially with their first big Kinect game on the way shortly after.

I wasn't saying it's impossible; in fact, the more I think about it: the more likely it seems. Although I think 700k is the ceiling.

So the maximum for One sales is ~180k because ~70% of hardware sales were Titanfall bundles.
