Looks good. I really want to see how Sony makes VR work with PS4.
Jabbing the VR playing person with a fork when they least expect it is all the asymmetric gameplay I need
It begins!
...Que Microsoft panic acquisitions.

People are hoping for a $200 price tag? I reckon it will be double that

Beta please?

I've seen enough animes to know this won't end well!
It looks stylish and the tentative specs seem good. It seems further away than i expected, and in all honesty, talk of needing the camera, move, and morpheus is destining this to failure...as if it wasn't destined for that anyways. I don't doubt that it will work; i doubt that the lineup can justify the cost. These things have to become open platform if they want to succeed. It's like buying a TV for one system.
Remember that E3 before the 3DS price drop when everyone said the Vita's $250 price point was perfect and they couldn't believe Sony was doing something so sensible for such a great piece of hardware?
Eh, Sony surprised me with the $399 price tag of the Playstation 4, so I won't be surprised if their engineering wizards manage to pump out a VR product for a relatively marketable price.
Oculus is looking more like night vision goggles these days.

Let's hope you guys are right. But judging by the pricing of their other head mounted displays it won't be cheap. If it was then OR would have serious competition (assuming the tech is decent)
My only issue is that with the Oculus Rift, everyone is saying you need high res, and 60fps. And the scene is being rendered twice!
You need a beefy rig for the Rift.
I imagine a lot of low-tech Star-Fox looking games for this on PS4.
Their other displays use two tiny displays with extremely high dpi paired with complex optics.
There's no comparing the two approaches in terms of price.
Not sure if want. Hope it does not turn into another gimmick.
Oh, the guy wears a Sony's badge?
I can wait. Because I know the waifus will be there.Probably around the year 2022 lol

Morpheus -
"In Greek and Roman mythology, the god of dreams. He was one of the sons of Hypnos (Somnus), god of sleep. Morpheus sent human shapes of all kinds to the dreamer, while his brothers Phobetor and Phantasus sent the forms of animals and inanimate objects."
Hmmmmmm........

The price point will definitely reveal whether Sony considers this a legitimate aspect of the Playstation brand, or whether they're doing this just because. Peripherals already have a ton of things going against them, so price is definitely a HUGE factor. If they want this to be anything more than a bullet point, it's got to come at a price point that's actually somewhat marketable.

Disappointed this doesn't have a price, release window, and a supported games lineup. Is this something they show off and then it disappears like other tech companies do? Is it gonna be another gimmick like HOME? I want more concrete info like Apple does in their conferences
Except neither of those things have anything to do with what I wrote. We already have a recent example (from Sony, no less) of how people are unwilling to pay for something that requires extra work from content providers and requires one to wear glasses. Now, after Sony went all-in on 3D and completely failed, we expect a high number of people to buy a bigger version of what was a hindrance for 3D (and possibly needing to buy a separate peripheral for it to work)?
They'll be old though
