Steam trading cards and achievements will be made but will not be in the initial Steam release version. Steam workshop integration would be tricky but would be cool first of all for the hats. Instead of challenging friends with own levels there could be weekly/monthly challenge levels that are not randomized or barely randomized with highscore lists. Similiar to what Spelunky is doing.
Thanks. I have two games I would like to try and get on there.Dark Octave, yeah all of the above.. actually you don't need a working demo at all, but it helps to get votes. Try to have 3-4 screenshots. Money is about $100 and it goes to charity.

I can't look through this whole topic because I'm on my phone, but a game has released on PSN today called Master Reboot, and I understand it came out on PC a while back. Has anyone played it or have any opinions on it? It appears to be a first person psychological horror with sci-fi and puzzle elements, but I'd like some opinions before I purchase if possible.
It starts off promising, loses the plot halfway and becomes a shambling corpse of its original idea and intent long before the credits roll. Gameplay starts getting in the way of itself when the level design and controls don't mix.
I'd say grab it if it was half off since it's really only half there.
Amazing feedback, pals, thanks. I will be sure to put a focus on the gameplay even if there is a voiceover... So here's a question: does this (rough) voiceover sound lame, or does it intrigue you? imagine this was accompanied by tonnes of game footage, concept sketches, etc, etc.
Click here to listen to my rough voiceover.
Im just not sure if its a mistake to be this personal about the project.
No I wasn't aware of that at all. One of my games is pretty much done, (really old) trailer and everything. I'm not sure how it would do but it's worth a shot I guess. I'm going to look into putting it up right now. Thanks so much.Sweet, not sure if you're aware, but it's a one-time fee for the greenlight access, so unlimited projects are free to start once you've paid that initial fee. Cant wait to see the projects.
For this game, called No No and the Cursed Treasure. It was going to be XBLIG but now maybe Steam would be an ok fit?
This is our second game, 90% finished. Background changes and it'll be done. This is going to be a free game and I have no idea if Steam would allow that. If not then we'll just give it away on our site. It's basically a Geometry Wars clone called Server Swarm.
This is the current game we are neck deep in at the moment. I'll be adding this in a few months if everything goes smoothly. This Saturday we're planning to show two levels in motion. I'll post them in the other indie (professionally poor) game thread.

There's always a better way, a harder way, a quicker way. Perhaps that's the best advice to keep in mind when playing Cloudbuilt. Vibrant visuals and an incredible sense of speed combine to offer rocket-powered precision platforming through sprawling levels just begging to be mastered
Find your way.

Awesome preview for Clockwork Empires, new game from the devs of Dungeon of Dredmor
Clockwork Empires - Spring 2014 (PC, Mac, Linux)
Frog Sord, as it stands cannot be finished. However, a new frog-tastic action platformer is a different story. I can't say much (publicly) at the moment.
I'm making a game about a frog and a sword. #BackFromTheDead
Some good news from one of the Frog Sord developers

I don't usually feel compelled to write up my thoughts on a game but I just finished Master Reboot and feel like sharing my frustration with this game. I've had my eye on it since it was released but because of Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight Mnemonic prototype reminding me of it I thought I'd play through it to get myself even more hyped up for that prototype.
Pros:
Interesting story.
Creepy atmosphere.
Cons:
Graphically, the games looks unfinished most of the time. Sometimes it looks like its the style they were going for but there are a lot of objects and environment pieces that just look like the developers never completed.
Cheap, trial-and-error deaths throughout the game that feel out of place and add nothing other than a way to extend the length of the game.
Extremely easy and boring puzzles. There's one particular section towards the end of the game, at a train station, that was so dull I was falling asleep. It's bad enough that you have to do it once but you have to do it four times to progress.
Attempts at being scary go no further than jump scares.
Annoying checkpoint system. A lot of times when the player dies you have to watch a slow scene play out that you previously saw or go through a section that you previously already went through.
Bugs, glitches. I encountered a lot of graphical glitches and even got stuck in various parts of an environment.
What's most frustrating is that I think the story and world are interesting but dragged down by all of the "gamey" stuff. I think it should have been a exploration adventure game like Gone Home. It definitely needed more time in development because so much feels unfinished or not thought out long enough.
It's out! Discounted 10% ($17.99)
Cloudbuilt - $19.99 (PC, Mac, Linux)
Any of you guys know anyone with Xbox Creators Club accounts anymore? We're trying to push Shutshimi through the approval process right now but it's not what it used to be. We could definitely use a hand if anyone can help. I'm not above offering a free copy of the game to anyone who does haha (probably PC until we figure out how those XBLIG codes work?)
Here's the game's page: http://catalog.create.msdn.com/en-U...d=bcec4fc2-c0d5-4e97-aaa1-ef5dbdc8fb41&type=1
So glad to finally have this out the door. Like a huge rock lifted off my shoulders, then thrown back on.
Sweet! Also, found this little typo on your main pageArcadecraft is actually available on PC right now but you can only buy it on our website via a Humble Widget. It is also nearing the top 100 on Greenlight so if you wish to vote for it, please do so!
Dont forger to vote for Arcadecraft on Steam Greenlight!
It must feel good.

This is that Mirror's Edge + Jet Set Radio game

One more day till Cloudbuilt! Going to $19.99, 10% discount at launch
Really hope this hits it big, like Gone Home and Rogue Legacy. It certainly has hype and the attention from all the major sites on its side
Have you seen Lemma?I'm loving the look of all these games, high speed action! Looks soooo good. Anything that involves an element of parkour, New Hover and Cloudbuilt, or just an air dash, Aztez, is straight up sex for my eyes.
Here's something I typed up awhile back about it.
How are you playing it? Or are you talking about the little demo?Escape Goat 2 is very good, both in terms of level design and graphics.

Must have missed that. At least the game's only a few days awayPre-orders were offered the Beta a few weeks ago.
I haven't really played it much, want to wait for the final version. But what I saw was good.
I read MGS:GZ is only like 90 minutes long. Infamous 2 looks incredible. Really wish Project Awakened's Kickstarter had succeeded so we could have had an awesome indie superhero gameThe naming of Gorogoa is starting to make me feel nostalgic, considering it was among the first playable hidden gems discovered in these threads thats still not out with the full version.
Random Aside Edit:
Final Fantasy X HD, Dark Souls 2, MGS: GZ, Infamous 2
... and 20 Indies left that I still need to try in this thread.
Goddamnit.

Wow really? This review (more of a rant than a review) went on and on about how the game is so short, not worth the money because it's short. More like a single level or a demo, than a full complete game.Yeah, 90 minutes long to get through the content doesnt mean you have done everything in the game. I am at 12 hours and maybe are 1/4th done, granted S-Ranking is not everyones cup of tea, but considering the gameplay is incredibly fun, the challenges are diverse and you can unlock stuff by b,a,s-ranking, I definitely consider that worthwhile content.
Cant wait to check out Infamous :-o MGS already looked incredibly good.

Cart Life was pulled from Steam but you still can download it for free from the developer site. He also opened the source code for anyone.
It's a weekly feature that highlights interesting devlogs on the forums; this week's was also a IGF Special. I've been helping out recently

While exploring the world you find (or take) power sources, propulsion units, utilities, and weapons, and attach them to yourself to create a slow tank bristling with weapons, or a fast-moving flyer zipping past enemies before they even have time to react, or a stealthy sword-wielding assassin bot, or whatever else you can come up with from the salvage you find. The game can quickly change as you lose components and your loadout changes.
Action is turn-based but you don't have "action points" per se; instead, every action takes a certain amount of time, and robots that can perform actions more quickly can continue to due so until another robot is ready to act.
Combat is optional if you can avoid it, and there is no grinding for XP since the game rewards you for simply reaching new areas.
While not fighting/sneaking, you can find/construct allies, hack machines, manipulate your enemies, and explore the story through terminals spread throughout the complex.
