What in the fuck is going on at ND? WHY can't they announce that someone has JOINED the company? Are there people joining Sony even? I really hope the next piece of news is an announcement detailing the future of Uncharted 4 and who is going to lead the project going forward.

Well, they got that former Halo designer a few months back who's supposedly one of the best in the industry. Can't remember her name though...

It's just strange that they left in the middle of a project. A bag of money and solidarity with Amy probably led to this.

I know they made the second team so people wouldn't get burnt out working on one game, but those people stuck on Uncharted may be just that.

But this happens in this industry. In many industries. It's happened before. PS1 era. PS2 era. For many companies.

1. Sony told their 1st parties that they would be getting less production money, so those studios had to make cuts and/or salary cut ultimatums. This all being a result of Kaz cutting back on the overhead to save Sony as a company.

2. These people who are leaving have been colluding privately about starting up a new developer house together.

3. Egos vs. Egos.

Theory:

Naughty Dog management think Neil and Bruce would make UC4 better than Amy and Justin, so they were given the job while Amy and Justin felt slighted and left.

It was patch 1.05 and its health reduction that fucked it up, not 1.04.

Which patch nerfed the Dragon Sniper for Co-Op? Thats when I stopped playing.

UC2 was one of the best MP experiences I had last (this?) gen. Truly amazing, until the patches.

I reckon there's nothing sinister behind Justin's departure in that sense. Dude started as a multiplayer designer, so deciding he's had enough of SP games and heading to Riot just seems a natural progression. Maybe Amy leaving was just the push he needed to do it.

It seems to me that the people most responsible for Uncharted 3 have now left. Wasn't that the game that seemingly everyone compared unfavorably to Uncharted 2? You know what? I'm out. This is all it's going to be. Kneejerking here and there, Sony is doomed, what happened, something is up, panic.jpg (or .gif), and many people will blow this out of proportion as if they've never seen key figures leave a company before, as if it never happened prior to this generation or the previous one.

The only possible situation I can think of that could be causing everything... Would be that Sony is doing a big review of people's performance and seeing where the innovation and quality decisions are coming from. Cleaning out where they are not and then proceeding to give the younger talent a chance to prove themselves.

See, I think this did happen, but I feel like many WWS devs have been pissed that their long time colleagues and friends have been getting axed left and right in the name of 'efficiency'. This seems more like a solidarity movement. I honestly can't think of anything else that could shake things up this hard.

Not sure, after 1.05 I stopped playing within a couple of weeks, and I was never big on the sniper rifles. I was a run and gun player so the reduction in health completely ruined my play style.
But yes, it was amazing. I pumped over 130 hours within 3 months into UC2.
