Two reasons: Timezones and surprise.
The latter is probably the bigger reason. People know there will be fake news and stuff on April 1st, so by posting them on March 31st, they might not be fake...

I am still confused as to if This Is Vegas is still coming out, they updated the website on april fools last year as coming soon, then never said anything.
