I've already reported this game on Steam for fraud, the reason given being false advertisement.
I urge everyone to do the same. There's no reason why we should accept scamming practices from deceitful companies.

Wasnt that Demo on a disc?
Would be nice if someone ever got a hold of one
Wow the Pursuer looks great. I bet the Mirror Knight is shiny/reflective again as well. Can't see a reason why he wouldn't be.
I'm really happy that they did the right thing and support arbitrary resolutions, and not this weird middle-of-the-road thing Metal Gear Solid: Rising went for (where only a fixed set of resolutions is supported). I was concerned about that.

Look at that running animation for those guys.. Were the animations this bad for Dark Souls, can't remember.

I'm going by images of the back-cover on google, since i don't have the game yet.
That's pretty damn cool.
Downsampling? Future proofing?
Why are there so many loading screens? One of the awesome things about DSI was that the world was completely seamless(with a couple exceptions).
Deaths and invasions and bonfie warping.
You also have to level up at a specific area instead of any bonfire.
I think DS2 acts just like Dark Souls did. You can walk anywhere without any load screens, but if you warp somewhere, die, or get summoned/invade there is a loading screen. You just warp more often in DS2 since you can do it from the beginning.
It's goddamn awesome. I can't think of the last game that I played that actually had that in an options menu.

I wonder if Hidetaka Miyazaki broke off to create a quicker turn around for Dark Souls III on PC/PS4/XBO.
Dark Souls II is not as seamless as the original and warping between bonfires is unlocked from the start as a result.
You also have to level up at a specific area instead of any bonfire.
But I'll do an approximate breakdown for a regular first playthrough of Dark Souls 2. You also have to remember that this game now feels like a MMORPG sometimes with all the jolly Co-op and the stellar summoning mechanics:
That's around 400 loading screens and I'm being very generous. I was SL 149, loved being summoned and died almost 300 times (both as a ghost and as a host).
- At least 200 deaths (average).
- Warping back to Majula to level up (at least 80 times).
- Being summoned (2 load screens) from 20 to 40 times.
- Warping back and forth between locations (at least 50 times).
More like Demons Souls 2 or a new spin off. Seems he wants to create something new.

Were lighting changes really expected? Does a PC version of anything look drastically different from console counterparts, with the exception of obvious better resolutions, and better particle effects?
As long as PC runs at a solid 60, I'll be happy.
Resolution? or Auto Detect?
Native downsampling confirmed
So internal resolution is definitely not capped at 1080p?
What video is this from?
It has 1440p???Native downsampling confirmed
No one has footage of the Mirror Knight???
Seems like he will be back to being shiny, really hope for that.
..bbu...buut 8GB GDDR5
You're worrying about the wrong specs. Does it have just the integrated GPU or is it one of the models with a dedicated GPU as well?

Is anyone else impressed by the motion blur in that Giantbomb video? It looks really good at 60fps.

Everything is going to look different because the game is mostly motion capture
So at least 2-3 hours of your playtime is sitting in a loading screen.
PC Gamer's preview
I cant get the GiantBomb video to load, not sure why.
LOL, what was wrong with the guy in the capture suit? Was he on mescaline?

Ha sorry I just asked him to send me the model and specs and thats what he messaged me. He just sent this over:
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
-------
Intel HD Graphics 4000:
Chipset Model: Intel HD Graphics 4000
Type: GPU
Bus: Built-In
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M:

PCIe Lane Width: x8
VRAM (Total): 1024 MB
Nope, they did the right thing. So internal resolution is definitely not capped at 1080p?
No confirmation on the FPS yet. I'd also like some!So this is locked at a max of 60 fps? Or has that not been confirmed for sure?
Really glad to see you can render higher than 1080p natively.

Click on Quality, then change to Progressive, HD.
Go to another video and set it to progressive/hd, then reload the DS2 site.
I have the exact same laptop, but from Asus. He will be able to run just about any game just fine, including Dark Souls II.
Mine probably cost $1000 less than his though lol
