Great update anyway, looking forward to checking out Sharefactory.

When scrolling all the way to the bottom of your trophy list, if you back out, you will remain on the same game. Before you would end on a different game entirely.

Umm.. was system multi session before?
If you change user from Shut down menu the previous user stays loggeg.

Yeah that was always like that.

In fact, you can even run apps in the background from one account while you use your other account.
I use it for ingame music by streaming the music from the MU app via a fresh PSN account that still has the free trial month ;) (you can even control the music with the other account via the settings of the PS button menu w/o switching accounts)

created a 16 sec clip. facebook was 3.9 MB, usb was 16 MB. Quality difference was pretty apparent at full screen.

It's only slight but you can even notice a difference between screenshots uploaded via the messaging trick and those exported to USB. For comparison:

Messaging trick | USB
Most noticeable in the bottom left area.

wait so which one is supposed to be better? usb file size is smaller...

Sony should focus on:-
Custom wallpapers
Dynamic themes
Full youtube support
3D Blu Rays
Better friends list
Folders
Touch pad integration with the web browser
MP3
DLNA
MKV

Most of those features were on the PS3 BTW

Is the HDCP removed now? If so, did anyone try to stream with a capture card?

There is a checkbox to turn off HDCP in the system menu. That said, I even restarted my console, and I haven't been able to get my capture card to show any video, whether it be in a game or from the UI.

What? How do you do that? When my son wants to play on my PS4 I have to sign out and he has to sign in. Are you saying there's an easy way to flick between the two?

Just turn on 2 controllers at the same time. Press PS button on each to switch between the UI's.

^^

Ok, didn't know, previously i always choose Log Out of PS4, didn't see account change.

Was possible the above way before.

Here are two blown-up versions (otherwise untouched) of my previous FB vs USB Trials example:

So yeah, the difference is quite significant. But it's not very easy to notice in regular-sized screenshots.

Pre 1.70: With 2 controllers or by holding the PS Button -> Devices -> Turn off DS4 -> Then turn on the controller and sign in with the 2nd account

Post 1.70: With 2 controllers or hold the PS Button and select Switch User

791MB Video Transfer Benchmarks

Stock 500GB Hard Drive PS4.

External media are all formated exFAT:

USB 3.0 Solid State Drive
38.04 Seconds

USB 2.0 Solid State Drive
140.62 Seconds

USB 2.0 Hard Drive
148.48 Seconds

USB 2.0 Flash drive
405.20 Seconds

Missing form the test is a USB 3.0 with a standard hard drive.

ok, I messed up testing the 15minute share bug. apparently if you change the input on your TV the recording stops. I waited for about 20 minutes while BF4 was idle at the title screen and hit share, it only recorded the last few seconds when I was back on the correct TV input.

i'll need to try it again properly, probably tomorrow tho.

I have also noticed that I can use the Options button on my Bravia TV remote to use the Options button on the UI when using Bravia sync. It never worked previously. I assume this would also be working on HDMI CEC on other TV's.

Ah, so it's a new feature. I thought I was going crazy.

do flash drives usually take a lot longer than hard drive?

I might be blind, but I'm not seeing any difference at all between pics of the first two games. And the links for AC IV both link to the same pic.

Trials has more compression in the 1st link (facebook) but it's not really noticeable at the original size. Try zooming in to see the compression artifacts.

Infamous in my eyes shows quite a bit of a difference even at the original size. The difference is noticeable in the sky and more so the lights on the skyscraper.

AC images are the same as you pointed out.

EDIT

I see Roadhazard fixed his AC links. :)

I can already tell that when I get a PS4 I'm just going to be addicted to streaming out anything I do, all the time, no matter what I'm playing. It's going to be a problem

exFAT support is incredible.

I'm glad it's starting to make its way into devices because I'm sick of dealing with the limitations of FAT when I want to make USB drives work on all my devices.

exFAT is a required part of the SD card spec since it's used on SDXC cards so I'm surprised the PS3 never got it. My PS3 is an old model with an SD card slot but I can't use the SDXC card from my camera in it.

So is anyone making an OT for Sharefactory? Seems like it would be really useful. I've already managed to find a way to consistently crash Sharefactory when I tried making a quick first clip to test it out.. :/

I was afraid, that something like this would happen...

Don't get me wrong, but I hope, that you just didn't figure out, how to set up your capture card.

Formerly you could use your voice to login up to 4 users simultaniously, even with only one controller. Just say "Playstation, login, user x" x is a number between 1 and 16 (max amount of PS4 users).

IS HDCP not automatic? You need to manually select on/off?
Off for capture but need to turn on again for Netflix etc?

I've been using this capture card for several years, and I just reconnected my 360 just to make sure it's not my card.

My 360 works absolutely fine with my card via HDMI, and my PS3 works absolutely fine via Component.
