Junpei's arc is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Yosuke's.

Way.

Duh. That's the side effect of a character arc being part of the main story.

Huh. So a Yukino expy like Chie was a Lisa expy? Interesting.

Odd, she didn't look like it in the artbook P4 came with; I wonder also if Ai appeared from this cast off material.

IApparently Koshiro is making a track too. GOGOGOGOGOGO

I don't know who that is! :x

Interesting that the EO character designer designed a special enemy though. That's a cool idea.

Aw, I didn't know P4 almost had gay social links. I definitely would have done that, Yosuke's adorable, and I have a slight yaoi fangirl living in me. Best couple IMO.

Anyways, so I know nothing about Aniplex. What are the chances of the P3 movies getting dubbed? If they are, I will wait. I eventually wanna get the movies, I just wanna know if I'm eventually gonna have to get the expensive subbed version or not?

It actually didn't, people are extrapolating too much from a few unused lines.

Who do you guys prefer, Yosuke or Junpei?

Reasons?

Junpei, because P3 does something really cool where his arc is reflected in the game's mechanics.

At the start of P3, Yukari and Junpei are your only available party members. This is okay, because between them and the MC's native Orpheus, you can exploit most every Shadow's weakness in the first areas of Tartarus. Junpei comes off well here, as the hero he wants to be. But then three things happen:

1) The upperclassmen, Akihiko and Mitsuru, are added, and their elements are Just Better than the underclassmen's. Zio and Bufu skills, in addition to damaging the enemy, can put them in Shock or Freeze status, something neither Yukari's Garu or Junpei's Agi line can.
2) The MC gains and fuses more Personas, allowing him/her to cover a wide range of elements all by him/herself.
3) The game starts phasing out Shadows that are weak to Agi for a while.

The combination of these factors means that when you've got three party slots to fill and four party members to fill them with, you're encouraged to bench Junpei and bring the guys who can heal, exploit weaknesses, and inflict helpful status effects instead. And in story terms, what's happening at about this time? Junpei starts feeling frustrated and useless at losing his role in the team, resenting the MC for being too good.

How you finding it so far? Im about 45 hours in.

Its looks like the yosuke/junpei debate is truly split down the middle.

It's amazing, the game really opens up after 10 hours and the writing is still very consistent. Also got to know the fusing system and more social links and the music is so much fun!

I can't say much about Yosuke, but Junpei's best moment so far, by far.

Oh and of course, the voice acting is excellent.

Nich droppin' those knowledge bombs. I never considered any of that. Pretty amazing, although... it did kind of keep me from going back to him for the rest of the game.

I am definitely on the side of character arcs being reflected in the main story, instead of being relegated to just social links. That's one strength P3 has over P4. That being said, I really like having social links with all of my party members, so it's a bit of a trade-off. I hope they find a balance.

Yeah, same :/

How did the exam go smed?

Wow, this is genius.

Damn, I just looked through the thread and we've got some really talented artists here. You guys rock :)

It's not Persona but I made some pics today: https://twitter.com/followarmada/status/465885349131329536

Persona, as in the character designer from SkullGirls!

This episode is going to be awesome - I've been wanting to talk about design for a long time since the Pseries has such rich imagery. Blows my mind that the character designer from SkullGirls will be on SLINKFM :O

I didn't even notice these, that's good stuff.

Are those original designs? If so I am impressed.

In other news, I heard from a friend that the P3 movies are shipping Minato and Yukari.....hell yesssss

Actually, there's a ton of circumstantial evidence that points to the contrary.

1. Yosuke's social link could get reversed (which was exclusive to female party members in P4)
2. Your party members would comment on your relationship with Yosuke (Which again, was exclusive to female party members)
Yukiko: You haven't hung out with Yosuke-kun lately...
Yukiko: Shouldn't you talk to him? I think he's waiting for you... Maybe.
3. The ability to hug him in his social link is only possible if you say the right thing during one of his earlier s.link ranks, which practically mirrors how certain female s.links would incorporate conditional romance (such as Ai and Naoto) based on dialogue choices.

The significance of his cut dialogue is pretty explicit. How can you argue otherwise with such certainty?
If you are a Japanese guy, you do not “suki” your friends. Girls have more freedom with this and can toss it around a bit more willy-nilly, but it’s not something you tell someone as a guy unless you’re pretty serious about them. (And even then, guys saying it is still pretty rare…) When you do a lover’s route with the girls in P4, their “I love you” at Rank 10 is a “suki”/”suki desu” in Japanese.

So despite the fact that “suki” can be used for inanimate objects/family/friends, Yosuke’s “ore, omae ga suki da” (“I like you”) is unquestionably a lover’s route statement. He would not say this to Souji in a casual manner, because if he was just trying to convey feelings of friendship he probably would have said something more like “you’re important to me”.

That said, all of this is circumstantial evidence. To that end, neither viewpoint is "factually" correct, but there's evidence that supports the fact the Magician's lovers link was removed. I'd really suggest reading these pages, as it gives a lot of insight on the subject.

Best of luck man.
Awesome work Armada. I wanna see Lelouch's knightmare robot next :p

Those robots are CASTs, robots from the game Phantasy Star Online 2, which I'm playing with some PersonaGAF people. I did my best to draw them like what our characters look like in game :) I've done some robot artwork that is original and it's pretty good, I'll show you sometime are you on twitter? That's where I'm putting most of my stuff.

Also, Lelouch are you playing PSO2? Join us and go CAST!

Man, I should really fire up PSO2, especially since I went through the trouble of actually installing it. I haven't even created my first character!

Ship/server 2 should be the one I be using, right? At least to start somewhere :lol

I start it in an hour! Finishing up my notes sheet now

G'luck!

Big post.

I'll agree that it's open to interpretation. In my personal opinion, the evidence presented is being interpreted in a particular way. It's not that I have any problem at all with the idea of it, I just don't see it there at all.

I think Personasama is one of the animators, Alex Ahad aka o-8 is the main designer.

ive fully updated my pso2, so i should be on tonight. My character isn't a robot though, he just looks like a typical anime character lol. Still it will be nice to have a team of gundams watching my back :p

I made a twitter account not to long ago to support a campaign. I dont really use it for anything to be honest. Im following you, so ill be sure to check out your art more often.

ill be in the IRC chat in a few hours ready to play. its been a while. I think my pso2 name was LelouchV1.

HAH, that is awesome. For comparison, here is my character in the game itself:

About PSO2, I gave up in the end because it didn't work. I even reinstalled the antivirus (that at least fixed the permission problem I was having). I put every .exe in the exceptions. I disabled the firewall altogether. I ran every troubleshooting option in the Tweaker. And it still didn't work.
So I deleted everything ú_ú I hate when stuff like that happens

did you disable your firewall?

oh and none of those .exe's are the problem, GameGuard is the problem, which is not an .exe in the PSO2 folder

I wonder what the main threat is going to be in Persona 5. People being sent to some supernatural prison? Demon police frisking people on the street?

I did disable the firewall.
Anyway, I don't think it was an antivirus problem, as the game loaded just fine. The crash was right after selecting a character.

@CrazyDude: I think that the slaves thing is more metaphorical, kinda like mind control. The prison thing reminds me of Freedom Wars. I'm quite excited for that game to come out.

Well, that is similar to Shmeeb's and a few other's issue. Game loads just fine, but it would just crash all the time in a spot for them. Turns out it was a Game Guard conflict with their anti viruses.
