This crusade of yours is gonna end badly for you.

Wich crusade dude? I just stated that theres no one beneficiating from this news. I did not offended anyone, but there actually have many PC fanboys posts along the topic, do not pretend you havent seen any.

But you can bet I dont want anything to end bad for me (and I dont think I did anything for this to happpeb)! Thats why I will not touch that subject with you anymore.

Are you now gonna pretend that there are no ps4 or xbone fanboys in this thread? Because if you are.....wow.

You don't have to respond, i already know the answer.

I feel like a better reason to cancel a preorder is because this game will likely be the usual Ubisoft open-world shit, instead of some downgraded resolution.

I assume you are trolling.

You'd be surprised...

It's funny how XBO not hitting 1080p is due to hardware limitations. But when the PS4 is under it's due to lazy developers. 1080p is not some feature on the PS4, if it's important to a developer they will design their game with that in mind, like Infamous:SS. On multi platform games it is more difficult to optimize compared to exclusive titles designed around a single architecture.

Yes.

The game better look fucking amazing and have intricate, interacting systems out the wahzoo if it can't hit 1080p. Infamous set a pretty high bar.

The first reveal ran supposedly on a GTX680(maybe even an SLI setup) which is basically running circles around the PS4's GPU. It would be unrealistic to except the same level of graphics on a PS4.

I wasnt expecting that same graphics really. The problem is the disparity. I mean, there was no surprise about the graphical downgrade itself, that was expected; but releasing it, downgraded, at lower resolution, to reach 30fps, that actually generated that frustrating feeling.

Wait I thought all ps4 games were going to be 1080p now and forever? I was told that bf4 was just rushed for launch and that I should expect that developers wouldn't drop the resolution on the ps4 in future.

it was not a day one patch, more like a week one patch and it was announced after the game was released

Four days, to be precise.
And I'm pretty sure 900p was an accident with that game. The game runs way too well in 1080p for it to have been an afterthought.

As a infamous fan second son was nothing but a showcase of the image quality we could get, early on, from the ps4 the rest of the game was a let down (outside of characters/characterisation) let's not pretend it had complex ai or anything. It was a ps3 game with shiny graphics
according to you of course, because it seems you're speaking on behalf of everyone and i surely disagree with you

I'm becoming straight up cynical now as reading the same "the Wii U will be x quality" joke for the millionth time is never getting old.

I need a break. Save me Transistor please get here soon.

Maybe the game suffered because of last gen versions.Maybe this is just like DS2 where the game suffered downgrades due to being unplayable on PS360 on the old build.

I bet PS360 took the most work.

Definitely not. But that is beside the point. I was a 4 year old with a Nes just having a shit load of fun. That's all that mattered then, and it's pretty much what matters to me now
There ARE some lows I don't want to see, but I don't think this is going to be Two Worlds NEXT GEN EDITION where it looks like crap and has a crap framerate too. And that'd matter then too, Ghosts & Goblins is one of those 30 or less FPS NES games and combined with that just being a hardass frustrating game I can see kids going "this is dumb" and shutting it off. I don't remember beating the first stage in a rental anyway and got frustrated at the VC version with save states.

its funny because never in the history of consoles has a new console port of a last gen game suffered for anything.

And to think, some of you guys thought the game would run at 1080p 60fps on PS4....

lol, this one got me and now i woke up my wife :)

I don't care about frame rates and resolutions as long as the game will be fun. I will buy the game for the wiiu because of the tablet features, even though i have a wonderful new pc with a fancy new raedon which could probably play the game with a much better res and fps than the 4/1/U version.

But if the game gets bad review scores i wont buy it at launch. Simple as that. So bring on the fun. Greatness awaits those who enjoy their games regardless of some fancy numbers or crazy fanboys.

Hah, a nice piece of false advertising... though if I ever get around to playing Watch Dogs, I'm going for the PC version, so makes no difference to me.

Still, if I were considering the PS4 version, I wouldn't be happy!

Wow my longest running pre order on Amazon cancelled. I expected 1080 on PS4 and 900 on the Xbox one. Now everything about this game tells me it is not a version of the the PC version optimised for each system, but instead the PS360 versions upscaled to fit on the new consoles.

I already have a good feeling what the candidates will be for game of the year, but only this one cries out Turkey of the year. I think I'm Ubidone. Now I'm really worried about our next glimpse of The division, wow *shudders*

Why the Wii U? It's not coming out in May, it doesn't even have a release date yet.

Wasn't expecting this, I was certain it was going to be 1080p after that downgrade fiasco. I guess those TW3 rumors have some credence now? Regardless, definitely going to look into getting my PC polished up.

"D"

I'm extremely insecure with how much f2p mobile games are encroaching on Nintendo
What's gonna be funny is if this game is seriously good, like, really REALLY good...all the people that naysay'd and whatnot here are going to eat copious amounts of crow all because the 1080p/downgrade/60fps stuff turned them away and all the PREORDER CANCELLED shiz. This will be an interesting launch for this game lol.

you're going to be waiting a long time to play this on the WiiU buddy.......the new Zelda if it gets announced has a better chance of releasing first than this game.

I know this is a lost cause, but I'll try anyway:

People need to understand there's way more going in one game frame than just rendering processing. This is true for any game, but specially for open-world games. Streaming, LoD handling, a lot of complex AI, traffic simulation, tons of dynamic physic bodies, online and so many more things. Add to that all the compromises made in order to make the game logic run in lesser platforms (there's usually a lot of additional CPU cycles being wasted on making everything more efficient memory-wise, and logic code is not usually rewritten for different platforms), which is not giving rendering much time if the game frame wants to take 33ms on average (and look somewhat decent)

Before getting angry I'd wait to actually play and see the game in movement. Claiming that this game is a technologic disaster just because it can't reach the fanboy and TV industry-set milestone of 1080p is very shortsighted, even for NeoGAF standards.

I predicted some time ago that this gen games would commonly be 900p on PS4 and 720p on Xbox One, with a common frame rate of 30fps. I guess I was close enough.

The thing is, Infamous was PS4 exclusive.

Therefore is was able to take greater advantage of the PS4's capabilities and harness more of its raw power.

Buddy, later this year. It was specifically mentioned in the character trailer (the latest trailer) from Ubisoft. And in the investor presentation from Nintendo.

Because of the gamepad !
and I can really wait for it. I do have a gigantic backlog and I'm currently replaying Baldur's Gate 2 and want to play P4Golden in the immediate future.

1080p for tv's has been a standard for what now, 9-10 years? Come the fuck on consoles, get with the damn times, it should have been a standard this gen but this game is another indication of games pushing less pixels and more fancy effects the more this gen goes on.

Do not know what the situation is like in america but here in the netherlands i'm pretty sure the biggest majority of folks has a 1080p screen in their household.

Considering there are first party One games that aren't 1080p and there's a single non-1080p game on the PS4, you might forgive people for having different opinions on the relative power of the consoles.

Pretending everything is equal and it's people who are funny for reacting differently is like conservative talk radio.

Ground Zeroes is a multiplatform title that is 1080p and a totally locked 60fps on PS4. Be that as it may, the reason different explanations are given for the different consoles is because of facts, not bias. The fact is, many games run below 1080p on Xbox One, and all of the multiplats run below PS4. On PS4, there has only been one game before this without a native resolution, and it is twice the framerate (and wasn't delayed 6 months for polish either). Watch Dogs is the worst-performing game released on PS4.

Those are all quite good reasons to believe that Xbox One has endemic issues with 1080p, and PS4 has developer issues. (Even if that turns out not to be the case.)

Definitely not. But that is beside the point. I was a 4 year old with a Nes just having a shit load of fun. That's all that mattered then, and it's pretty much what matters to me now
I have never understood this argument. It is precisely the same as saying "I really like this Monet poster I have, there's no point to the actual painting with its greater detail. It could burn up tomorrow and that'd be meaningless."

I can understand why it would be 30fps, but the CPU doesn't affect the resolution.

People are reacting strongly because they thought almost every PS4 game would be 1080p this gen. It's looking less and less likely as time goes on. We're not even past cross gen yet.

Remember Cerny saying they wouldn't really get to use the systems capability until three or so years in... I think.
