Why should I boycott it if it doesn't affect me personally? I'm aware of it and have the bandwidthAs I pointed out in another thread, these kind of practices should be boycotted. Selling an incomplete disc is anti-consumer and unacceptable. They might as well just place it as DD only if this is the solution they come up with.
Is there anything on the box saying an internet connection is required?
Are there any other incidents of this on current gen consoles yet?
I'm lucky enough not to have a bandwidth cap, but I feel for those that do.
As mentioned in the other thread, I think it just comes with the territory on iDTech 5, because Megatextures. This is insane if true. That patch must have some pretty huge things in it.
It's not even about the bandwidth cap I feel sorry millions of people that haven't connected their console to the internet for whatever reason. Considering this is a single player game and will be potentially buying a worthless disk.
This.So a completely single player game requires an online patch or else it isn't functional? How does this shit get past cert?
If this becomes a norm in the future what would really be great of both console manufacturers is allowing the end user to download the patch ahead of time.
Pretty much. Why should I boycott it if it doesn't affect me personally? I'm aware of it and have the bandwidth
I mean, come on, I understand why this is bullshit and feel for those without internet, but I would never go so far as to boycott
Anyone who calls somebody human garbage over a Day 1 patch issue in a video game should reassess their priorites in life.Anyone that defends this is human garbage.

But what if you don't have your console connected online at all, or have no internet for the time being? What happens? This is what I want to know. It may just be he got prompted to a huge update because he is connected online..Just assuming here.
It's already compressed on the disc, but compression has its limits. You can't just compress a 100GB game down to 50GB.

Anyone that defends this is human garbage. Disgusting.

Ah, okay. So how big is this game uncompressed?
You have to have connected the xbox one at some point by now as the machine wouldn't work otherwise. Still a shitty move but I'm going to wait for confirmation before hanging them out to dry. It's not even about the bandwidth cap I feel sorry millions of people that haven't connected their console to the internet for whatever reason. It will affect you once the next generation of consoles is well underway and they shut down access for the old DLC.Why should I boycott it if it doesn't affect me personally? I'm aware of it and have the bandwidth
That's not self important. That's just wanting to buy a videogame I like the look of. I'm not obligated to boycott just because someone else can't play it.Are you serious? This self-important attitude is more damaging to the industry than any other. This goes beyond a mere online issue, we're talking about an incomplete product being sold at full price. How can you not see this as a problem?
They never said it wasn't a problem. But its a problem that doesn't affect them, so they're not going to miss out on a game they want because of it.Are you serious? Just what this game needed. Some stupid fucking controversy to pop up the week before release
I'm not too happy about having to wait until like 4 hours after I first put the disc in (since I'm leaving on a weeklong vacation that evening and wanted to put some hours in), but now this shit will sour a lot of people. Understandably so, but it's disappointing because the game looks super promising.#WolfensteinNoD1Patch guys!!!!

Dont worry about the horse armor dude. Nothing will come of it.I can't believe some people don't care because they aren't affected. It about consumer-rights. We need to stop them right here or they will find in the future even worse ideas to fuck us consumers. And then even the ones who don't care today are going to be affected.
