We've seen a couple minutes of solid gun play at most (probably closer to a minute). I'm not quite sure how people are drawing a "Gears clone" conclusion outside of the aesthetics.

I'm not saying it isn't or cannot be, just that I feel we've barely seen anything on the gun play of the game.

Because the game comprises of mainly shooting and they haven't showed anything else. Personally if you show off a game to the world, even a glimpse, at least show what is unique to your game. The first Uncharted trailer I knew the game will give me a sense of adventure, the first Mass Effect trailer I knew it isn't just a regular shooter but a RPG. This to me just looks like a Gears clone in victorian Londoon, but with no multiplayer. The argument of they have had the chance to show everything is lame, they gave us a E3 Teaser, a QTE shooting gameplay video and now this video. Yet everyone still thing it looks like a Gears clone, why would you make a game and have 3 reveals that dont show off your game properly, perhaps this is exactly what the game is thats why.

Love the contrast between the gray surroundings and the neon blue burst.

That's fair enough. I just feel that we've only been teased so far, being mostly shown cut scenes. Hopefully E3 gives a better impression of what the game is like, assuming it is more than what we've seen so far.

I don't mind that this is a Gears clone, but my main disappointment is lack of multiplayer, co-op or deathmatch. The only way I would care about a shooter without multiplayer is if it was a RPG like Mass Effect or Fallout or if it had a really good story like The Last of Us.

I hope we get a long campaign.

People aren't calling the game boring because you're shooting in a third person shooter. They're calling it boring because out of a 2 minute clip you have:

- Staying behind cover in the same spot shooting enemies
- Scripted drag-guy away section
- Cutscene

I'm super excited for this game but it was a pretty bad choice of section to show off.

The chop is from the twitch stream, but I agree they should just release it on Youtube or better yet some other site that doesn't compress to shit.

The choppy state was because of Twitch, not the game.
OK then, I could only see the youtube video so I really couldn't tell. If they nail the technical and visual aspects, that's one thing now they need to convince people the game is worth being played. That's a battle Sony have yet to win...

WinBack on the N64 did it before kill.switch so you should really link to videos of that.

Gears made it massively successful, and kicked off the actual trend last generation. As a result, generic cover-based shooters will always and forever be considered Gears clones. It was the first game to really do it right, and in my opinion does cover and battle encounters better than any other third person cover-based shooter.

Releasing a high quality video on Gamersyde isn't going to change the fact that the gameplay looks mind numbingly boring.

I don't think anyone has issue with the quality of visuals seen in the Twitch stream. It looks phenomenal.

And you're saying this based off of a less than 2 minute gameplay sequence?

I'm surprised at how many people are writing the game off at a minute of gameplay. Yeah, it was probably a bad clip to show, but come on, don't judge a symphony by it's first note.

graphics and and animation look nuts, and the atmosphere looks great. The section they showed looked pretty run-of-the mill gameplay wise, but this segment is obviously not a 'stand-out' moment, and you could take any comparable section from any other third person shooter.

Let's wait and see what else they have to show, presumably at E3

It looks perfectly fine, but upon watching that video, it immediately felt and looked like Gears of War. The dark, foreboding atmosphere, the movement, etc. Very Gears like.

I know opinions and all but I'm having a hard time calling what I saw boring? It has it's own twist on traditional TPS with having unique weapons and all and the destructibility element (from demos they've given private) sound like it'd blow people's minds. Traditional gameplay for the genre, with their own unique twist on it, is fine for me. Doesn't need to be this mind blowing thing that I've never seen before (which honestly no game this gen thus far, both released and teased, has been able to do that.)

Amazing graphics. Just beautiful.

The enemy AI looked laughably bad. They were just standing on the balcony waiting to be shot. At least, that's how it looked on the stream.

The graphics look fantastic. Hopefully they can iron out the tearing and choppiness.

But it's just frustrating that they keep regurgitating the same area over and over in their gameplay reveals , and show nothing but standard 3rd person shooting. If they would show Galahad exploring a densely populated London city street or subway terminal or something like that, it would shut everyone up. They bring the negative reaction upon themselves by selling their game short . Hope we see something new at E3.

I don't think people are judging the entire game based on this reveal. But peole are actually judging based on the footage released, which is honestly quite underwhelming apart from graphics of course.

Sony doesn't release hq videos anymore, they are YouTube only except for some rare cases where they either give the video to some site, or host it themselves. But it's usually against their new rule of pushing their YouTube channel as much as possible.

So yeah, 99% chance we won't host this video...

Hopes and dreams crushed. It's fine blimblim, once you overthrow youtube with the hosting site, we'll be swimming in HQ footage.

There really is a market for a high quality you tube type site for promotional vids by game developers.

The stream did the game no favours.

I just won't care about these new next/current-gen games until they actually do something new with gameplay.

Same game we've been playing for five years.

That game play clip looked amazing. Can't wait to hear more about the game. I don't understand all the hate given the limited amount of information we have been given.
