Huh? What did I say? Did I screw up again? :(

Does anyone remember this show? I was watching the transformation sequence because I love the music and I couldn't help but to remember how the show took a weird slant of the MC not being the main pilot of the giant robo. I'm not sure if its multiple decades of anime drilling into me what an MC in a giant robo anime should be but I really struggled to find the MC not lacking and the main pilot didn't even feel like a character. It's like the whole series I kept having to tell my brain who the MC was and also the main pilot wasn't supposed to matter. The shoe basically drove me insane :(

Exuh-Men-uh Days of Future Past

What an amazing movie and I'm pretty sure it's now my favorite X-Men film. Everybody gave stellar performances and the ending? Wow, just wow, please serve that for me in a platter amazing. Quicksilver-kun needs his own movie. Who knew that Tate had it in him to be the best part of the whole movie.

This movie gets 9/10 Woofdawgs. Which is the best kind of rating.

Tomorrow's episode is going to be fun in many different ways.

I expect to be upset at the plot progressions just as much as I was with episode 19. At the very least we should be out of the woods with the melodrama and it should go back to being funny Nisekoi again for the last episode.

It's not the Ben-To contest you probably would have wanted, but if you have any cooking skills, Right Stuf's Bento Contest is a worth taking a look at. You could turn your culinary creations into a little extra spending cash... which I suppose you could put towards an order of Ben-To anyway.
Considering entering this because my imouto knows how to make traditional bento.

Anyone not watching "Knights of Sidonia" is missing out. I even started reading the manga cos it's so good

I'm thinking about just reading the manga. While I think the mech action scenes look pretty spectacular, I found the visuals to be really distracting and ugly, in a way I can't really appreciate :[

Yeah I haven't kept up with the show but the manga is pretty decent. Read that and move on to Nihei's other (and better) manga series.

The waifu wars are over.

C'mon now, this can't be your first waifu war.

It doesn't work that way.

No sorry. I read the manga too and it was just melodrama after melodrama then a random interjection of harem hijinks awkward comedy. It couldn't decide if it wanted to be Gantz in space or Infinite Stratos. Not to mention how awkward the animation was. It's like watching the first Berserk Golden Age Arc film, only with crappier art style (both in anime and manga) and animation felt like it was going 15 fps with every step they took.

Hmm. The lukewarm responses I'd been seeing had me chicken out. Not that I need much to not watch a supers movie...I've been mostly burnt out for years and wishing the bubble would burst.

So Scott and Jean are back?

The movie has a like a 91% in RT, with a 98% among top critics. It's good. I don't know who is giving you lukewarm reactions.

Spoiler answers to your question in both cases

short answer
yes
long answer
they rewrite the entire x-men timeline, taking away all the bullshit and giving possibilities of both past films that follow a new timeline and future/current films where everybody is happier and alive. Including Scott and Jean

It's the "dreary" look, I think. I got used to it though cos the story is so great. The manga has some crazy twists and the anime won't come close to where that's at (just 12 eps for some reason)

I'd put the manga right up there with some of the best I've read. I really think they did the adaptation a disservice by making it so short

Acquaintances who are comic fans mostly. Of course I'm still annoyed at how they treated the Phoenix story on film, so I've been skittish about a hack job on Days of Future Past.

No, they are just shoehorning in Wilbel into the plot so they tacked on Linca's character events from Ayesha into this episode expect it had no resolution and just ended on a weird note.
Ah. Probably would've been more interesting if it were recapping something important from Ayesha, though the plots sounded stand alone enough so that'd probably still be crap.

Thinking of the best mangas I've read, why was "20th Century Boys" never animated? I feel it was much better than "Monster" (which was great)

If it helps the movie does a really good job showing the after math of the universe of the 'modern' X-Men and the remaining X-Men. I thought that timeline stuff was pretty sweet action wise.

The past stuff was all kinds of groovy though. I don't lie when I say that Quicksilver stole the show, everybody was in love with the dude. Also Mystique has a really big role in the film. I went it with 4 of the most cynical nerd friends I know and we all came out really enjoying it.

I guess this'll come down on whether you trust the opinion of comic book geeks, who are harder to please in general, or professional critics.

Didn't look at the list of anime for summer and holy mother of god, there are so many fucking shows I wanna watch.

Mushishi Zoku Shou Episode 7:

Erg, episodes like this are why this series just does not click with me the majority of time, everything was proficient but I just lacked any sort of emotional investment. I really do think where this series has gone wrong is focusing on some random villager per episode instead of focusing on the actual main character of Ginko, or at the very least give him more then five minutes of screen time and maybe have him actually do something. I really do want to like this series but it just lacks in getting me to actually give a toss about anything more often then not. Animation was decidedly bland this week as well.

Gundam Wing(english dub)

So I saw probably half the episodes on toonami when I was a kid. I'm now doing a full rewatch and it is still entertaining, but in different ways to me now. First off, the dub is absolutely horrendous. They barely made the dialogue fit into english, and most lines sound like 3rd graders reading sentences to the best of their ability. The plot has some pretty interesting ideas here and there, but they execute so poorly on it that you can barely hold in your suspension of disbelief. The characters do not react appropriately to some pretty significant situations. I mean fuck,
Everyone are slobbering on Hero's dick even after he blows up the fucking peace advocating generals. All they do is imply how unfortunate it is that that happened. Everyone knows everything and all intentions of the other characters unless it becomes important that they don't know.

At any rate, the action is fun. Maybe a little mary sue, but at least they run out of ammo sometimes. It's really dumb at times, but it is quite entertaining to see what illogical contrivance pops up next.

I see Mushishi sort of as a parable for adults, mixed with a little bit of House. I think the draw comes from the calm atmosphere and seeing how mushishi get mixed up in people's lives for the better or worse in a very flowery and literary way. It probably asks more of the viewer than usual as far as investing themselves emotionally, but it works for me. If the show was more Ginko-focused (season one has a couple episodes that are), it would be a pretty dramatic shift in presentation and tone. Not to say it would be worse; just very different.

So uh I only care about Gekkan Shoujo, Space Dandy, and Aldnoah Zero. I'll also begrudgingly watch SAO 2 until the pain in my brain becomes too intense.

But everything else looks like shit to me. It's making me miss Fall more and more Log Horizon where art thou!?

I mean I'll probably give a lot of first episodes a try but it looks like this season will largely be backlog and western tv season.

I started Vikings from History Channel. It's fucking sweet yo

I suppose it is just most of the time I am reminded of the superior Kino's Journey, I will say it is a damn fine series that just happens to bore me most of the time.

I couldn't get past the literal bad animation, like seriously some of the worst mo cap or what ever the fuck was going on there.
