I don't think it was ever a rumor, just speculation because it's such an obvious move. It'll happen whenever they're ready to announce the single player DLC.

Personally think this one of the best times to own a gaming PC. You can play any last gen game with higher frames and resolutions, plus good mods. You can get them for dirt cheap often. Can play the majority of next gen third parties, plus there's loads of exclusives like Moba's mmo's and mid tier pc games, and a decades long back log....

I got the impression stuff like L4D and Witcher 2 were exclusive on 360 only because of ease of development over PS3 and NA userbase. Now that the tables have turned it wouldn't make much sense to me to release exclusive to Xbone. SOMA seems like a game that would have been 360 console exclusive last gen, but this gen it's console exclusive on PS4 for example.
I'm sure Capcom covets much more than that for the franchise. Capcom might think that Microsoft paying the marketing bill and then some could be just what the IP needs to make it big in the West. And it being not such a big seller could be just what makes it a more easy target for an exclusivity deal.

But there's always the issue of price drops various deals and bundles. Which is why it always makes sense to wait. Especially if your not going to use it much.

I feel like it's more likely for Valve to want to avoid XBO just to spite MS.

Rumors are just rumors, even if they came from someone I respect. The Order is still schedule to release this year, until is confirmed it's not.
We will see soon though, but right now everything is speculation.
Yes, and unless you can handle the disappointment of delays, then you shouldn't be getting consoles before all of those games are available. I only bought a PS4 early because inFamous:SS had a firm release date, there are "free" PS+ games I can play and because I have a backlog of what is probably closer to 200 PS3, 360, Wii, Wii U, DS, 3DS, PSP & Vita games (even more with PS+), which I can use to fill the drought between PS4 (& Wii U) games.

Between DriveClub, PS4 Exclusive Indie games (Witness, ect), and deffinitive 3rd party versions of games, they should be good for this fall....
Its a bit odd though, normally Sony throws tons of games out their within their first years (the first years of the PS3 was really good; Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank Future and Uncharted 1). Even the Vita had a killer 1st year (let alone launch....now that was amazing
)!
With the PS4....it does need a few more 1st party games (I think....Sony Bends PS4 game, DriveClub, and Project Beast will be the ones this year)....
As for Order, I think a slight delay to early next year is a great move; between this being Ready at Dawns first time working on a home console and really needing to push out another killer game by them (Ghost of Sparta and Daxter will always be great games in my book), some more time to polish the game would be good .
Either way, we just have to see what happens.

If talking about an investment as in having future benefits coming about after putting in money to buy it; then it is an investment. Those future benefits can just be enjoyable games.

So how many hundreds of thousands in sales will they be sacrificing because of this move? Feb is a nice month with tax returns coming in but no way does it compare to Nov's Black Friday.

I like delays. Too many games today have release schedules that completely fuck over the QA process within the studio. It will be good the longer Sony delays so they can get their tools and stuff up to par so they can finish games easier. Right now the worst thing possible is to release an underwhelming blockbuster. Or an unfinished game like KZ.
