Well this sucks... Once again EA in their apparently never ending conquest for total market domination have once again mutated and ruined another franchise in a vain, short-sighted and feeble attempt to compete with Call of Duty.
Annualization of the franchise's games, micro-transactions in $60 games, $15 map packs, season passes disguised as some sort of "Membership". I guess the only other thing left to do is bring on a third developer to help make more yearly releases and switch to a 3-year development cycle.
Christ, EA's marketing, advertising and public relations teams are going to a very difficult time trying to drum up any real excitement and hype for this after the absolute disaster that was Battlefield 4.
It boggles my mind how people can be even remotely excited for this? Sure Visceral's developing it but good god do people have amnesia, Stockholm syndrome or such a short term memory they you can't remember what EA has done to the Battlefield franchise?
It's a cruel joke, BF4's been out 7 months and there's still a multitude of glitches, bugs and inherent problems with the game on a fundamental level, and what do they do? Announce that the game's getting micro-transactions and the next game's coming out...
