Forza Horizon 2 announced (360, Xbox One), releasing this fall

I certainly did not expect to see a 360 version of Forza Horizon 2. I'm extremely intrigued as to what the differences are between the versions.
The original Forza Horizon is the only great game Microsoft has published in the past few years, so I've been anticipating the reveal of the one game that would have any chance of tempting me to buy a Xbox One in the next couple years. So while I get the negativity from people, I'm personally pleasantly surprised.
I'm not expecting miracles with the 360 version or anything. I would be thrilled if it were on par with FM1 from a tech perspective, but considering that Playground isn't handling that version and that there may be more ambitious additions to FH2 that would affect performance on 360, I'm not necessarily expecting it to.
Now that they've set out to make a 360 version of this game, I hope that they ensure it is of a similar level of polish as the original and also that Microsoft doesn't pull another Titanfall 360 with this version and categorically ignore and practically deny its existence.

Even if you don't think that FH2 will sell more on 360 than on Xbone, it's still extra money for MS.

Not that it's really definitive proof of anything, but Titanfall for Xbox One on Amazon US is the #9 best selling video game product this year. Titanfall on 360 is #25. And what makes it more impressive is that it's at #9 despite the fact that pretty much every single person buying an Xbox One now is getting Titanfall for free.

I wasn't the guy who was disappointed MS stopped making first party games for the original Xbox after the 360 was released, I was that other guy who was disappointed that God of War 2 was on PS2 instead of PS3.
The MS hate is strong, not just on GAF but pretty much everywhere else.

360 version is gonna be done by another studio, similar to how Titanfall was handled. Except this time, we know the Xbone version is using a next gen engine.
So if I had to guess, Horizon 2 on the 360 will look like Horizon 1, and Xbone Horizon 2 will look like Forza 5.

Weather? Southern Europe? Sounds great so far.
Drivatars need a serious overhaul though, with a priority to drive clean before taking on a user's personality.
Also looking forward to seeing how large the world is. Horizon didn't take long to feel a bit cramped.

Southern Europe? Uhmmm would be interesting to see the border between France and Spain, the Pyrenees would make for an interesting setting.
Don't let the name fool you. Horizon is something completely different from the Motorsports series.

True but for the average guy like me who doesn't have an xbone this doesn't really compel me to get one. Same reason why I've never played Ass creed. There's too many of them with a new one popping up each year that I just say pass.

Really hope part 2 is much better then 1. 1 was so freaking boring... the drivable world was way to small. Scenery was beautifull but gets dull really fast. It was a good effort but much like watchdogs, part 2 most likely going to be much much better.
Graphics was pretty much all horizon had.
Got bored with it after about 20 hours. Finished it and hardly ever played it again.
Fm1-4 i played hundreds of hours. Maybe even in the thousands for fm2.
And most defenetly bring drivetrain swaps and setup for the car from fm5. In horizon i had an old mini with 360 kw and only topped at 200km/h.... because of no settings to tune...

it's a brand name.
horizon is completely different than the main forza. Forza has always been on a two year dev cycle, they just added a different developer to it making a different type of game.

Well, there was God of War II, though that was a last gen exclusive that got a next gen update in a collection a few years later.
On the other hand, the XB1 is in a position akin to the PS3 this time... And that also came out the SPRING after the PS3 did, just under half a year I believe.

I don't like the regular Forza games (other than the painting) but Horizon was excellent. I'll get the 360 version if it's decent.
I never understand this viewpoint. I mean a year is a long time, how many of you play the same game for more than a year?.
Guys, remember that even though Forza is a Microsoft franchise, Playground Games is not. If the game doesn't sell, well, Playground Games will be fucked. Just remember that Forza 5, made by Microsoft itself, is an exclusive title.

Fuuuuuuuccccckkkkk I am so hyped. Even though I knew this was coming Horizon was the best racing game of last gen. I can't wait to see it in action.

You're telling me that I don't even need an X1 for this? That's pretty great news. The game itself is not surprising. I'll also predict that Forza 6 will be out in next Fall, and Horizon 3 after that. MS will keep milking the Forza name as much as they can.

it's the first year, if they're still doing it 4 years from now, then I could see the issue.
titanfall was built first for Xbox one and ported down by a different developer, same thing with FH2. I really don't get how this ruins the Xbox one versions somehow.

Microsoft got absolutely slaughtered for abandoning the original Xbox. They simply can't win.
To be fair to the people with honest reservations there is a chance they adjust some of the design decisions knowing it would be impossible to port. I don't think they will do that very much if at all but knowing your game needs to be able to perform on a weaker platform may change some things.
I understand that some people just want to see them go all out on the new thing to help justify the purchase but I am sure part of the decision to release cross gen was based on the sales of Forza 5. I want more Horizons so anything that will help with the sales seems like a good idea to me. Also its cool that they are still supporting the 360 wish they would have done more of it the last couple of years.

This is great news, imo.
I always hated how MS would abandon their previous system to push the new one. Glad they are still supporting the 360 all well and good.

First parties are expected to showcase the hardware they're on. If Microsoft doesn't do it, who will?
360 owners that don't have the Xbox One don't feel like they need to upgrade, early One adopters feel like they spent 499 bucks on a new system to play slightly prettier versions of the same games, which they may not be happy about unless they're huge graphics enthusiasts, and which may prompt them to wait longer next time.
