STEAM | June 2014 - Enhanced Electronics Edition

Thief was released on PC and consoles at the same time, and it received on consoles 50% off before Steam and Steam even only had 33%.
They gave Thief out for free with GPUs and codes were on the cheap before launch.

Also how does JaseC own everything and not played Hotline Miami? It's amazing.

Finally beat the first section in Volgarr. Feels good! But it's not counting this as a checkpoint.

...

What's in that first pic? Sure looks like a giant blue crystal to me! So where's my damn checkpoint??? :p

You can only "skip" (by going left) to the start of a level, not the midpoint checkpoint.

So if you reach a midpoint? Well done, congratulations. But you will need to finish the level before you get any help next time you start the game.

So yeah, keep going :)

Speaking of 2D platformers, 1001 Spikes is really, really good. Beyond the main game, you also get bonus arcade games which are great in their own right. For example a tower climber which is reminiscent of something like Kid Icarus only even better.
Seriously, check it out.

Is Spelunky a good game to play if I'm heartbroken?

I don't need to play anything with a story or the like right now, cause I can't focus.

It might help you. For me games like Spelunky, Dark Souls is good escapism since it requires you to focus largely on it's gameplay, not the story.

I've been playing Spelunky and Luftrausers on my monitor lately and dear god I forgot how bad input lag was on TVs in comparison

it's hard to go back

get him

I have idled in Hotline Miami, so there's that. ;)

Discounting games by less on Steam is somewhat common among certain publishers. This practice peaked during the Summer and Winter Sales of 2012 (I'm sure you all remember the comments about how Amazon was kicking Steam's butt), but it still happens here and there.

Also how does JaseC own everything and not played Hotline Miami? It's amazing.

It's not an Ubi game. :p

Yes, bought it for 13$. But like I said, it's about Steam vs. PSN, not Steam vs. GMG vs. PSN vs. XBL.

Still not about Steam.

But sure, GMG can join the chat too.
This may be the Steam thread, but PC gaming is not locked to a single distributor. I'm simply talking of the fact that on the PC platform as a whole, games can be cheap at any time, even pre launch.

Indeed.

The achievements are all super easy, though there is one that might be difficult to do. It took me a few tries as it requires clearing a mission without taking damage.

Which of these is it?
Astebreed - unlock GET READY - £0.10
Astebreed - unlock LIGHTNING - £0.25
Astebreed - unlock BREAKTHROUGH - £0.50

Yeah but that's not fair to PSN! How dare you counter his terrible and pointless argument with common sense.

Steam is seen by many people as the centre, the core of PC gaming and many people only uses Steam, no GMG, GamersGate, Gamefly etc. That's why I only had a Steam vs. PSN discussion.

If I wanted GMG and the others shops to join I would probably just say PSN vs. PC gaming.

You should probably try and make your argument to those people then. Everyone here knows 600 ways to get games on Steam without having to buy them on Steam.

People fell for GI again lmao

Yes, a "random" editor-in-chief is just casually going to reveal a big E3 surprise on twitter.

Please elaborate?

You tried to present PSN in a more favorable light by cherry picking a single sale and dismissing one of the PC platforms greatest strengths, and you did it in the Steam thread of all places.

I'm sorry, I was actually referring to DmC's "Every Hero Has a Weakness", worth 0.25 on Playfire. Is Astebreed fun?

Well it's like Zone of the Enders from what I hear, gonna try it today.

For DmC, I'll just get as many as I can. I do feel like replaying with the aid of a video guide but won't have the time to do a 2nd clean up playthrough til tomorrow and even then I may not have enough time to get all the cheevos for the rewards XD

If anyone has a spare Circuits code (currently in the newest Bundle Bandits), let me know.
Kind of interested in the game.

//EDIT: JaseC is the best, a man among men, a scholar and a saint.

What's wrong with saying something positive about PSN in a Steam thread?

I did everything over two days of slow playing in DmC, just play on Human difficulty and skip all cutscenes. Also, you can find souls/keys and just exit levels, the progress stays so you don't need to beat the levels.

Eh I prefer Normal, as much as I want the rewards, I'm really enjoying the game. Lower difficulty would make it less fun. Normal is just right.
