The Legend of Zelda Wii-U Shown at Nintendo Digital Event ["2015"]

She looks pretty

You got me. I thought this was real

Thank you, sir. When I saw the "open world" description, I rolled my eyes. Better to say it's going to be a normal or old school Zelda game.

If people want to credit Skyrim, or even if Aonuma does, whatever. To me this is just Zelda being Zelda.

Even if they want to credit Skyrim (because of 3D or who knows), may as well just credit Morrowind.

I really LOVE the art style. Plus the idea of an open world Zelda is more than we could ever ask for. This is the game that most Wii U owners have been waiting for.

Looks amazing IMO.

I like the new visual design and if the world actually looks something like what they showed this is going to be amazing

Yeah, I also think that Link is female. And, just for the record, I have nothing against that. Not in the least. (In turn Princess Zelda needs to be male. I'm kinda inflexible in my pairings.)

Aaaanyway.

I think they've found an artstyle that will remain pretty timeless. Looks pretty nice. Looking forward to more info and footage.

ElTorro

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.
I hope they add a meaningful population: more villages, more people. The number of inhabitants of Hyrule was always very limited by hardware and thus very unrealistic.

I gotta laugh at the "Link looks like a girl" comments. He looks fine. At least he's not a toddler with a head bigger than his body. This is close to what I imagined when I first heard that Zelda was going to be cel-shaded, before the Wind Waker design shattered my dreams.

If this game is as good as (or hopefully better than) Wind Waker, then finally, I can release my hatred and die in peace.

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"

Once again, I mean, come on. Observe the posture and smaller torso compared to the legs. It's SO a girl.

Can't wait!

What I got.

*sigh*

The tech demo had a really nice environment, but horrible Link. Gohma was impressive.

New Zelda is brilliant and beautiful and finally looks like the painting Skyward Sword was supposed to look like.

I will take the new one, thanks.

Miyamoto always said that he wants Link to be a rather anonymous character into which the player can project him/herself. Hence Link's silence. It would make a ton of sense to let the player chose between a male and a female Link. Would be a great idea.

You know at first I was disappointed that it doesn't look more like the old tech demo but I'm such a sucker for colorful games. I'm loving HD Nintendo so far because despite having HD games for a generation not nearly enough big budget games have been this colorful. Its one of the reasons I like Rares games on the 360.
I don't care about the graphics. Just make the game faster. Give me a ALBW in 3D. Start fast and action, action, action.

No more relying on fetch quests, either.
Meh. I don't want a front-loaded full dungeon tutorial but I like the more adventuring elements in Zelda like Majora's Mask. I like that 3D Zelda isn't all action.

Nintendo has faked us out 3 times now. Teasing a realistic Zelda, and going the other way with a cel shaded look. Did it with Wind Waker and kind of again for Skyward Sword. This new style looks absolutely GORGEOUS. I have no doubt it will look absolutely incredible. It already seems to rival and surpass many next gen games. But I still wanted to see the e3 2011 Tech Demo style. That could have been amazing as well. And I feel like that art style would have made the game a much bigger seller on Wii U than the current one.

They used that style on tech demo to gather attention and then do again what they did in 2001. I'm very upset and frustrated, but l think that's the most beautiful game I ever saw. Just don't like the fact that it's a Zelda.

Man I'm really loving that overworld, I hope it's massive. Just can't wait to start exploring, can't remember the last time I got that feeling with a Zelda game. Had to abandon Zelda for fresher games to get my exploring kicks. But just watching the grass blow and the birds singing has got me pumped.

They should have really went with a Mii in place of Link to piss everybody off just to be fair.

I was thinking the same, but then I thought it would be cool if it's a lesbian story. Won't happen though.

Agree 100%.

The one thing I am worried about is the difficulty curve. There was basically zero difficulty curve in ALBW. Also, renting items was a failed experiment that needs to stay far away from this game.

The artstyle... Not entirely sure yet. I like it more than the demo. But it could be a style that is visually extremely noisy. The number of steps they use for shading seems like a bit much. But again, i need to see more. Can't wait to see more.

Why does Link jump off the horse to shoot the thing? Kinda pointless, dude. Like some showboat crap Legolas would do.

To get a higher vantage point or something, I dunno cuz it looks cool, maybe his horse is an asshole, how dare you, I'm sorry, screw you, forgive me.

god damn wow. I dunno if I should get excited after Skyward Sword and the two DS games, but once again I'm on the hype train

I think you should be excited after ALBW, assuming the emphasis on nonlinear exploration and minimal exposition/handholding continues.
