Hyrule Warriors: new official website update (June 26) [Up: full-size screenshots]

Brown is for 'full body image' and blue is for the DLC costumes.

Also, the costume DLC is paid. It costs money. 100% confirmed. It says so on the page.
At least in Japan, and if it is in Japan, it better be paid in the West or I'll be pissed.

thank you.

and hell yeah paid DLC, I am willing to pay if they are willing to work on many of the ones I want which is all of them except the disco stew dancing guy in Wind Waker he should be free
He can't dance

In this Treehouse video, around the 7:50 mark, the Treehouse fellow says it pains him how he can't talk about all of the game's secrets, such as the huge roster of characters, but also he really wants to talk about the game's OTHER main mode, which he says is where most people will spend most of their time. The mode they were showing off at E3 is Legend mode -- I'm guessing that's the campaign. So I'm guessing the mode he can't talk about is a dream mode where you can play as all of the villains?

El Capitan Todd
is my hype legitimate, GAF? I can't wait to play it.
BTW, are those bullshots or they increased the quality of (at least) the character models from the E3 build?

The other mode is probably the same as dream mode / extra log from Ken's Rage / Pirate Warriors. Where you go through the stages as any character as opposed to the few you get to choose during the story.

Either that or they actually completely remade Twilight Princess in HD and added it as a surprise.

if only D:

No idea what Nintendo will do in the West, since they're the one publishing the game. Who gets to decide whether those costumes are free or not? I'm sure there'll be some sort of LE with those, though that'd be a first for Nintendo.

So I really hope they're free or sold separately.

Majora Ganondorf surfing a Gohma

Actually, how BADASS would that be if Ganondorf put on Majora's Mask in Hyrule Warriors?

Since they've shown currency, my biggest hope is they have the same feature as Pirate Warriors 2 where you can use money to level your character up to whatever you highest character is.

he also says almost half the characters are women so I guess the Harem Dream is dead lol

right now for playables 1 male vs 5 female

so we have a lot of male characters coming

I would feel bad for StreetsAhead

Nintendo does have paid DLC in some games on 3DS even though Pikmin 3 had nothing but free bonus stuff

this is very different I'm willing to pay $1 :)

Reposting from the other thread:

For the costumes, there's a Courage Set, Wisdom Set, and Power Set with three costumes each, so presumably there are more versions of Link/Zelda/Ganon(???) to come.

Based on the titles it seems the sets are divided by character. Orcarina seems like the obvious choice for another set.

Considering the the theme so far I would guess the third costumes would also be from games. Wind Waker Ganondorf seems like one and Skyward Sword Link would be another as he's the last adult Link before the Wii U one (who doesn't even have a proper costume yet). I think they'll have a separate character slot just for child Link.

I wonder if Zelda's third costumes could also be Skyward Sword? None of her outfits seem to translate well to battle. Maybe they'll have a Tetra outfit as I think there is less of a chance of a child Zelda character appearing in the game.

As for other character guesses I think Ghirahim and Skull Kid seem the most obvious. Phantom Zelda, Darunia the Goron sage from Orcarina and Demise would be my other character guesses.

Rupees are said to be used to upgrade weapons and buy items to level up characters

not sure if they will share features from Pirate Warriors tho

I'm sure Nintendo could give us the dlc for free in the west while they're publishing it over here. They did something similar with Monster Hunter 3 on Wii. Japanese had to pay a monthly fee for online if I remember correctly. Servers were maintained by Capcom there while Nintendo did it in the west.

If I were a betting man with rupees to spare:

SUPER-SAFE BETS:

- Ganondorf, virtually guaranteed
- Ganon, if not accounted for in 'dorf
- Zant, likely playable in dream mode
- Valga -- see above
- Wizro -- see above
- Cia -- see above

SAFE BETS:

- Ghirahim (SS was a big deal)
- Demise (SS was a big deal)
- Groose (SS was a big deal)
- Skull Kid (fan service ahoy!)
- True Midna (fan service ahoy!)
- Tingle (because Tingle)

DECENT BETS:

- Saria (loli fan service, could be "Safe Bet")
- Darunia / Dangoro (Gorons, represent)
- Ruto (fan-wank for Zora titties)
- Mikau (fishbone guitarrrrrr!!)
- Nabooru (Gerudo cheesecake, mmm)
- Ashei (warrior chick from TP)

FUN BETS:

- Twinrova / Koume & Kotake (fire and ice spells!)
- The Yetis, from Twilight Princess
- Adult Malon / Cremia (fan-wank a-go-go)
- Happy Mask Salesman (creepy!)

BIG ?-MARKS:

- Vaati... Same reason as above

MAAAYBE:

- Aghanim... Yuga... Shadow Link... Maple... Crazy Tracey...

Considering this is a musou game, we are currently dangerously low on handsome men. KT will need to scout some out to beef up the roster to their usual standard.

Handsomedorf incoming.

they already confirmed only half the playable roster is female so you are safe to get all the handsome you need

that dude with the creepy tongue is in I'm sure

WAIT

What if King Zora is playable
Is he gonna roll over enemies, Katamari style?

I'm sure there will be more guys, but what if they're all freaks? (And not the good kind?)

Link doesn't like sharing his pretty boy crown, so the Zelda series on a whole is lacking in studs. Ganondorf sometimes, but not much else. (Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe Groose.)

How come no one remembers Ghirahim by name?

I do. I loved everything about him. There was something beautiful messed up with the almost sexual-glee he had when talking about killing you. He's ridiculous vanity added to it. Really liked his design and his fighting style a lot too.

unless you get a newbie like Lana's big handsome brother

this is still the Zelda Universe

so name one normal male in the Zelda world outside of Link that did not end up being a Princess who loves male clothing?

every other male has been kinda freaky

It would make sense to add Malon. I hope they do. Dunno what her moveset would be like though. Maybe she can hug the enemies to death? Or call upon Epona to trample everything. Or both.

By the way, a bit off-topic but uh....anyone have any advice on the best place to pick up a Wii U in Japan? Doesn't look like they are doing the refurb deal here.

I am still hopping we get Happy Mask Salesman.

I feel that when Aunoma mentioned in an interview tthe character roster and said something the lines of "why did you pick that one!?" he was talking about Agitha and the Salesman.

Yeah, that's what I mean. Male characters in Zelda games tend to be one of three things.

-Link
-Zelda dressed as a dude
-Gigantic freaks/psychos

I'd be down with brand new male characters. It just feels super weird to have a musou game with no army of impossibly handsome men.

I liked Ghirahim in Skyward Sword, he was a great villain, he's very much like Pouf from Hunter x Hunter. I hope he gets to make an appearance.

They did it! They somehow made the moon even creepier! I think it's the nose.

Also, (probably already discussed) has the sheikah symbol always been at the back of the Fused Shadow?
