Hyrule Warriors: new official website update (June 26) [Up: full-size screenshots]

Sorry if this has been asked in here already, but how many playable characters do Warriors games usually end up getting? Just wondering if there is potential for more characters in this game.

I always loved Malon, so would love to have her in.

The last one had like 70 characters.

he really wants to talk about the game's OTHER main mode, which he says is where most people will spend most of their time. The mode they were showing off at E3 is Legend mode -- I'm guessing that's the campaign. So I'm guessing the mode he can't talk about is a dream mode where you can play as all of the villains?

I suspect it's one where you can play as anyone who's unlocked. Think along the lines of the TTG Lego games' Free Play mode.

That would of course include villains.

The games based on licensed stories don't have that many though do they? I'm not expecting 70+ playable characters for Hyrule Warriors. I'm not sure how many i expect but it's certainly less than 70.

More would be grand but i'm thinking maybe 10-20 realistically?

I want Tott in this game. He's so mysterious, and those dance moves could pack a wallop. Tassels in your EYES!

I was listening to this song when this gif popped up, and it was perfectly in sync for a number of iterations, and we had a tranquil moment. If he's in the game, there better be spontaneous dance battles.

Maturity, bitches.
Malladus (final boss form) should get some love. He can summon his Demon Train to attack. We can forget the lame-o from Phantom Hourglass.

Hyrule Warriors has a better Link design, but Twilight Princess has a better Zelda design. All in all, I'm pretty happy they're giving me that choice!

we should only expect 15 - 20 for Hyrule Warriors and that is counting DLC reskins

at most I see a number under 25

the people worrying it would only be 9 need not worry it should at least hit 15 I think

Pirate Warriors 2 has over 20 playable http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/One_Piece:_Pirate_Warriors_2

Put it this way: The very first *real* Musou in the series (Dynasty Warriors 1 was a straight fighter, so I'm going from 2) still had *28* characters in it. That's before[/i[] they went nuts.

Edit: Oh, good point about the differences between licensed titles, though.

Hope this game gets a lot more content from older Zelda games.

Twilight Princess content is unimaginative and pretty much just HD ports of the same designs.

I want to see some creativity go into bringing content from older games into this HD style.

Even Ocarina of Time content is way more interesting to see than Twilight Princess.

Navi is playable

her main attack is "HEY, LISTEN!"

yup much better than Midna

Castorp, is that you?
And though it seems more likely Tecmo Koei's advocation, the DLC costumes work well with something like Zelda. TP Zelda is so bitching compared to her NEON-BLONDE barbie version.
Lana does seem completely flat and fairly out of place in Zelda's universe. Winking is as bad a habit as the Dreamworks eye-brow raise.

I love it. Every time they show something new, my hype is expanding to critical levels.

PS: We need all the DLC costumes in the west.

Yeah, 10 - 20 sounds about right. The characters have multiple weapons though, giving them seemingly completely different movesets too. Pirate Warriors 1 had 12 playable characters, so as this is Hyrule Warriors 1, that's the number I saw as realistic all the way back when the game was announced.

So do we know if Zant and Aragork are playable yet? I mean I know Cia and friends got those profiles too, but they could be playable still right? And did other boss monsters like King Dodongo ever get pages?

Lana looks amazingly out of place. It's such a boring character design, the face could win prizes for being generic.

Wow, that settles it. As soon as Bayonetta 2 and this game come out, I'm getting a Wii U. Never been a Nintendo fan, but there's just too much cool, exclusive stuff coming out for the machine.

Every time a new character is revealed or new screenshots are released, I just get more hyped. Must be the Musou fan in me.

Heh, talk about DLC that reaches me.

Nintendo shall make money off my ass if this is paid DLC, these TP outifits are mine no matter what happens.
