I hope they refined the AI.
I read a few weeks ago that they scrapped the whole AI system shortly prior to release of the Ps3 version, so they didn't have much time for the AI.
It was shortly before the first playable press event. There's a GDC talk about it if you're interested, very cool stuff.

First I've heard about this. Shame. It seems most of the features of the balance of power system were dropped for a more traditional approach. Hunter's don't seem to be able to run out of ammo and they are somewhat drawn to you where you hide in a static position.

Where's the quote that the AI is getting changed - this sounds intriguing?

They threw out the old system because they weren't happy with it, so I don't think it's a shame.

I was blown away by the AI in the game personally, it's the most fun I ever had fighting AI dudes in a shooter.

EDIT: It's not a quote, it's a GDC talk.

Just got the PS3 version as a gift, should I keep it or pay 50 for remastered?
If you care about things like vastly improved performance/image quality and other graphical effects, I'd recommend waiting 4 weeks for the remastered version. Experiencing it the first time with a far better version is a no brainer.

We still don't know anything about that PS3 to PS4 upgrade option Naughty Dog was thinking about.. Maybe he should keep it for now

You need to set the PS4 to your main for the us account also.

What if I've already got this PS4 set as a main account (UK) - I need to keep it like this because my son and I share games.

If I do a USA account and set that to the main account (I think it's Primary), wouldn't this then mess up our UK account that we have PS+ going through?

Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Now im scared.

I still remember the first time they revealed the clickers in a gameplay snippet of the subway. Up until that point, I hadn't realized how scary this game was going to be. Worst (best) of all, I saw the gameplay late at night in the dark with headphones on and actually jumped / semi-freaked out at the enemies.

So awesome.

I think the $50 price point pretty much kills any chance of an "upgrade option". That was a pipe-dream when we thought it was $60, now it's basically absurd.

Even if there is an upgrade option
very slim chance
I can't see it working with physical copies.

As far as I've read, the only thing that will carry over are purchased DLC for multiplayer and everything else will be new for PS4. New save files, new trophies, and all progress for multiplayer is starting from 0.

Oh my god :( I dont want to replay everything... cross-save should be mandatory for remasters.

Hated this for Tomb Raider. What's the point of duplicate trophies.

If there is an upgrade option (there won't be) it would probably work the same way as the bf4/ac4/ghosts upgrade worked.

Maybe in the sense that you need to keep the PS3 copy in your PS4, but no way in hell would they only charge $10 for the upgrade like those. But I agree, any argument is moot, it isn't happening.

Plat'ed it once, I'll plat it again. Wouldn't complain if they shared a list, but I'd rather they didn't.

Thanks for linking this - it's very interesting so far.

Man it's getting harder and harder to wait for the Remaster it's so soon but I'm dying to start another playthrough....my PS3 copy is staring at me.

The hotel basement was pretty scary I thought.

I had a "Jurassic Park" moment the first time
I turned on the generator and turned around only to find that bloater standing behind me.

I couldn't even manage a scream. I just threw all of my Molotov at him then ran like Road Runner upstairs.

Of course, I couldn't figure out how to open the stupid door for a few seconds and at that point, I actually understood for the first time the horror of being chased by a killer while trying to open a stupid door
.

Well yeah, I was talking about keeping the disc, not the price.

I started playing the single player again a few hours ago. Had to pickup where I left off on Survivor+...completely forgot how to play. Today was also the very first time I actually grabbed an enemy character on a higher surface by dragging him down from his feet and bashing his head in. So badass. Don't know how I'm barely seeing it.

Wow. Holy goddamn shit at that part. I swear I almost had a heart attack.

"Ok... If I turn this generator on, something nasty will come out of the shadows.... Something nasty will DEFINITELY come out of there. Yep. Something horrible. It's waiting. There. If I make any noise... Ok. But I HAVE to do this. Here it goes. Yeah. Here it goes.... *BROOM BROOM* FUUUUUUUCK!! RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN!!! WHERE'S THE EXIT!? NO!!! FUCK! HOW MANY OF THESE GUY.... A BLOATER!? NOPE! FUCK FUCK FUCK! RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN!!!"

My hands were dripping sweat and my eyes were sticking out of their orbits.

I can not wait to play through the story again, it's been long enough now that I'm almost starting to forget just how great it was....kinda like it's a lingering memory, but not to that extent.

Talking of the basement part, i don't think my heart has ever pounded as hard as it was during that part. I had NO idea where the exit was, it was terrifying. Thank the lord i had so much ammo saved by that point.

ND definitely confirmed it, just not how consistent the rate is.

I kind of get it.

If they "confirm" it's locked and there are some drops, they will be raked over the coals for it.

If they say it's "mostly" 60 or "almost always" 60, people will say devs always exaggerate and that the game must be a fluctuating mess.

What's the upside? Best to simply not say anything other than "we're shooting for 60".

This is the first gen where games "around 60" are no longer 60 fps. Something like Calladuty wouldn't qualify!

RAGE wins my heart tho.

I really wouldn't worry about that.
Actually I don't understand if you're ''worried'' that the frame rate will be 30fps with spikes to 60fps in the most barren, calm sequences?
Naughty Dog would never claim 60fps if that was the case.
As with every other game 60 fps means that the game in ''normal situations'' will always be at 60fps.
Of course if the frame rate drops with many enemies on screen and tons of effects going on, that's pretty normal. If we're excluding from the 60fps list, games with frame drops in the most intense scenes then probably that list will be really really short.
Personally I was pretty satisfied with the fluidity of the Tomb Raider Remaster and that was more 45fps+ compared to 60fps.

I don't expect it to never dip below 60fps, but I do expect it 99.5% of the time - similar to Uncharted sticking to 30fps in all but the rarest circumstances. I definitely expect something better than TLoU's performance on PS3.
