Show us your gaming setup: 2014 Edition

I love threads like this, hate being late to the party but here's my setup, please excuse the wires! :)

Whered you get this tv stand if you dont mind me asking? Been looking for one with lots of compartments for a long time, my systems are kind of scattered right now. also open to other suggestions if anyone else knows of some

After slowly killing myself trying to do all my cabling neat and organized and relatively low-profile/hidden whilst replacing my old TV stand and moving it to a wall mount, I have newfound respect for anyone who does it and makes it look so fucking beautiful.

My life is a semi-organized, semi-mess, nightmare of cables and I'm screaming internally right now.

That looks a lot like the Ikea Lack TV stand/sofa table (don't remember what they call it).

God I know. Pain in the ass to try and hide the massive amount of cables. I got cables from the direct tv box, the tv itself, the sound system, the PC and all it's components back there and the PS4 lol. Shocked the single block on the electric panel can handle it all but I pretty much have everything as energy efficient as possible.

PC gaming on the living room TV is glorious. Can't wait to sell this tower and get a steam machine sometime in the future.

Pretty happy with what I have here, want to replace the entertainment stand in the future as it has limited shelf space at the bottom. Need to get some wire management on the front left and right speaker wire to hide it by the base boards. Behind the entertainment stand is a nightmare of a snake pit so I judicially kept those out of the shot...

Thanks for sharing. Hate that photobucket doesn't share that info and abload only shares totals (which is 120k and 59.97 GB usage since I started using it two months ago).

This thread has a post/view ratio of roughly 1:355. Gaffers room/homes seem to draw some attention.

That doesn't surprise me, I know I check it every couple of days.

Man, computers are brutal. Mine will be my next big challenge.

For me, my challenge with my TV setup is just the quantity of devices. 5 consoles, Kinect/PS4 camera, Bluray player, cable box, receiver, etc. Consoles go into an HDMI switch. It's a lot to organize and hide on a unit with no backing.

I'm not staying in this place more than 12 months so I'm not bothering to mount TV/Speakers on the wall.

Panasonic 50" plasma, Marantz slim line 7.1 receiver, Martin Logan Motion 4 Left, Right and Surround, Motion 8 center and Martin Logan Dynamo 700 sub. WiiU, PS3, PS4, Vita Sony Gold Wireless Headphones.

That's a lot of stuff. For how long will you be away?

Probably about a year, though it could end up much longer. Depends on how long I'm able to keep working here. I'm thinking about shipping over some stuff once I get my own place (PS4, Wii U and some games) but I already miss my gaming rig and 60" TV haha

Hopefully I can get a decent set up in my apartment here once I find one.

Nice room.

Could you please tell me which lens and which focal length did you use on your DSLR?

Sweet set up but you should get a better monitor to compliment that bad boy Mac Pro.

Nice collection :)

Thanks :))

Love that case.

Odd question, but what do your floors look like? Carpet? Hardwood?

It's a wood tile. :D

Why are all your games still in plastic?

Yes it is. I used a cutter (actually it's a Gunpla art knife) to open it
And a tape to keep the plastic on. So it will look like a brand new !!

Just like this. :))

And this is my old vid about how to do it. (I just re-upload it.)

These threads always make me said for trading stuff in.
For awhile I was trading in games and keeping the cases as a trophy.

Well I got a new TV and stand and am now using my old stand and TV as a computer screen.

However, the last 2 inches of the stand (in the back) were vents held up by these cheap plastic clips so I ended up buying a new stand which I was finally able to set up yesterday. I Love it!!! I also very recently got a Wii U for some Mario Kart and Donkey Kong action!

could you post your settings?

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-KDL70W85...iewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending

There's a couple different posts in the Review section on Amazon. "Best" settings are subjective depending on the person.

Obviously you're not gonna get the picture quality of the XBR series, but for this size at this value with these features, this is about as good as it gets.

Mine are closest to the one from May 7th, I have my backlight at 7 typically but may increase or decrease depending on the situation. I also have my sharpness toward the middle. I did some photo editing with i was younger and just never liked what increasing the sharpness did to the image. I've just never been a fan of a high sharpness setting. Most other settings are as recommended in Review comments.

Picture Mode - CUSTOM
Backlight - 7
Picture -
Brightness - 45
Color - 70
Hue - 0
Color Temperature - NEUTRAL
Sharpness - 52
Noise Reduction - Auto
MPEG Noise Reduction - Auto
Dot Noise Reduction - AUTO
Reality Creation - MANUAL
Resolution- MAX
Noise Filtering - MAX
Smooth Gradation - OFF
Motion flow - I've heard a lot of people say Smooth, but I prefer TRUE CINEMA for movies and STANDARD for gaming.
Cinemotion - AUTO
Advance Settings
- Black Corrector - HIGH
- Adv. Contrast Enhancer - HIGH
- Gamma - 0
- Auto Light Dimmer- OFF
- Clear White - OFF
- Live Color - MEDIUM
- Detail Enhancer - HIGH
- Edge Enhancer - HIGH
- Skin Naturalizer - OFF

What kind of desk is that..?

I got it from Dania Furniture a few years back. It's a TCT M2 and it's supposed to be for kids. I bought it because the front flips up like a drafting table and it was much cheaper than the adult version. It's a smaller desk but perfectly fine for me and I'm over 6'1".

Could you please tell me which lens and which focal length did you use on your DSLR?

It's a relatively inexpensive Tamron Aspherical 10-24mm lens. It was probably at 10mm which i guess is more effectively like 16mm on my camera.

Seems I'm not the only one to do something like that. I always just cut off the plastic on the top edge of the wrapper as it makes a little sleeve to slip the case in and out of. Keeps everything in brand new condition with virtually no effort.

This thread has SO much inspiration.

Am in the middle of a move to the first place of my own so will post pics after getting all set up - have a lot to live up to in this thread though ;P

Almost 100% of you guys have terrible wire management. Maybe it's my OCD, but I spent a lot of time thinking about the wires around my place when I got everything set up.

it is difficult to do depending on where your sockets are though. I'm lucky that I kind of have a 'false wall' of wall units from ikea, leaving some space behind where the cables can go and be super spaghetti without being noticable. But even then, just running cables from devices are difficult to hide - most of my devices have power/HDMI/ethernet running to them at least. And there are a lot of devices :)

I'm surprised there aren't better options for hiding cables. Iike shaped raceways that can sit against a wall and be fairly discreet. And why are so many cables black?

Loving everyones setups. Great thread as always.

Wires suck ass. Hence my Corsair Air 540.

Here is my setup, i just moved into a new place and the previous occupants didn't paint the reddish wall before they moved and since i'm pretty lazy i couldn't be bothered finishing it off :(

Planning on getting a nice TV and mounting it on the Red wall on a downward tilt above my case and soon to be White PS4, so i can lean back in my chair put my feet up on the desk and play some Destiny :)

I spent an hour making sure the HDMI and powercables were well hidden and nice. When everything was set up and boltet to the wall it turned out one of The hdmi cables were faulty :3 I almost cried.
