I once strongly considered working for the NPD group just so I could see the numbers in their full glory. Am I crazy?

Heck, maybe we won't get ANY numbers at all this month. That would be boring.

Actually, did we get any official numbers, last month?

Totally off-topic: So I PMed cboat and I asked him/her if something is canned or not. His reply is "its donde".

What the hell does donde mean?

Layoffs were announced today, they didn't happen today. They will happen over a series of internal announcements and processes that take weeks and months over the next year.

Gamasutra.
From an analyst:
Piper Jaffray said:
June NPD video game software sales fell -3% y/y, but Q2 overall grew 9%. Next gen SW represented 31% of total sales in June, compared to 43% in May and 22% in April, major titles in the month of June included Watch Dogs (Ubisoft), Mario Kart 8 (Nintendo), and UFC (EA). These Jun-14 releases were not strong enough, however, to offset a strong title from Sony (The Last of Us) in Jun-13.

I think Chobel was talking about whether a game/movie/tv show was cancelled, not whether CBOAT was canned/fired.

Though, now that you mention it, that is something to consider. Unlikely that CBOAT or many other [edit: XBOX-related] people are fired in this round of layoffs, but you never know.
