I hope not. I wasn't thread whining or calling anyone out. I was just surprised when I came into the thread about a firmware update that almost every comment seemed to be steered toward how one console did it first or whatever.

So I said that stuff, but instead of putting a :p face at the end to show I was joking, I added the "System Wars-ish" comment about MS announcing first just to show that I'm also guilty of doing the same crap I was railing against.

Just to be clear, people legitimately think Sony had this ready to go, and tested this update to release next week, set in motion solely because of the Microsoft update we just heard about.

That or they were simply waiting for Microsoft to make a move before they flipped the "On" switch.

You know, to rain on Microsoft's parade. The massive parade they were going to throw in celebration of their support of 3-D Blu-rays.

Because of how much positive press it has given them since their announcement.

Because so many people care.

I meant in the sense the timing of Sony's 3D Blu Ray announcement. Just yesterday doesn't cut it. They said it would come later a year ago however, MS announces ealier this week it will happen and then Sony say ME TOO!

That is what I meant.

Honestly they should of released this last week. I bet they are getting complaints for this in Japan. I also bet that's why Sony Japan tweeted it's coming next week!

Well, if it makes you feel better, I thought it was funny (and I'm even a Sony fangirl :p ).

Oh, and BTW, technically Sony did it first :p. I've been playing 3D blu rays on my playstation since before the xbox one was even out, nyah!

And to all those people saying they don't care, nyah to you too! I do, it was one of my three big things I was annoyed at Sony for not implementing already (sadly it's the first of the three they actually did and I have low hopes on seeing at least one of the three). And seemed to be the most egregious that they didn't have already.

I have had this problem since launch and I'm considering just sending the console back to Sony at this point.

Possibly both Sony and MS were waiting on a drive drop from AMD so they could run gpu-accelerated playback of 3d h.264. I understand the Vudu app on PS4 at least supports 3d, but the Vudu app (and possibly others) could just be using the CPU which isn't as power efficient.

Nice for those with the corresponding TV sets.

I find it somewhat hard to complain because coding to me seems like the most boring and convoluted mess of gibberish in existence, but still....can they seriously not cook up some folder organization and a wallpaper option? How much gibberish could that be?

When will Sony fix the LPCM in the audio settings?

when LPCM HDMI is enabled I get a low bitrate of 575kbs. Shouldn't it be much higher than that?

bitstream dts is 1.5mbps, for example.

And one person said, and argued, that all Sony Updates are simply trying to fix bugs that the previous updates created, in one big vicious cycle. People say and think weird things.



Thank goodness PS4 is getting 3D support. I have a great collection that appreciates it....I wonder how soon we will get it?

Its about time. I'm so hyped for this announcement. I have a nice 3D television that I bought when the PS4 came out. Now, I can finally watch those film in 3D.

Still waiting for the first new feature that's gonna be of any use to me. Share Factory isn't (it's pretty cool I suppose, but I'm fine with just trimming and uploading), this isn't (don't have a 3D TV).

This is cute and all, but I would like folders and MP3 support next. These should be
priorities. Along with S/R and UI customization.

Honestly, before even DNLA or MP3 I would like organization of my home screen/games list.

It takes me forever to scroll from one side to the other - to the point I've started deleting games just because of the clutter.

Where is are:
• Suspend and Resume
• YouTube Share upload and App
• Custom Themes
• Pause/Resume Download
• Even dimmer light bar (or completely turn it off)
• Being able to change PS4 Light strip colour

• OG PS1 Start Up sound
;)
• Being able to change PSN name

Or you know, both companies have been working on that requested feature for months and it's a coincidence that they are both releasing it around the same time? Not everything is a conspiracy you know.

Suspend/Resume, is what they promised. I don't want to hear about how great Sony is until they put the shit they promised in Feb 2013 on the machine. Why people care about 3D blu ray on the PS4 when you can buy blu ray player with 3D for 99 bucks.

PS4 is way smoother than X1 to operate. X1 load times and installs are horrendos.

I could care less about anything else, as long as PS4 is smooth and has fast install/downloads..I'm content.

You mean pick which game/movie you want to dloadfirst? If so xbox has had it since launch. You can pause or resume anything while downloading or installing.
