Pic of the day. In this Smash Bros. installment, this little guy is also making an appearance! I…don't know his name, but he's the Prince of the Sablé Kingdom. He's from the Game Boy game Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru (translated as The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls), which was only released in Japan.

Here's the trophy of the Sablé Prince. He transforms into a snake or a frog, and unloads multiple attacks on any opponent he catches. Keep attacking your foes when they're trapped in his dust cloud.

Quoted as no one ever seems to do so and making it easier to find.

Looks pretty cool.

No, but the fact that the potd never explicitly states that he isn't playable but it gets quickly clarified is yet another thing that makes the way Ridley is being handled suspicious.

Like I was saying earlier, a lot of the new assist trophies really do look like a bunch of low tier characters that the internet was rooting hard for. Really nice to see Sakurai was at least listening to what we were wanting.

Donbe & Hikari - The main characters of Shin Onigashima, based on Momotaro (the Peach Boy) and Princess Kaguya (the Bamboo Princess) respectively. Donbe is the "dumb but strong" one, with Hikari as the "smart but weak" foil. Shin Onigashima is a text-based adventure, so they're essentially an open book to adapt; as a playable character, I think they'd work best as something between Pokemon Trainer and Rosalina, with the player controlling Hikari and ordering around the wild Donbe.

That game had such a kick-ass remix in Brawl for some weird reason. One of the best music in the game

Pretty much the biggest reason why Brawl's Summit was one of my favorite stages in that game. The composer went OFF on that track. :lol

No offense to anyone! I personally wanted some of the characters that ended up being assists. Let's be honest though. Characters like Skull Kid and Ashley probably never had a chance at being playable. Waluigi being a prime example. Mario is already bloated with characters. Sakurai wasn't gonna fill in another spot with a character that doesn't even appear in the platformers.

Dream rosters aren't fun to do with Smash bros being like Sakurai's fanfic in a game with some choices that he has to fit in like Mario and certain Pokemon.

You may like character like Bomberman or etc but Sakurai may have never even played their games before and misses the hype of that character and could have been playing like Megaman and etc in his free time that doesn't include those that you think of.

I doubt a good portion of characters come up in development process , though it's not like Sakurai is too open with that or anything at all for the most part.

I could see room cheering for megaman to be in and laughing at some with some fake coughs in the mix.
