You know looking at the videos. I have to say 343 take what you've done with H2A multiplayer and copy that for halo 5 and you will have a winner.

Never played Halo before, so I'm wondering something. What will be looking better, this remastered version of Halo 2 or the Halo 3 game with its non-remastered treatement? Because H2A is looking pretty damn good!

Hm, thinking about it, given the limitedness of Halo 2 Anniversary, I'm not expecting female Spartans (though I wish).

Halo 5, though! The beta!
I'm expecting Bonnie Ross to explain in a detailed PR release on why there are no female Spartans in Halo 5.

Joking aside, seems like given as both Reach and Halo 4 had them.

H2 BR was hitscan and had a tighter spread. H3 was not hitscan, so you had to lead your shots, making it a bit more difficult to land shots at range.

It got nerfed inadvertently thanks to crappy netcode, for the most part.

I see, thanks.

H2A for sure. It's getting the same 1080p 60fps treatment as Halo 3 but it is also built in the latest engine and consequently, probably has the best graphics we will see until Halo 5.

Hmm, I think Halo 4 will actually look pretty amazing in 1080p. The lighting engine was pretty sweet.

Halo 3 can also look pretty awesome at higher resolutions too.

The gameplay of halo 2 still holds up well. In a post COD world I want nothing more than halo 2 and 3 with a robust population. Thanks 343i

Halo 2 Steitzer would be an improvement over Halo 4 Steitzer.

Edit: What's more annoying is that the scoreboard at the end of a match is the truncated version instead of the full scoreboard (why do I have to press View to see the entire scoreboard??).

This is the one thing I liked.

Big Halo Maps > all other Halo maps.

Sidewinder/Blood Gulch/Containment/Zanzibar(?)/Waterworks/Headlong/etc 4 lyfe

well here's the thing. big team slayer maps in H:CE-H3 were fucking great because although they were big, they always had a great map flow and chokepoints, as in Containment, Sidewinder, Headlong, Sandtrap, etc. all used the WHOLE map to have battles play out. my gripe with Halo Reach's and Halo 4's uses of these larger maps is that the focus was lost and instead had many areas of those large maps go unused which created bad map flow. i like the really competitive small maps, but i also like the medium to larger maps, 343i just needs to make sure those larger maps stay focused and make good use of the space like the previous Halo games did so well.

Halo 3, ODST, and Reach are super underrated graphically.

Absolutely beautiful and very dynamic games.

FTFY.

But yeah, agreed. The lighting method in the Halo 3 engine is top notch, even today. Halo 3 ODST went beyond and looks even better, and Reach still looks very polished. My only major gripe with Halo 3 was the 'plastic' look to the armor and the faces (h3_lord_hood.jpg), and again my only major gripe with Reach was the inconsistent framerate. ODST was pretty much perfect aside from an odd frame duplication bug.

Everyone uploading 30fps footage makes me :(

edit: Jackfrags is playing in one of those matches, hope he's got some good captures coming up.

I hope Halo 3 is as good as I remember. I think it will be but it's hard to know due to everything I had going on at the time (just got married, bought a house so I was riding pretty high at that time).

I've been looking at the H2A Sanctuary footage all the while feeling like the art wasn't sitting well with me compared to the original. I was thinking as to why this is because I mean it's not like the original is much of a looker, it's dirt, some rocks, and stone architecture. So what was putting me off?

It's the sky.

I love that blue sky, always positively adds to the atmosphere and makes me feel cozy. The greys and yellows of H2A Sanctuary's overcast sky just gives it a more melancholic tone that has me feeling less at home with it; like playing outside as a kid and having the setting sun remind you that the fun's almost up and it's almost time to go home. If everything was kept as is but given a beautiful midday clear blue sky I think it'd be perfect.

Being someone who missed out on all the Hype the first time around.... aka I wasn't really a FPS gamer when H2 first released, how hyped should I be for this MP?

I feel pretty dang hyped.

I for one welcome our new melancholic skyboxes. Forge World was enough blue skies and green grass to last a generation.

On the opposite end of the spectrum we have Ascension. Bluest skies ever in the remake, while the original had more smog than LA.

This is a good observation.
