There's a lot of talk about AA in Reach and Halo 4 but how did people feel about the various equipment in Halo 3? Was it generally well-received? Do people like them?

Looking back now, I thought they were a great addition.

I thought they were pretty useless, but I didn't hate them. The power drainer was pretty good, and the bubble shield wasn't bad. The gravity lift, radar jammer, trip mine, and flashbang thing were all pretty lame IMO.

I personally dislik them. I feel it was the start of what ended up being armor abilities. That, along with the the maps of halo 3 made it the lesser of the original 3. Where (for me) you can count the number of bad maps on one hand from halo 2, you can equally only count the good maps from halo 3 on one hand. Armor abilities could be the reason I think the maps weren't as good. They changed the game play to much for me to enjoy it properly. Grab lift allowed acces to areas and the ability to avoid choke points. Bubble shield would prevent one shots. I believe that halo 2 was the perfect mp so I might have different outlook than everyone else.

Are you guys gonna change your mind about this Stinkles?

No dub at all is bad (no subtitles at all, wat?) but adding later the neutral spanish dub would make it worst, listening to it takes me to cringe city.

We got a proper redub with CEA so getting a proper one for this would be great.

This needs to be addressed formally, perhaps in a Bulletin or by Frank here.

Okay I'll admit that was pretty good, but it's still not nearly as good as the Halo 3 Beta tripmine. :p

Me too. It doesn't happen when I play but the "intent-lag" (I am not controlling the character /camera) makes me woozy after a while watching others play.

Thank God. The 60 FPS video footage hurt my eyes and started giving me a headache after watching a few times. I figured it wouldn't be the same when actually playing, but I'm still happy to see it said.

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
I didn't play too much of Halo 2 online (my internet back then wasn't the best) but is Halo 2's ranking system generally considered the best? It did always seem to me like Halo 3's was superior in how it catered to both markets -- there were skill based and non-skill based rankings.

I really wish they were doing a Master Chief Collection Xbox one bundle. I want to snag up an Xbox One to play MCC a long with other titles (I don't own any of the new gen consoles yet but I do have a gaming pc) but I kind of want a Halo themed XboxOne. Can't decide if I'm going to grab one of the new bundles this fall to play MCC or wait for Halo 5 (when they probably will do a Halo themed Xbox). I'm not a massive CoD fan (use to but they really ran it into the ground) but that 1TB bundle looks tasty plus Kevin Spacey Warfare.

I'm on ignore, I keep asking whether at least 2player splitscreen online/offline is in for any of the collection games or halo 5 and no one seems to want to tell me :(
Everyone's been asking about it, but there's been no response. My guess is that 343 is still figuring out whether they can make it work. Why else wouldn't they just confirm it? I really hope it makes it in.

I really enjoyed the twitch stream you guys had going on. 2v2 is always me and a friend of mines favorite playlist. It looked like halo 2 in many ways but also had some elements from halo 4 and reach such as medals. I do like medals because they motivate you really.

But everything looked much smoother in terms of animation. One of those odd things i noticed when i was watching.

If that was Halo 3, the first rocket would have only killed the first player. If that was Reach or Halo 4, they all would have died.

If that was Halo 3, only the first guy would have died. If that was Reach or Halo 4, they all would have died from the first one.

If it was Combat Evolved, the blue spartan would have lost their shields from the first rocket and suicided from the second.

in terms of just 1-50 ranks, Halo 2's was better without question.

Have you never played a 60fps game before?

Yeah, plenty. Something about those videos though got to me. That said, I've never watched any game footage online before that was actually playing at 60FPS, nor do I ever really watch anyone play games IRL, so it's probably not specific to this package.

Are all the glitches still in the remastered versions? Halo:CE and H2?

*edit*

By glitches I mean the weapon reloads and BxR, BxB and RRx double shot?

**edit**

I just watched that video. Ascension looks fucking gorgeous but the additions to Foundation look goddamn sketchy. Lift at sniper spawn? Wtf? And the jumps to Ring 3 were noobified. Sigh.

Any campaign glitches will still exist in both. Halo: CE multiplayer is the original CE multiplayer running at 1080p/60FPS so everything should more or less be the same. The 6 remastered H2A maps don't have any of the old glitches because it's a new engine, but the original H2 multiplayer is also included and the old glitches should more or less be the same as the original there as well.

I've just realized this game is going to re ignite the Halo fanbase. So much value in one $60 game. I'm buying the Xbox One for this and i bet there are more like me

$59.99 O__O
I know I'm gonna end up buying an X1 simply to play this. I hate myself.
I'm also thinking I'll end up buying one almost entirely to play Halo 2...what is my life?

Forza 5/Horizon 2 and Sunset Overdrive help of course.

Can you guys convince me that I'm not crazy?

I hope that 60fps will be the standard for almost every game in some years.

I'm so glad that Halo 5 is running in 60fps too.

Halo 5 needs to be ridiculously good now. No ones going to want to play another Halo 4 if you can just hop on Halo 2 for your Halo fix.

I have that too. When I want to look left and the guy playing looks right it makes me feel weird. Only for first person shooters though.

@Stinkles -

I just wanted to let you know that I have set a goal and went hog wild in July to reach it. I plan on using Halo:MCC to land on 400,000 gamerscore. I felt it fitting since it is 4 titles, and I'm hiting 4x100k. I had tried to use Reach to land on 200k, but due to the last-minute addition of 50gs to Reach's final DLC, I had to land on 200k 2 days before that DLC was released or have that goal broken by the additional 50 points.

I was pretty far off, but I went bannanas in July and earned 45,000gs (thank you Japanese visual novel games) to get close enough to the mark. I'm just under 378k now and my plan is to get to 396k on the nose by the time MCC releases so that I can live-stream from 396k to 400k, with my final achievement in MCC landing me there. I'll probably make it whatever version of solo legendary you include in the game as my final achievement, but we'll see.

Anyway I hope the guys at 343i carrying on the Halo torch into next gen like this homage, even if just a little. I also plan on hitting 500k with Halo 5 next year hopefully.

Does this include the multiplayer announcer? I really want all the games to retain their respective announcer audio!

IIRC whatever was there, is still there. Even the sound effects from Halo 2 are still there unless you turn on the "Anniversary" layer, with the new sound effects, new voicovers, etc. (For MP that would mean playing the H2:A playlist/maps).

Since Halo: CEA on 360 didn't include the MP, they'll be porting the assets from the original. Just up-rezzed and up-FPS'd.
