Well the schedule they had up a few minutes ago still said 3pm EST but it looks like people are starting to sit down now. Not sure if it really means anything though.

I'm honestly surprised how bulky that Pachirisu is. Early in XY I ran Emolga for a bit because I liked Nuzzle and its typing (I was going for a Nuzzle + Electro Ball combo), but I gave it up because its defenses were paper thin. Pachirisu has better defenses than Emolga, but not by much. It only has 10 more def than Emolga but took those SE earthquakes from freakin' Garchomp like a champ!

Normally I'd be rooting for a fellow American to win on our own soil, but I love seeing unique teams at these competitions rather than seeing nothing but Garchomp, Rotom and Friends. And for teams out of left field don't come any better than ones starring Pachirisu.

I also hope Se Jun Park wins so then there is a possibility the gift pokemon at next year's Worlds is a Follow Me Pachirisu of all things

That's perfectly valid strategy. All you need to do to counter sturdy is have a multi hit attack move.

Poison wouldn't work on Aron but would on something like roggenrolla.

Wonder what the speed stats were on those Aegislash (were they a tie). I mean the conventional wizdom of minimum speed to stay in shield for longest almost looks like crowd stupidity in that situation (had the higher HP one gone first it would take the kill, even against a shield forme).
