Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XIII: Leak Dynasty

Not open for further replies.
You know what the best part about this leak is?

Even if it's real, after the Japanese release, people will still be debating about the DLC shit. We're probably going to have months of speculation and conspiracy theories ahead of us!

I would hate every single person who questioned the DLC leak. I can understand the #TeamFake right now, but anyone who remained #TeamFake about the DLC would just be looking for wayward pixels.

Wow this thread grows fast.

I hope the stages part of the leak isn't true. It either shows that whoever took the photo had not unlocked many stages or that the stage selection isn't very good. In case this is the definite stage list, I hope the Wii U version has a better selection that represents all franchises.

Regarding the leak, it's slightly weird that Nintendo would risk sending a video with so many newcomers to ESRB. Rules say they should send the stuff that is important to the ranking so I don't see why they would put almost everything in the video. Theoretically they would need to show Wario and other "crude" characters, no need to show Bowser Jr., Dr. Mario, Dark Pit and others. Of course, ESRB thing could just be used to mislead people.

You're entitled to your opinion, but could you please explain why you like the Other M design? It's a completely incomprehensible mindset to me.

Mainly because he looks like a actual creature compared to the other look.

It's really just that neck. They're both thin but that other one is just too much for me to handle.
I know it's how he is on the SNES and it looks good there but in 3D I don't like it.

Seems like things are starting to calm down. We need a new pic, leaker!

EDIT: I'd also take one of those 8-second videos the pics are apparently from. If one of those leaked, can you even imagine? The meltdowns... they would be everywhere, and they would be a sight to behold.

Isn't this the best part about smash hype? When we're so close, the leaks are hotly debated. It's great. It's real, no it's fake. This is why it's real, this is why it's fake! Then the anticipation of what will confirm/deconfirm it! All the meltdowns from all the believers/nonbelievers. Fantastic.

Best. Game. Hype. Ever.

I don't think that'll happen. If the 3DS roster, plus that "Custom Fighter or Character" and the stages look the same, I don't think anyone will question that the DLC will come.

I just realized, if we get an official screenshot of the 3DS character roster and the names are gone or the characters are arranged this way(minus unlocks), it would probably confirm this whole thing without actually confirming a single character or stage.

What I wonder is whether DLC will be announced before the game comes out or not. If it's not announced, and there are glaring omissions from the roster... it'll be like the wild west of trying to figure out if they're still unlockable or if they're cut or if they're eventual DLC.

ESPECIALLY if the CSS doesn't fully fill up.

Will there be a mewtwo style unlock of 'play 20 hours'? What about longer? Who knows!?

Especially if the color changes are the same, too. Like fox.

Wait, what video?

Other M Ridley technically isn't Ridley.

And yeah Ridley's neck always made me question how he ate his food.

Never mind eating, how does his neck even support his head? It ought to snap like a twig.

Wait, what video?

There's a post on 4chan, allegedly from the leaker, claiming that his source has 20 photos and 9 videos of stuff given to the ESRB. None of these videos have seen the light of day, however.

If characters are time locked, I could see stages being time locked too. I could also see Sakurai have a stage available with the DLC characters. Let's assume that the remaining five characters outside of DLC are Dixie Kong, Mewtwo, Ridley, Mach Rider, and Impa. We'd get:

Lucas - Past Stage: New Pork City (ew)
Wolf O'Donnell - A new Star Fox stage
Chorus Kids - A Rhythm Heaven stage
Snake - Shadow Moses
Ice Climbers - A new Ice Climber stage
Impa - Past Stage: Temple
Dixie Kong - A new Donkey Kong stage
Mewtwo - A new Pokémon stage/old Pokémon stage
Mach Rider - A Mach Rider stage
Ridley - Pyrosphere

Pac-Man:
  • Taunt - Presents characters from throughout Namco's history
  • Side Smash: Blinky - Summons the infamous red ghost to attack opponents in front of Pac-Man
  • Neutral Special: Bonus Fruit - Pulls out one of the bonus fruit from the arcade game, functions like a normal projectile; hold the button to cycle through fruit, all projectiles have different trajectories and deal different amounts of damage
  • Side Special: Power Pellets - A series of power pellets in front of Pac-Man, he chomps away at the pellets while moving forward along the path; normally travels forward, can adjust trajectory with the analog stick
  • Up Special: Pac 'n' Jump - Pac-Man turns into a sphere and springs upward off a trampoline, can deal damage while rising upward, height increases with each bounce
  • Down Special: Fire Hydrant - Summons a fire hydrant beneath him and sprays opponents on both sides, does not deal damage but pushes opponents away; when used in the air, fire hydrant falls quickly and damages anyone it hits
  • Custom Down 1: Blaze Pyrant - Sprays out flames from the fire hydrant (-looking thing), can also inflict damage on the user
  • Custom Down 2: Bomb Hydrant - Drops an explosive fire hydrant beneath him, explodes on contact with the ground (when summoned from the air) or after a certain amount of time (when summoned on the ground)
  • Final Smash: Super Pac-Man - Transforms into a giant sphere, begins chomping away; opponents who get eaten revert to a pair of eyes (a la the ghosts in Pac-Man) and get blasted away as they receive damage

Will post more soon!

I still reckon the DLC won't be paid and instead it'll be included with the Wii U version, with a patch that updates (and maybe rebalances/bug-fixes) the 3DS version's roster.

At worst they'll make you pay for the DLC characters on the 3DS version if you don't already own and have the Wii U version registered to your NNID to try and entice the likely bigger 3DS audience to get the console version. Snake being DLC instead of being advertised with the default game or just outright cut, but I guess it could be too much work was put into him in Brawl to justify cutting him alongside Kojima obviously still wanting him in regardless of this 'leak' or not, but at the same time strained relationships between Nintendo and Konami meant he was way lower priority.

Still surprised at just how interested I am in Pac-Man after he was only behind Mii in how 'meh' I was about him when he got leaked over a year ago.

Thanks for the translations!

I wonder what the four ghosts on Wily's Castle were doing in Pac-Man's reveal trailer, if they're not one of his special moves. Maybe they're a customization?

This makes me so hyped!!! The amount of detail that goes into each character in order to pay tribute to their series is incredible!

Thanks for the translation, Masked Man! The descriptions of his custom down specials make them seem decently different from each other. So hyped to play as him!

Sorry if this has been pointed out but this just started bugging me in regards to the third set of leaks. Is it me or does Lucina not have a red palette in the team victory screen? All i see is a red highlight around the edges which Shulk lacks.

Leak oversight or new addition?

No thanks.
Not a fan of non damaging push back moves.
