Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Game of the Year Edition -- MB-BCB0610C30565776 - Taken by Rudakus

Played really quick before I had to take off, but why do I love this so much? Just completed set A, and the puzzles are pretty simple. The game is really easy to comprehend. Although I'm sure the puzzles are going to become more complex. The sounds in this game are so good, and really reminds me of Monument Valley. It is the perfect game to play after a stressful day. The whole atmosphere of it just makes you relax. I definitely recommend picking it up.

Clicked the link and discovered I had a coupon that put it down to £0.50. Fuck it, bought. Look forward to checking it out when I get off work, thanks for the write-up!

It's fun to shoot things in Rage if that's what you're after.

Did they ever fix the weird issue that game had with textures popping in everytime you would look at them? Or was that just a me thing? I didn't play more than an hour of it when it came out but I might boot it back up if that's at least better.

It's an id Tech 5 thing, and no.
It was better in Wolfenstein TNO, altho it was still noticeable there, but in RAGE...

iirc in second patch it go much better , almost none for me , but it might still happen if you set graphics beyond what your GPU/CPU can handle (i guess megatextures were pretty bad idea)

Not really. Beyond using the advice in this OP (CTRL-F for Texture Popping), setting the texture cache option to "Large" and enabling vt_useCudaTranscode 2 (if you have an Nvidia GPU), there's not much you can do. Some can play the game just fine whilst others still have issues.

Good shooting + a cool story with cool action moments.

I'll check it out.

Rage doesn't have the latter (assuming you're referring to set pieces with "cool action moments"), but the shooting part is sublime.

That wild looking Western game from Devolver got me looking at their page.

This game, Not A Hero, looks great. 2 1/4 D? Cover based pixel shooter? I'm completely on board.

Apparently, it's from the developers of OlliOlli, so there's that to get you excited. It's slated for a Summer 2014 release. Nothing on Steam, as of yet. Though, here in Florida, Summer can mean anything up until mid-January, so it looks on track to me.

In fact the first levels are very easy, but later on things get a little more tricky; incidentally I would recommend you not to overlook daily levels sets, I play them every day and some of them are so much fun!

Yeah Not A Hero will be a good game I think. Watch some gameplay to truly appreciate the insanity.

Bulletstorm?
This is a good idea actually! Been wanting to check it out for a long time.

edit: when it's on sale I'll jump in

Yea that's what I meant. Will still check it out though. Good gunplay is awesome.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. perhaps?
I tried STALKER with the misery mod and it seemed really cool but it was constantly stuttering and was unplayable.

You should consider Singularity too. Haven't played it yet myself but many people from here seem to be very fond of it

There's like a village on stilts or in the trees or something near the end of Rage where i literally just ran through it to get to the goal because i was already tired of the game. Hell, i'm pretty sure i just ran through the last third of the game because it got so tiresome. I was enjoying it for the first 2/3s, though.

also, i blinked and i almost missed the entire ending.

Pretty sure they've said Not A Hero is delayed to early 2015

What he said.
Also, during
the big boss fight
at the end
you can basically just... do nothing if you drop a couple of turrets.
The fact that there's only like 5 levels, but ooooh, you get to do them all backwards was pretty meh too.

Edit: my bad.

Cool I'll check out Singularity. I'm guessing Rage is a huge download so I'll save it for later.

Not that I need to get into any more games :lol

Haha, fortunately I didn't have to contact Steam Support till now but I heard a lot of horror stories about it. They should definitely do something because it hurts the image of their company, maybe hire JaseC
and give him a Valve employee sub :p

I asked Valve to remove Talisman: Digital Edition from my account, and was very clear about this, but I lost Talisman Prologue instead, haha. Fortunately, though, it's included in the Talisman: Digital Edition Gold Pack; unfortunately, I still couldn't redeem it since all included apps aside from TDE are set to be ignored by Steam's licence cross-check. Nomad's said it's asked Valve to change how the sub is set up, but if this hasn't happened by Monday I'm going to re-open my ticket and ask for TDE to be removed.

Behemoth put a teaser trailer for their new game.

From the Youtube description:
Shortly before the release of BattleBlock Theater we started working on something new. We schemed up a bunch of concepts and picked our strongest one. From there we fleshed out the lone survivor prototype!!! As it grew stronger and stronger, we polished it, furnished it with delights, and added (gluten free?) sprinkles. Yes, as the chicken dictates, this game is of a genre we haven’t covered before and seek to breathe a new flavor into. Maybe you can find a hint in the video about which genre it is??
