I have a story that's somewhat related to what's happening now. When this leaked scan first surfaced three years ago...

My first, immediate, gut reaction was "That's fake." I actually even said it out loud. "That's fake." But then I stopped and asked myself, "Why do I think it's fake?" I realised that it wasn't because it looked fake, or that it made sense to be fake. I said it because it was my worst nightmare coming true before my eyes.
We have a term for this kind of thing; it's called "denial". Just sayin'.

He's been alright lately. Outside of the one Smash Run picture this week, PotD has been great. Last week too (again, outside of one picture).

Enough people mistook Xenoblade for a third party game that Sakurai believed them.

Mega Man is DLC as Zero's alt, as that scan implied.
The ones who are most opposed to the leak, the ones who are getting angry about the leak... are the ones who don't want it to be real :/ If they were SO sure that it's fake, they'd have come to accept it, and moved on. If they're still fighting for reasons to make it fake... it makes it look like they secretly think there's a chance it's real... and that they're upset about the possibility.
No (reasonably sized) roster would make everyone happy. Some people are bound to be upset with it.

Since Famitsu has been released digitally, it seems like all scans (including this one, released digitally yesterday) are from the digital version. Is there any history of physical copies being in the wild prior to the digital ones?

Yeah I've seen you around in the Super Best Friends thread and some NBA threads I think. Similar interests.
I only believe the veteran DLC list (Lucas, Wolf, Ice Climbers, Snake and Chorus Men). Reason being, it came alongside the CSS screen and Duck Hunt, which are both very believable. There is no actual evidence for that other rumor (Ridley, Dixie, etc). Also, it just seems more realistic for the DLC to be mainly veterans. And Snake makes so much sense as a DLC hook.

The amount of trailers left don't necessarily equate to the amount of newcomers left. There will probably be secret characters with no pre-release trailers.
Pic of the day. "No, I'll just beat you within an inch of your life!" Demon Lord Ghirahim makes an appearance in Smash Bros!! He's an Assist Trophy, so he could conceivably back up Link, too.

Heath, I'mma do you a huge favor and strongly recommend you check out both Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 4 (Specifically the GCN version). Those are the two best games for the GameCube. I'm not exaggerating.

That's how I do read it. Like Shulk, he's with the third-party dudes. So he's out of place.
...My point being, I don't think Sakurai groups the third-party dudes separately. He just sticks them at the bottom of the roster. For whatever reason, Shulk ended up on the same row as Sonic/Pac-Man/Mega Man, just like Mr G&W ended up on the same row as Sonic/Snake.
It VERY LIKELY means nothing.

Good point made by Japanese fans...the 3rd Party Characters on in a different order than their stages.
Of course the Stages are never in the same order as their franchise, but in Brawl it was Snake and Sonic, and then MGS and Green Hill on the Stage Select.

Well then I have no idea why you thought you need to make a 3D model to make a blurry pic.That's not the correct room. It's this one.
And I know how to edit images. I'm an animator and work in both 3D and 2D, I have extensive knowledge of how to use Photoshop. Don't try to talk to me about not knowing how image editing works, yo.
You're focusing on the wrong thing. Anyone could fake this room. But nobody knew this room was in, at this specific angle, until the day after the leak. You would have to be INCREDIBLY lucky to not only choose a room that hasn't shown up in a screenshot before but to ALSO pick the correct angle for the room to be shown at.
But at least you agree its a room from the game rather than a Smash original like some were saying.
Also angle isn't hard. Every room has the door as the back wall.
Because rooms are random and you can get credibility by not reusing shown assets. Your post is exactly why someone would do that.
Also please note that six rooms are shown when the stage is in play and yet we've seen more than six rooms. Thus we can easily conclude that the room combination isn't fixed.

Masterlinkx also admitted to taking the real pictures and editing them to mess with people, like changing "disabled" to "disablad". He posted a picture that detailed that composition on the major Smashboards thread last night and deleted it later. I saw it myself, though. He has the original pictures, along with several others, but is not leaking them anymore.
Several Smashboards mods claim to be in touch with contacts that have confirmed what we have seen is not the final roster, but there is no intended character DLC at this time.
Believe what you will.

I know right? I'm on Smash Boards and I saw when those comments were made and I want to believe but I certainly won't set myself up for that. If it did come true I can't imagine anyone would be totally upset with the roster.
Why would they put him between the clone and third party bunch though? Those two are bunched at the end for a reason, so it makes no sense for Shulk to be there. As for G&W, why is he not nearer to the bottom of the selection screen? Has his importance skyrocketed?
This is casting doubt on the validity of this thing.

But all the clones are grouped together near the end of roster. If it was Lucina with the third parties with Dark Pit at the end of the above row I wouldn't really think twice about it but it makes no sense to go

Someone claiming to be him posted a thread on /v/ claiming that larger-sized Shulk was faked by a Xenoblade fan in Photoshop, with a screenshot as evidence. I didn't post it here because, to me, it looked he had just cut up the Shulk in Photoshop. However, it would line up my informant's comment from a couple days ago.
According to said /v/ user, that fan made the render in response to the very first leak coming out.
I'm skeptical, because, you know, 4chan.

Yeah I was thinking about the Berserker Lord. Anyway, Rundas isn't a particularly popular or important character. He's the most friendly of the 3 other hunters in MP3. That's it. Dark Samus is a much more important, cool, and workable character.

I would rather to see veteran DLC List to happens since I don't like to see characters getting cut. Also It would be weird to not see any new character for Legend of Zelda.

Surely not. I know it says in the TOS not to post scans, but you'd think that hella old images from something that isn't being printed or sold anymore would be allowed.

Not at all. Ridley and a 3rd DK Rep are two of my most wanted remaining newcomers, but I'm not sacrificing Ice Climbers for them.

Depends which Ridley. Ridley might be taller but I believe Berserker Lord is more massive.
