PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

TGS hasn't happened so its not killing at TGS. I think they spent more time showing western games than Vita also.

Gravity Daze didnt show up for either. Neither did Soul Sac. Everything remains the same, SCEJ didn't even have any collaborations or in studio games for Vita.
I've given up on SCEJ already. As long as third parties continue supporting the Vita, I'm fine with whatever happens. The conference exceeded my expectations, especially after Sony's disastrous E3 and Gamescom showings.

Opps, forgot this isn't TGS yet :(. They spent.....about 8-10 minutes talking about western games though (starting with Destiny and ending with Witcher 3), it only felt long due to them feeling glaringly out of place amongst the other games at the show.

And......it is very, very clear that Sony themselves are done with the platform, so after Oshoka, that is if for first party support on Vita X(. That isn't a bad thing though, as the third parties are filling that gap in spades (lots of great third party games for Vita :D! Ys and God Eater 2 Burst landing on Vita for example :)).

If anything, expect Gravity Rush 2 and Soul Sacrifice 2 to land on PS4 and/or them being cross-platform (PSV/PS4). Sony will NOT make Vita games anymore....but that doesn't mean they won't finish up the stuff they have been working on for the platform; they will ride it out until they have nothing left to put on the system.

In for Danganronpa 2 and Minecraft. Thinking about Disgaea 4 or Hyperdimension Neptunia for the Vita, though.

Don't know what happend that made me want HDN, but I guess I have to kill my prejudice sooner rather than later.

Danganronpa 2, because the current trend of the Vita is despair, not sardine.

Are you kidding me XD! If anything the Vita is killing it at TGS :D! We got almost 24+ minutes devoted to the device on the show and many PS3/PS4 games (One Piece Matsu, God Eater 2 Burst, Ys, ect) are also landing on Vita too. The only bad thing about the Vita at the show was a lack of Gravity Rush 2 but considering it isn't 'officially' TGS yet, there still is time for that to be shown off :).

Not trying to go back to that all negative, but it's quite saddening when you think 24+ minutes is awesome. The Vita will be alive, no doubt. By 3rd party's life support, at this rate. Ironically the thing with life attach to its name is always on the border of life and death.

Back on the topic, I'm surprised that the Vita is still getting firmware update. I was so sure that Sony won't bother with it anymore. Do you guys think there is still a chance for multiple account to happen? If they want to take my money, they need to make me feel convenient giving them the money first.

Sony even went out of their way to make account switching on the Vita more complicated, so I highly doubt it.

I just bought a second PS4 controller. What are some good local multiplayer games besides Diablo 3?

Besides Towerfall, Resogun (it got an offline coop on the last patch, iirc).
Maybe Trine 2 too, but it bores me to death.
Octodad.

Small Vita list, but lovely. I want all of them.
(except for Minecraft, please don't kill me, VitaGAF)

No worries... I've never really been interested in Minecraft. I'm only planning on buying it if that physical release on amazon actually has a game card in it, and isn't just a download voucher code in a box.

I'm getting behind on Vita purchases. Had to postpone Neptunia Rebirth, to this month, which means I have to postpone something from this month to another month. I hope Shinovi Vs does indeed fall into Oct.

I want:
Velocity 2x
Don't Starve
Murasaki Baby

Danganronpa 2
Arcana Heart 3
Natural Doctrine
Joe Danger

Can't get hardcore this month. Not for awhile.

My guesses on what could stealthrelease this month:

Hotline Miami 2
Jet Car Stunts (was due out in May, then July, then whothefuckknows)
Futuridium EP Deluxe (was due out in July)
Duke Nukem 3D (lol)
Oddworld Munch's Oddysee (extralol)

edit: Futuridium and Switch Galaxy just got rated by PEGI so I guess they're behind the corner.

This has been rated too and.. was this even announced? Looks good
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsskpClZ-lw

re-edit: PEGI listed Race the Sun and 1001 Spikes(still missing in Europe) back in July so I guess it's not that reliable about release dates.

I think that it's also possible that we'll see Frozen synapse:prime :)

Neat, number 19.

With Dangan Ronpa 2 coming out tomorrow, the Vita release schedule is finally going to slow down a bit. Then Shinovi Versus, Freedom Wars, and Tales of Hearts R will all hit within a few weeks of each other towards the end of October. Yay more backlog.

I can, and have for 13 MONTHS D:

I remember talking to my brother when the 360 Edition first came out. "Wouldn't it be awesome to have something like this on the 3DS or Vita? Not like the dumb mobile port, but like... the fullish thing like this." Didn't even have a Vita at that point, but said that if they ever released the console port onto it that I'd buy it.

Good thing I didn't buy the Vita for it's first supposed launch.

Well, Sony never gave the Vita lots of limelight even when they did try to support it (2012). At this point, all I can say to Sony is f**k them. If they don't want to support the Vita with there own original software and just make quick ports and bring Vita excluvises to there more successful consoles, fine. We have Atlus, Faclom, Bamco and many, many other third party JP developers that want to support the Vita with great original software, and that is damn fine with me :D.

That plus all the indie love we get every week on Vita makes it alive to me :'). The best part is that none of it is Sony's own doing, but everyone else's. They see the platform as something worth working with and developing on, and there games landing on it prove that.

Don't underestimate sardine power, it can restore hope energy ;)

Actually I didn't know how to do it with the desktop version until a hour ago, I just used to change the thread number in the link

EDIT: Oh, were you just asking what's the wall of shame? In case, it's just the list of those who posted the most in the older thread

I'll be honest, there are many indie games that I can't get into even after I tried. I just played them like how I played Puzzle & Dragon, a quick shot here and there and then go back to doing what I was doing. I'm just glad that the Japanese 3rd party still support the Vita frequently.

The biggest surprised for me in the conference would be Luminous Arc. Didn't even think it would jump platform like that, and I love that series. Gotta wait and see if it will ever come out in English, or it's time to import.

Last I heard was Dekamori on Winter and SV on Fall. Nothing more specific than that.
And winter ends on this month, so...

I always thought the end of winter would be at least Jannuary 2015 or something?

New thread. All aboard the the hype train of TGS.

The game play of dangonronpa 3,is it similar in the first one? I know nothing about it and I'd like to know at least what kind of game it is before committing since funds are tight.

Dekamori - Winter (as in December...)
SV - September 30th for NA, October for EU

Winter hasn't even started.....in US.

(...)

Of course. Well damn. I blame the Earth being round.
Somehow I was sure Dekamori would launch before SV, but everything is clear now. At least your fall is still from late this month onwards.

Cmon, it wasn't that cold
jk, I guess you're from the Southern Emisphere

Indeed I am, and am sweating on the coldest capital city in Brazil during winter. Not very nice.

To the OP: Murasaki Baby is a Vita game, not a PS4 (at least that's how things were last time I checked).

Wall of Shame

I'm well behind this time :/

BTW we basically don't know shit about what's getting released past tomorrow except for minecraft, ND and Murasaki Baby which is releasing on the 17th here in europe.

Less than 100 posts this month D:

Summer has hit really hard. This month should be better, since classes start again (lol) and I'd have Don't Starve and other new Vita games that have me a little bit hyped.

I've given up on SCEJ already. As long as third parties continue supporting the Vita, I'm fine with whatever happens. The conference exceeded my expectations, especially after Sony's disastrous E3 and Gamescom showings.

The conference was pretty much like I expected if you leave aside that PS4 third party games actually existed.

And SCEJ continues being SCEJ. Until they prove otherwise they're nothing more than XDEV, an studio that stays alive in order to help third party devs to bring their games to the platform.

I need some advice. I was going to get a 3DS this month but after the n3DS announcement it just doesn't seem like such a smart move anymore. So I'll be getting some Vita games instead!

I'm really tempted by Akiba's Trip and Hyperdimension Neptunia but I'm sort of still on the fence on both. If I had to pick one, which of the two is the superior game? From what I understand, the story of Hyperdimension Neptunia isn't very serious. If I enjoy Disgaea's type of humor, am I likely to also enjoy HN?

Also, I'm tempted to get Shinovi Versus while the physical edition is still available but I'm completely unfamiliar with the series. Would I be missing out on a lot by jumping in with this one?

Oh and has Project Diva F ever been discounted? I liked the demo but 30 bucks seems a bit pricey considering I'm not crazy about the music. With the sequel right around the corner, I'm wondering if I should hold off in case it goes on sale soon.

Holy mother of monkuma. I think I want that box.

I second this. Get together with 3 friends with at least one of them having a DS4 him/herself and have a good time.

You can use the Vita as another controller through remoteplay, I believe.

It's some kind of third person shooter, I think? Also it's not Danganronpa 3, since the story isn't directly taking after the 2nd game.

Did everyone just missed this?

Should've bundled it with a PS4 controller, not a PS3 one. Didn't they say that it would change after the PS4 launched? Or it was just marketing talk?

Akiba's Trip and Neptunia are pretty different in term of gameplay, so I can't really say which one is superior.

You can do a little read on Senran Kagura wikia about the character and their backgrounds/school. You won't miss much without playing the previous games. It's basically just the battle between ninja school with different ideology.

I bought a Vita back in December, I'd be lying if I said 60% of the purchase motivation wasn't the announcement of Minecraft :p Very impatient as you can guess

Regarding indie games, have you ever played one called Gucamelee? That game felt the most 'game-like' out of all the indie games I own (next to Fez, Hotline Miami and Steamworld Dig), so maybe you might like that :D. It is more or less a Metroidvanna mixed with a really fun combat system to boot. I think you might really like the game if you enjoyed the Metroid or Castlevanna games; it is a blast (it was my very first platinum on my Vita :D).

Looking forward to trying Velocity 2X thanks to PS+.

I bought Danganronpa 1 thanks to the sale and I plan on playing it after I finish my P4G playthrough (close to beating it on the true end path) -- so I might get Danganronpa 2 this month as well, depending on how much I enjoy the first / how long it takes to beat it.

How does that game actually plays? I've read a bit about it but nothing conclusive. And I've heard that it is coming to the Vita later on, do you know if that's true?

Off topic: This month I'm going with a 75 card tomorrow, should probably be enough for DR2 and maybe Minecraft or a good promotion.

What are you going to pick up? I know tomorrow I'm getting Vocity X2, Joe Danger, TxK, and Don't Starve thanks to PS+ and Cross-Buy :D. If I had left over PSN Credit, I would have gotten Mega Man X4 (dat D-Pad + dat OLED = ....Amazing XD!), so if you never played that before, really check it out :D.

It has a killer soundtrack, fun level designs and Zero is a blast to play as (and his gameplay is completely different then X's gameplay).

Not too sure on gameplay, actually. Mostly getting it because it's a Sci-Fi JRPG. As for a Vita version, I don't know if it's confirmed, but it's highly likely that one will be released eventually. Gust and Kemco Toei have been very adamant about re-releasing their games for Vita (i.e. the Atelier games).

Edit: I'm guessing the gameplay would be somewhat similar to the Ar Tonelico games, so you could look up footage of that. I'm sure someone more familiar with Gust's work could offer a better description.

I was really tempted on getting MMX4, But I quickly realized that all that credit was going to be used :p . Perhaps on the next PSN card (still haven't gotten to my 100 Classics milestone yet! :D)
