I would have bought this on Wii U if it had launched at the same time as it did for other consoles. At this point though it is coming out around the same time as a ton of other games. I'll pick it up once it hits $10-15.

So how many copies do they even expect to sell?

Somewhere below 100K LTD.

Mr. Guillemot publicly stated that title is the end of their mature Wii U support, so it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't really have any expectations at all (e.g. Nintendo helped finance it).

Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.
literally the only way they could get me to buy this is to for sell it @ $29.99 Canadian at launch, have the gamepad features be as good as Deus Ex: HR (wii u version) and have it run better than the ps3/360 version and have a new/better ending.

I have still NOT forgiven them for what they did with Rayman Legends (holding back the completed Wii U version to port it to other systems, then launching it during a busy release schedule so they pretty much sent it off to die)

Ill pick it up when it hit the bargain bin for $20. Even if i was having a ps3 or ps4, i wouldnt have bought it full price.

Wii U owners, take my advice: avoid.

Ubisoft games eventually get so cheap that there's no point in not taking the risk on it. I think I own every Ubisoft game worth owning on the system and haven't paid more than 30 bucks total.

There's always a point man. Your self-respect! Your pride!

But seriously I mean i guess if the game was $10 there's worse ways to spend your time than on a generic grindwheel of the worst qualities of open world gaming, but there is a foundation here. I'm hoping the sequel turns into something good.

Bless Ubisoft. I'm shocked they're actually keeping their word and still releasing this damn thing. I certainly wouldn't have blamed them had they cancelled it.

yeaaah...no.

Im still heart broken that Rogue is not coming to Wii U. I would prefer that rather than this.

I got AC III new for 3 bucks. I dislike AC but I found 3 bucks of entertainment out of that.

Ubi is also not the only one. I hate Mass Effect 3 but got the Wii U version new at target for...1.98! New! Why the hell not at that price?

For the people that are waiting for $15 bomba...I just don't see it happening. This is going to get such a limited release that it will be super rare in the future to find.

Eshop will probably have it at 59.99 and maybe down to 29.99 in like 6 months and it'll stay there for the rest of it's life.

Hey, haters gonna hate, but for some real honest talk... those Gang Hideout missions were more fun to play than what I was doing in any Assassin's Creed (but I have not played 4 yet^^). This is waaaay to late and inexcusable, but if it is a competent port and fairly priced I could see some Wii U only folks still having fun with this.

I laughed at the two bolded sentences following one another.

AC 3 was on a weird Toys R US 75% off sticker sale and went off of an already reduced price.

Target is just because the Target near me has the best shit on clearance and is generally a good spot for harder to find things. They had BL2 Vitas for months after everyone else had sold out and I've gotten most of my recent physical 3DS games there on clearance. Mercs 3D was 4.98, Nintendogs 3DS (no idea which one it was) was 2.98, Resident Evil Revelations and Style Savvy for 6.98. Pilotwings for 7.98 when it was still 30+ everywhere else.

Target clearance is very YMMV though.

They're probably waiting to find out the release date for Smash Brothers so they can get it out the exact same day.

Was pretty nice of them to delay it though so all the Wii U owners now know it was just average and not to bother. Initial release hype counts for sooo much.

My biggest gripe with the game is the poor UI, inventory management and constant notifications and popups coming on the screen. If Ubisoft was smart they'd put all that on the gamepad and leave the TV with a minimal HUD. But I highly doubt they'd do that. This will most likely be a vanilla port with no DLC.

A few Wii U games, chiefly the Arkham City and Deus Ex ports, have convinced me that the Wii U is the definitive place to play sandbox-type games with inventory management and a heavy reliance on map use. With some love and care, and maybe some DLC tossed in and a fair price, this could be the definitive version of the game.

With that said Ubisoft's track record in the abstract and on the platform in general leads me to believe they will shit this port out as cheaply as possible, save a couple bucks at the expense of educated sales and blame me, the consumer, every step of the way. But I'd love to be wrong.

I fully expect this to be the definitive version of Watch Dogs. Why else would they have delayed the game?

If they were worried about it not selling on the Wii U they would have just cancelled the thing. Delaying a multiplatform title because you are worried about it not selling well would be quite idiotic.

Ubisoft is a billion dollar company and I am sure they know how to manage their products better than me, a random internet fuck.

I just finished Deus Ex on Wii U and I loved the Gamepad once I got used to it. Plus, off TV was great as well.

The gang hideout sub-missions were just middling instead of awful so there's that

Hopefully it will have all DLC and fixes available, and they should add some sort of subtitle like "Director's Cut" or "Special Edition" to let people know it's not the same exact game as the one in the other consoles.

Thankfully Wii u owners can look at this game outside the launch hype bubble and go on actual impressions from people who played it.

As a result to me it's not something I'd buy even for $5. Sounds completely boring and focus tested into the ground with a bland generic protagonist and a dumbfuck story.

Pointless game.

I'd get it if it didn't cost $60, not because I can't afford it, but because I won't support Ubi's delay practices.

Going price for every version on amazon RIGHT NOW is $40. Surely to keep it fair and competitive, they'll price it accordingly for Wii U, which will be 6 months late. Right? RIGHT??? lol.

But it will have Off-TV Play. Not the same game, not the same content.

Advice taken.

They already said they dropped support. So no reason to support this. Beside the management of this stealth release is a total clusterfuck.
There are other games around that deserve my money more than this one.

That and the convoys were really the only fun parts, tbh. Plus the soundtrack is fucking horrible. Jesus. I just skip to the Vampire Weekend song and call it a fucking day. I'm sure the sequel will be better, but this game definitely isn't worth $60.

When are they're going to announce exclusive Nintendo costumes for the Wii U version? I want to hack stuff as Waluigi.

Yeah the convoys were okay too I suppose. The problem I have with them is that if I find a "break" in a game it's in my own nature to exploit it. If you use the 3-shot grenade launcher correctly, no convoy mission is really that hard on any difficulty setting. Just focus, 2 grenades to the undercarriage of the target vehicle

I suppose there's the convoy missions where you have to subdue not kill your victim but it's much of the same. Take out target vehicle with your car, pop out with same grenade launcher take out guard cars, subdue target etc.

And yeah the soundtrack is rather poor :\

Game is good. Online is addictive as fuck and quite innovative. Core gameplay is fun. Fuck the haters, the game gets waaaaaay too much crap, the way some people act you would think it has no redeeming qualities at all instead of the truth, it just lacks polish compared to GTAV. Wii U only owners should take a look.

Not really sure why they are wasting their time. This is going to be the lowest selling Ubisoft game to date. Honestly, they might be able to sell it for $30, but I sincerely doubt they will sell even 200k at full retail.
