Final Fantasy Type-0 HD coming on March 17 2015. Download code for FFXV demo included

I'm a lil salty tho that Type-0 HD releases only 3 months after KH 2.5 and yet the latter has no current gen version announced yet. Makes you think Type-0 was really aimed at the western audience or something.

It doesn't have to be then exactly, but basing off of what that Twitter lady said I think it's a fair assumption.

The twitter lady also said something about the trailer shown being in english, right? I know the one in TGS will definetely be in japanese but I wonder if Square will release this english version of the trailer, hope it's english dubbed too.

well it is aimed at us since we never got the game to begin with. In order to boost sells i guess SE thought process was " Hey lets include a FFXV demo!, it should further entice those folks who imported or played the sky translation"

There's no if about it. It's clearly aimed at us, since we never got a localization. I'm sure JPN will buy it, but there's a great market to tap in all the Western world that hasn't even played it once.

you know I'm still in disbelief. I think when square announce it at TGS, my reaction is going to be as if i've never even seen this thread. I should take advantage of this and tell my neighbor to be prepared to call the amber lamps for when i get a heart attack.

I certainly am interested to see how this does in the west. Not having a PS3 version will prolly cut a decent slice from Japanese sales.

Another thing of interest will be the review scores. After reading some of the GAF impressions the game certainly is deep rooted on PSP wih some of the more clunky stuff and I'm not too convinced they will fix much beside the controls. I can totally see this one being ripped apart.

Can't wait for the oddly priced Steam release 3 years after it's relevant.

Really though, I look forward to a Steam release, and I'm glad Squenix is going PC now.

To those of you who are wondering, when I saw the game in action a few weeks ago, I thought it looked pretty damn good, though it's clear from close-ups of faces and textures that this was originally a PSP game. I also thought it looked Fun As Heck and don't really care about the graphics, given that Square's quest to max out production values led to a direction-less FFXIII and the development hell of Versus XIII. Type-0 feels like a good stopgap while we wait for FFXV.

Well yeah, Japan played the game, we didn't, PS4/X1 game, it's very much testing the western waters

My first reaction to reading the thread title was "Holy shit! MEGATON!!".

Now after reading 20 pages worth of negativity and doubts, I'm down to "This is exciting, hope Square actually delivers".

Did it look like that teaser image they released at E3?

Edit: To clarify, this one: http://gematsu.com/gallery/albums/f...Final-Fantasy-Type-0-HD_2014_06-10-14_003.jpg

I wouldn't call FFXIII directionless. At least not the first game.

The first game had a pretty stubborn direction and it followed through to the end.Which led to it being divisive.

But yes Type-0 will look good enough anyway.

I really want to know about the camera. It was the worst thing I encountered when I played the PSP game. It actually made me pretty dizzy playing it, and I don't generally have motion sickness. Are the signs of it being improved substantially? It shouldn't be hard since they have much more resolution and larger screens in general here. Could you tell from watching the demo?

I'm not crazy. This is the truth that must not be contained any longer.

You must click at your peril for once you realize who it is you won't know what to believe anymore or who to trust. I'm a mere tool in his cog.

Behold the true leader of the Versus brotherhood who has been there since day-0. The one who will bring us and promise a road to release from this day forth.

That's good to know, thanks! The idea of a more mature final fantasy is really exciting

It's really weird that Square has been using that as a PR point (and it was so obviously a PR point -- as Tabata kept repeating that, I just knew it'd make for headlines on a lot of sites). FFX was filled with death and despair, FFXII was like Game of Thrones lite, FFVI had a goddamned
suicide
, etc. Even FFXIII dealt with "mature" themes. I think the last Final Fantasy game that wasn't "mature" was maybe FFV?

Subject matter can be mature, but if the story-telling isn't mature then that's a problem. I don't think Type-0's story-telling is mature so I don't understand Tabata's point.

What if FFXV comes out and everyone agrees that it is the greatest FF ever made, blowing away 6-10?

I want this to happen so bad.

So FFXV demo will be almost exclusively digital right ?

None of the disks whatsoever will have the demo or is this simply undecided as of yet ? Voucher set in stone ?

Probably yes, they're not even sure about releasing the demo the same day Type-0 comes out.

What if Jesus came down and destroyed all the terrorists in the world, absolved everyone of their sins, and humanity entered into a new golden age?

Hmm. I think that's a bullshot. In action, I don't think the floor textures had that kind of detail. I could be wrong, though.

Hoping you're wrong then, hehe.

But I guess we'll see for ourselves in the coming hours.

What if Jesus came down and destroyed all the terrorists in the world, absolved everyone of their sins, and humanity entered into a new golden age?

I want this to happen so bad.

Gonna start a petition.

I guess they say that based maybe in gore or something like that. While I agree the other FFs have mature stories, they lack the blood, violence and etc. that others mature games got. I saw a chocobo covered in blood for example in the opening of type-0, maybe that's the "mature content" they're talking about.

We'd ask him if he could release FFXV and The Last Guardian. He'd say "No son, I do not have that power"
