We can still believe. I mean when there's despair there's always hope.

God dammit we need a great mecha anime considering the recent ones have been average.

Shounen Hollywood - 12

Forgot to review this yesterday.

It really does seem like the group is going to split soon, despite Makki's efforts. Some characters try to professional, but only come off as condescending. Others try to be positive, but come off as childish. And one doesn't seem to know what he's doing anymore. You know it is bad when the president seems the most sensible.

Oh well, here's to a successful concert. I must say I really enjoy this cast of characters.

Sailor Moon Uncut 37

Man coming from Crystal this version of Usagi with no development at all just drives me up the wall. Venus also has like no defining characteristics, she's just like the boring girl who's there.

Best show of the year so far etc. etc. You almost start to feel bad for Chiyo at this point.

So in Chiyo's first meeting with Nozaki she had Mamiko's hairstyle? What a coincidence!

I loved the hell out of this series. I had zero expectations going in, but damn if it wasnt the most consistent show this season. I hope we get a season 2.

Guess its time to jump into the manga. I need more Chiyo~

What the? Tentacles monster with white, sticky substance when defeated? Slice of life indeed.

Survival Game Club!: 12 (END)

A silly end to a silly show. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I'd call it the surprise hit of the season, but honestly, it felt like it was expected to be good. At least it matched/surpassed expectations!

Sword Art Online II: 12

Silly Kirito, telling someone you'll never see them again always means that you'll see them later down the line in a plot relevant moment. *Sigh* This show. Seriously.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun 1 - 12

Definitely the best show this season, I never had so much laugh and fun since Nichijou.

I should probably watch some shows today.

lol that would be nice...

:[ I'll keep hoping.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun 12

That's quite a cliffhanger to end things on. One of my pet peeves with the show was the lack of progress on Nozaki-Sakura front so this hurts even more. Hope we will get more of it, it was a very enjoyable ride especially once they finished introducing all the characters.

Plus, they get hyped like crazy and just don't match up, which adds to the disappointment.

The upshot of FMP is that I already know how it ends so unless they derail it and make Nami the canon love interest a hypothetical animation of the end of the series would prove very satisfying.

From what I hear here, there isn't much development on the relationships in the manga.

Sailor Moon Uncut 38

At least they addressed the whole "Rei was dating Mamoru" and finally closed that knot. Man if only Kunzite and Endyimion could work together they could probably both get what they want.

If you were watching Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun for the potential of romance then you were watching for the wrong reasons.

Space Dandy S2 Episode 12

One of the couple weak episodes this season. Can't believe it's going to end next week -__-

Probably will vote this aoty unless something next season blows me away.

naw won't happen. once you
cut a man's hair you're the canon love interest

GTO is fantastic but I'd advise you skip the last couple of episodes and pick up the manga for a conclusion. The anime ending is a horrible thing.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun Episode 12:

This episode is actually helping take a bit of the edge off of receiving some horrifying news.

Akame ga Kill! 12

I remember nothing at this part.
Did
Syura
really get introduced this early in the manga?

Sabagebu! 12 END

Anime Scarface

This show's beginning and ending episodes were way stronger then the middle ones, but a pretty good show all around. It was kind of overshadowed by Barakamon and Nozaki though

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun 12 END

...Well at least it wasn't an "EH NANDATTE"

Great series and the best new show this season, will begin reading manga immediately. S2 by next year, hopefully.

DRAMAtical Murder Episode 12

Could have kissed or something but
hospital bed
was good enough. Noiz looked fantastic in the epilogue too, conflicted on what is his best, regular outfit or that,

Ending was rather weak but expected based on all that happened.

That would be gay though and they can't have that.

Great finale for a great series. This time even Nozaki and Chiyo got some good moments though the side couples are by far the most interesting once more.
Season 2 when.

You just know what's gonna happen next, but that just makes it funnier.

The manga gets a cute new mascot and Aito discovers new pleasures.

Long-haired dere Mihari is a miracle of this world. I really liked that series in general. It was hilarious.

Sabagebu - 12

Liked the action scene and the ending, not much else.

Momoka's mom > all

It's is a shame, I liked the beginning of the show, but it just lost my interest when it became less action oriented.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun: Finale Review:
The series ended with a bang (pun totally intended). Just the best of the cast going to a festival and the respective pairs finding each other and hanging out. Everybody has fantastic chemistry with their respective pair, and even if Mikorin doesn't have a girl of his own he's still best girl. Especially when he was praising Chiyo just so he could get praised back, hahaha what an amazing character definitely the highlight of the show. Even if the relationships never move forward the way these characters just totally work with each other, be it as foils or in how cute they are together (or both) makes the show worth a watch even in the romantic aspect, but largely if you want a solid romantic comedy that is outright funny vs "it's funny for a romantic show I guess". I swear I haven't laughed this much at a romantic comedy since School Rumble. Not to say there haven't been decent shows in the genre, but there are only so many greats. It ended how I expected honestly, with very sweet scenes between Nozaki and Sakura. Ever out of the grasp of a formal relationship, but still we find ourselves cheering for them and the other would-be couples.

Series Thoughts:

If you're thinking about watching Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun I feel the need to warn you about something key that unfortunately made some people stop watching it: the show while classified as a romantic comedy, has little to no progress in the relationships of the characters. Any of them. Whatsoever. So if you're going to watch it to watch a romantic anime, look elsewhere.

If on the other hand you're looking for a comedy that is based around romantic subjects, then please enter the room, I'll serve some hot tea and let's get cozy as we watch. Because you're definitely in the right place and you'll be watching what is easily one of the most solid comedies in anime, and one of arguably the top romantic comedies ever made.

The show revolves around Nozaki, a serious-face deadpan character who everybody thinks is super serious at school because they don't know him, but he's actually an extremely silly manga author for a shojo romantic manga. Ironically he has never experienced love himself which is why he gets his inspiration from his surroundings and his acquaintances. Sakura is the other main character, a girl who fell in love with Nozaki and only has eyes for him, who does everything in her power to stay near him and one day confess.

The characters: There are only three characters I can think of that when the episodes were focused on them the shoe was at its weakest. When the "worst" episodes of the show revolve around the same characters, you can connect the dots to realize they actively weren't used with the right people or are outright uninteresting characters. But funny enough they'd be characters that when compared to other shows, might be the highlight of said show. The issue here is that they are in the same show as the high school students of Nozaki-kun and to be honest that simply wasn't fair for them. The high school students are hilarious and incredibly varied in their personalities. No two of them feel like the same character, and they all stand out enough from other shows as well. You're in for a ride if you want a character driven comedy because this is one fucking solid cast of amazing people and it's where the manga author definitely kicked ass in. I said it in the finale review and I'll say it again, every pair has amazing chemistry together. Largely it's for comedy's sake, but when they do get serious it's damn great. Nozaki and Sakura aren't even the most popular ranking couple on the show, and if you watch it you'll be introduced to Mikorin, who is one of the best damn characters I have ever watched in an anime romantic comedy. Waka is amazing too though. Fuck, they all are.

The comedy: It largely revolves around Nozaki and the group writing the manga, but the author does something really amazing in that it not only revolves the whole comedy on that. It may also show us a day in the life of the side characters, such as two who are in the drama club, or Lorelei and Waka. Point is it's not a one trick pony. Surprisingly it's also a bit informative about tropes and certain things authors do when drawing shojo or manga in general. There's a gag in on of the episodes of perspectives when drawing that involves boxes, and I don't want to give too much away but it's non-stop laughs. What I'm trying to say is that it's one of the most solid comedies in anime out there, the writing is and comedic timing is just amazing. Definitely watch it for the comedy.

The Animation: I don't have much to say here besides that the show never stops looking good. While there's no Sakuga besides one scene where a character is riding a mechanical bull (lol), the show has extremely diverse bright colors, the drawings are sharp and crisp, and they're always a pleasure to the eyes. Like I could not keep my eyes away from anything. It was a very well drawn anime, the designs were amazing.

The Music
: If you're a fan of music then good news, the music in the show is pretty damn great as well. Particularly the opening. I mean has there ever been a show with a Jazzy opening that wasn't amazing? Cowboy Bebop did it, Baccano did it, and now Nozaki-kun did it.

Final thoughts: I'm going to go ahead and say it. This is the third best show this season. It's unfortunate it ran on at the same time as Barakamon and the second season of Space Dandy, because if not it wouldn't even be a contest compared to the other crap-tastic shows that aired alongside it. I am going to probably catch up on the manga as I doubt this will get a second season anytime soon. Should you watch it? Yes. A million times yes. The characters and the comedy sky-rocketed this show to amazing heights. And it deserves to be watched by just about everybody who enjoys comedies and/or slice of life.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun gets a 9.0/10. Woofdawg Seal of Approval

Must say I'm curious about the FMP rpg. Is it a japanese one or a western made one. Dont think I've ever seen/played a japan made rpg.

Hayate (2014) OVA
The way these OVAs are make me feel nostalgic a bit. They're more easygoing but random, a bit more like the first seasons. I loved how they took the second season's ending song (probably my favorite part of the second season) and gave it a full animated sequence.

I'm watching The Matrix for my English class and for some reason its making me want to go back and watch the Animatrix. I don't know why because I remember seeing like one or two of them and not liking them. I dunno, maybe my hatred for the sequels is clouding my judgement and it's actually good. Guess I'll find out.

Damn, they left out one of the most crucial parts of the flashback.

They did leave in a vital clue with the way sakura tied up her hair.

Overall a pretty good adaptation, even though I didn't agree with some decisions, but it was fun watching favourite scenes being animated.

There's a heck of a lot more to cover if they want a season 2 though.

Hey Barakamon aired yesterday and it made that day splendid. While the other shows left a bad taste in my mouth it immediately vanished when I watched Barakamon.

I had tons of fun yesterday. SAO, Mahouka, Baby Steps, Barakamon. Best anime day of the week this season for me. Today its just Akame ga kill and Nozaki-kun. And tomorrow just Ao Haru Ride.
