FAST Racing Neo (Wii U) : first screenshot

OK come on:

  • Fast Racing Neo
  • Fast R Neo
  • (rotate the N - the console in question can now stand on its side)
  • Fast R Zeo
  • (Jump the R three spaces forward as we know the game was on 3 console generations previously)
  • Fast Zero
  • F Zero

FAST Racing Neo GAF

Probably the most obvious. Wish Nintendo would collaborate with them. Nintendo can tweak the controls and gameplay, Shinen does graphics. Maybe outsource some work to them?

I don't know what some of you people are seeing(or NOT seeing), but that's a heck of a lot of environmental detail for a game that's going to be zipping by at extreme speeds AND 60fps! How often does that happen?!

So, now I'm even more anxious to see the portion of the game where most of the effects and graphical details are always allocated, as far as racing games go - the various vehicles and the actual race tracks!

Well, FAST on Wii wasn't really "extreme speed" - so most of the environmental parts will be seen during gameplay:

But there are still a lot of details that probably won't be visible from a player's perspective (ground textures outside of the track).

OMFG HOLY MOTHER OF MARY IN HEAVEN I CANT BELIEVE IT WTF WHERE ARE MY SEDATIVES AAAAHHH
is this the game coming out that has Oculus Rift support?

By the way, F-ZeroGX fully supports the Rift now. Also someone mentioned that one of the guys is seeing what he can do about hacking it for online multiplayer!

Ok, I gotta be real for a minute here. What is this kind of piecemeal shit reveal?

I know and respect Shin'en and look forward to their next game, but I wager most people don't. This isn't some super-highly anticipated blockbuster with a known brand and a triple-AAA marketing machine attached that would require this sort of incremental teasing building up to a huge reveal. We're on the brink of another busy autumn season and if they don't release something worthwhile soon, they're just going to get swallowed up entirely.

Just post a proper fucking trailer and show a couple races played ffs.

I don't think they can reach 1080p at 60fps. let's see...If I remember correctly, Nano Assault Neo on Wii U (launch title, must be said) was 720p and 60fps (while they were ble to uprez it to 1080p for PS4 port)

Nano Assault was running 1080p 60 FPS initially in early trailers and interviews. They intentionally lowered it because it had no noticeable impact on graphics as much as adding more postfx. They considered 1080p 60 FPS a waste of resources.

Fast Racing Neo isn't releasing this year and possibly not for the first half of 2015, so what's the point in being impatient about it.

He still makes a decent point. Teasers get to tease when they are in a position to tease. A small indie developer with a small active following doesnt have teasing power.

Yes, we will obviously see a lot more soon, but these guys have talked a big deal about this game aand now need to walk the walk.

Why is no one discussing this picture? The vegetation and shading look delicious. You can see the moss on the trees in the distance.

Why all the focus on just that one segment of the other pictures?

They really haven't said too much about the game since it was announced.

Umm, I don't think that actually happened at all. It's the fans of Shin'en who have been hyping up the game as the second coming of F-Zero.

You mean where they exceeded what the majority of other racing game creators have done for years by putting at least some effort into it and using high quality textures for things that aren't cars?

This is a racing game in case you forgot.

"Shinen pls" should have tipped you off about the tone of my post. Guess not. Flame on.

Looks like boost orbs are back (From what I see on the track in the distance), and the track seems to split?

Hnnnnnngg at that dense vegetation, looks so good.

Oh, that makes more sense then. For some reason, I was thinking this is a 2014 release coming out fairly soon. When the game isn't close to being done and there's time to capture and release proper footage early next year, it's much more acceptable to have this kind of slow reveal now.

Seems to work for you... :p
That's because I support local devs and have huge respect for the demoscene origins of the guys at Shin'en. :D

The first tweet about when we would see screens, said in 18 days. I think it added up to the 30 of this month, maybe it will be a trailer instead of just a single screen or screens. These are actually early, AOB release is around the corner, they're more than likely afraid of the game being ignored.
