My bro Sawyer_DAA over at Twitter noticed this so I decided to make a "small" GIF for it.

RE4-style reload animation?

Nah that really is a spoiler... we were supposed to keep guessing as we played through. In the old days, he wouldn't need to even address such an annoying statement, and should just let the player's think for themselves. Imagine if the core mysteries behind the early Silent Hill's were just flat-out told in an interview like that.

I personally think it explains why certain characters or certain events happen. Now a days characters who appear from the shadows need to be defined or we need to be given a reason to their existence. In Silent Hill you knew you were at a specific location. It set up the premise way ahead of the player. You just figured out more about the town. I think they are giving you the reason to what you are seeing. Otherwise it would need to go in a different direction. It would of been on the same calibur as The Cabin in the Woods. This isn't like that.

RE had a great way of showing progression. Without having to branch off into multiple games, he's simply making the game the way he wants to.

There's a leak that's been basically proven true at this point, I won't recite it here, but I'll just say they've done a very good job at not talking about a few elements of the story, and I don't think the game's central mystery is about whether this takes place in a killer's mind or not.

Exactly. To me it seems like trying to pretend that Silent Hill doesn't take place partially in a decrepit, nightmarish version of the town for fear of "spoilers".

The game is figuring out the mystery. Knowing the setting or premise isn't in itself a spoiler. But some people truly like to know as little as possible. That's respectable, but they usually only have themselves to blame for watching stuff like this.

This game looks both nostalgic and fresh, if that makes sense. Nostalgic because of the old school survival horror vibe, but fresh because there are just not many quality games like this anymore within the genre. It's really exciting.

I see no reason the millions of folks that made RE4 a success, won't see this game, see the inevitable reviews, and buy the damn thing. At this point, with all the new stuff they have been showing. I have absolutely 100%, zero doubts that this game will be fantastic. I've said it before and I'll say it again... I've got this bad boy waiting for the official OT:

Yeah, people loved RE4 (and still do) for a reason. To see the creator coming back to make something that looks like the next natural step up from that game with even more flavors of horror has to count for something. So, I agree.

Totally pre ordering this tonight digitally on PS4.

RE4 is my favorite game of all time and this looks like its spiritual successor to me. Can't freaking wait.

The only thing, ONLY thing that could ruin it is if its a buggy game. BETHESDA!!!!!

Wasn't there word, if this game succeeds that this will be a franchise or trilogy of some sorts? And that Mikami would flesh this out?

I think I read somewhere on the other topic (about Dusk impressions of the game) that it could become a series if it sells well

From Game Informer - "An exceptionally polished and well thought-out horror experience."

This again.
You're mistaking Bethesda Softworks (the publisher) for Bethesda Game Studios (the developers who make the buggy games).
The game is Tango Gamework's product. And we currently don't know how good they polish their games in terms of bug freeness.

Bethasda published Wolfenstein TNO and that game was practically bug free judging by my playthorugh.

Hmm, I don't know if I should wait for review or pre-order the game now. I could save 10% and getting exclusive stuff if I pre-order...

I have trust issues anytime I see the name okay. I'm fully aware it isn't the same team haha. Also it was meant to be a joke.

If you look at RE 0-4, and all the other games Mikami produced, I'm pretty sure these games have only little to almost no bugs or any game breaking ones.
Mikami's games were pretty polished all around.

This looks and sound amazing, and I'm extremely eager to play this (after Smash Bros. and Bayonetta 1+2). That being said...

I'm not sure how I feel about it all taking place inside someone's head (which isn't a spoiler since they're openly talking about this). I mean, "it's all a dream" has robbed numerous works of their tension. The silly snowmobile scene in Inception comes to mind. The idea of fighting figments of the imagination kind of falls flat.

Hopefully it works well in-game. Maybe this is more a scenario where Ruvik (or whoever's mind this is) has taken on a tangible existence in a separate plane of reality, and Sebastian is trapped there.

True but perhaps its manifestations of said mind. We don't know at this point really.

Okay, sorry that I brought it up - next time I will check with Gordon if posting a TEW gif is okay and if they correspond the parameters for good gifs that are written in the book of internet. I am ashamed of myself and hope that the game design experts will forgive me for pointing out a visual detail that can be found in Pong, sorry

Sorry for your persecution but I don't see how you can argue with the fact that bullets hitting the wall is completely standard video game stuff and it's weird that you praised it as amazing attention to detail.

Still looks like a decent, if not underwhelming survival action title. Envrionment direction still looks bland.

Cool to hear from Sessler. Hadn't actually seen much from him since TechTV.

I'm looking forward to this game quite a lot, but I'm admittedly confused what the deal is with all these people defending the game so rabidly at the slightest criticism. And why is the game title in all of your avatars? Haha.

I think that "amazing" GIF is getting way too much attention - so much so that it seems quite artificial. The shotgun spread hitting the wall in the background is nothing new.

Something something Mikami worshippers something something Oprah gif something something return of survival horror

Plus the game initially had a very mixed to negative reaction, so now there's about a dozen of so people overcompensating with Ganado like dedication
