guys tell me if you think this would make a good thread on neogaf:

think of two games you like
swap the developers
post your results
don't read anyone's post
don't discuss anything

The 4th and 5th points are things I like because most of those types of threads devolve into a bunch of people quoting 1 idea and saying "this".

Not discussing anything probably wouldn't fly well with the mods. Lists threads are heavily looked down upon.

Maybe have a minimum word count? And a one post per poster limit?

a minimum word count is a good idea because I would want to discourage posts that are so short another user might read them by accident. I should probably put that requirement in the thread title in case someone doesn't read the OP.

As a mod on Smashboards, I do dislike list threads. It's really bad when people post a list without going into any detail as well.

Any thread where people post their one thought and leave is nothing more than a +1 post count thread, and those bother me greatly.

Edit: Sometimes the first post clarifies how the thread works and that you should go into detail. But so many people fail to read the first post :/

Your first mistake Oneida was reading general threads on gaming side

Why read the first post when you can read the thread title! No but seriously I wouldn't count on it, it's the same group of people that can't be assed to read a review and only care about the number the game gets. Sadly it's fairly common.

I slept in yesterday when I got home. Today I'm moving from old office to new office.

What'd I miss? Again thank you all for viewing TGS. It was a successful event for us (especially since we worked with almost all the fighting game devs/publishers). You can expect to see MORE from us in that capacity in the near future.

<3

I know a lot of people think I'm being CorporateMan at times, but I very rarely think that way. We don't even have any stock of new sticks to sell (the Ultra/Persona stuff was already sold out in Japan during TGS)... we are just doing this for the love of the games and to keep an interest in the genre we love and care for.

I wish more companies would do the same.

Also, in regards to Zhi's commentary. As I mentioned, I have his back. I believe in him. You have to believe in your team. Of course if anyone was offended, I know for a fact it was not his (nor our) intention. So I will apologize if anyone wants to take it up with us directly.

Take care guys and have a good week.

Kadey, I kept you in my well wishes/prayers. Hope all is well.

Sounds like a certain FGC "news" site.

Apologies for the posts here but I swear this is the last one til the actual event! :p

Figured I'd show off the swag we got from the awesome FGC! Most of these are gonna be prizes for competitors, since we obviously won't have cash pots for this event. Some stuff will be raffled off, like the arcade stick and GBC.

Atlus hooked it up with games, posters, and CDs!

Namco with a ton of games, posters, and an awesome Goku statue!

Capcom with hats, headsets, stick bags, art books, games, a Strider scarf, shirts, and CDs!

Super cool March of Dimes custom stick by Jasen's Customs

TJ Combo concept art banner signed by the Iron Galaxy team, Divekick trading cards, the custom GB Color Light from Rose Colored Gaming, Skullgirls and Nintendo prints by Alex Ahad, George plushies from Autumn Games, and BlazBlue comics, plushies, GGXXAC soundtracks, GGXrd/Arcana Heart 3 Love Max posters.

Plus we got awesome shirts from Broken Tier and Eternal Rival!

Anyway I mainly wanted to post these cause I'm just blown away from the generosity of the FGC and the companies around it. Same as last year, it's just really so cool to see the big hearts and helpfulness of everyone we talked to about help or sponsorship. It's the kind of thing that really makes me glad to be a part of the community and makes me love everyone in it.

No, no Art of Fighting game sadly. We had a vote for the final game and KOF almoooost won but then the Skullgirls community descended upon our poll. :p

We are gonna have Windjammers though :D

My least favourite threads are the ones where the op is like "capcom is going to announce something" and all the posts are like onimusha! powerstone! and so on. Happens all the time. And every company is always going to announce something because they're all working on stuff, and they occasionally say they're working on stuff and then you get these threads.

^^^ I can't make out what the heck that image is. What is it?

10 reasons why Fuerte should be banned

You'll never believe what happened when two Blazblue champions met at EVO

Only KOF players will understand this combo

Is anime a sin? (@SavedYouAClick: No.)

"This character is now considered top tier.

See what this player did to his stick.

You'll never believe how much money was spent on salty bets by this one man in China.

Guess what Capcom just didn't announce.

No, the worst is the inevitable complaining about the actual announcement - which is usually Japanese specific to start with and not even targeted at them.

Them: "Famitsu hyped us up for no reason!!!!"

Me: I WISH I COULD HATE YOU TO DEATH

Anyone else think Namco should have made a Fire Emblem fighting game instead of a pokemon fighting game?

Im serious. Mr "I hate guessing in fighting games but I love grapplers" isn't in charge of FGCNN

oh i know you were serious, my post was referring to another thread that got blown up a couple of days ago. also, that guessing game when you don't know if the person is gonna jump, stay still or dash... gotta love grapplers.

So after getting my stick mailed to me after moving, I decided to buy Ultra sf4 because I thought maybe for once I should play a game someone else plays. I've played all the others, so I know bnbs and what not, so I'm checking them out to see damage changes and stuff. For Chun's back mk, mk into up kick target combo (I don't even know if it is listed as a target combo) into Kikosho, does the Kikosho have a sweet spot? I get all 22 hits every time but I have had do from 260 damage to around 320. Just wondering since I'm just fooling around with things.

Also my middle and ringer finger move together. It's so annoying to mash legs because I get ex legs when trying to get it after cr. HP because I accidently hit MK and HK together. At least it's easy to get HK Lightning legs off cl.MP. It sort of feels to mash with Joe in Kof13 because that was only 2 buttons and you only need 4 inputs to get a tnt punch while trying not to over-mash, though I wasn't godlike enough to link those tnts for the stun combo using barely any resources, even though I could only stun if I had enough meter to extend the loop.

Don't mash. Piano.

Don't mash. Piano.

Well that's a given. I'm not going to get the legs out fast enough if I press on one button. Been trying some stuff to see what I'm comfortable with, like lk~cl.mp, mk, hk,mk,hk. This one is easy since she has forever compared to cr.HP. Been trying some different ways, since I'm bad at the cr.HP into legs and I keep getting the wrong lightning leg out. I'm interested in trying out Desk's mash method, where he uses his left hand to help press a button and have his fingers on his right hand dedicated for leg inputs. He used it recently in that one jab into leg video he put out, he pressed jab with his left hand.
