How the fuck do some of you have so much time in the demo? I just checked and I have 2:29.
It's 5 characters on one stage, and you can't even up the time from 2 minutes or do stock. Aka it's boring as hell once you've had a little play around with each character.

Okay then, my somewhat out-there predictions:

Mine would probably be pretty similar if I were to make a more full list like yours.
I'm guessing Robin is probably high, would probably be top if it weren't for the tome/Levin Sword depleting mechanic, I think people will learn to take advantage of the down time as the metagame develops.
I think Zelda's probably somewhere in the middle and not bottom but again just a prediction.
Multiplayer with my brother/gf/guys at work, mostly. Plus the level 9 CPUs are actually decent.

Basically just getting acquainted with the engine and how each character feels, new ledge mechanics, etc. "comboing" CPUs around. Once the main game comes out I've no doubt I'll pour hundreds of hours into it, especially if the online functions well for me.

Only the latest one, but I can't say I liked how supports were done in Awakening not that it was bad. Then again it's the most minor prob I have with it. Main probs being map/battle diversity like fog of war and the such.

If you haven't spent over 5 hours on Villager alone you're doing something wrong.
I considered putting Robin up there since he looks good, but I didn't want to have too many characters in a single tier (though I do feel there will be fewer tiers and more characters in each tier in this game).
Zelda, I dunno. Hard to guess who will turn out to be the worst.
Update: After yesterday's rounds of people trying to beat 1FOW1 and his Ness, shofu tried his hand. Went 0 - 4 immediately and ragequit.

Honestly, I'm not even bored with the demo at all. The reason I put so much hours in is because I wanted to test out every character to the fullest. I've been practicing with villager against level 9's and real people a shitload so that when the full game comes out I wont get my butt kicked in online

I pretty much play every day for an average of 1-2 hours. Beating up the same 5 characters somehow doesn't get old for me.

Smash has always been a casual series for me where the in depth mechanics are just irrelevant.
Spent 30 hours on mine:
- 24 hours of it was just me in a 1v1 Omega Battlefield either trying stuff out or battling lvl9 or lvl1 CPUs with every character.
- The rest was just 1v1 or FFAs with 3 CPUs with items on. There's such a wide array of items/PokeBalls/Assist Trophies and I wanted to try out as much as I can.
Not near the top 3 of any of the 3 ranking categories lol.

Maybe not, and that's fine. I'm personally more into the in depth stuff so I spent a lot of time in the demo trying to practice meteor smashes on Lv1 CPUs, testing out combos with Lv9s, etc.
It's fun and not that serious. As long as people understand it's not even a ranking at this point, it's just prediction. Won't have actual really really early tier lists until several months later.
You missed that they're just predictions, there hasn't been any good Shulk play yet.
Smash without friends wouldn't really be worth it for me. If I didn't have a solid group of 3DS-owning friends, I probably wouldn't be bothering with the 3DS version at all, honestly. Online is cool and all, but local multiplayer just can't be beat.

You're just making predictions, not making an actual tier list. I'm talking about those people who want serious tier lists or want to make serious tier lists early.

I guess I could see the argument that it could stifle development of less straightforward characters. I don't think most people are dumb enough to look at a tier list, then never put any time into other characters though...

It's normal cycle for all new fighting games. Many people are trying to make early tier list for some reason, I guess they want to says, I CALLED IT FIRST or something like that. I'm pretty much used to it.

Yeah those people don't understand what tiers are and just want a "HEY WHO'S GOOD IN THIS GAME AND WHO'S GARBAGE" and don't understand that it takes awhile to figure that shit out. They're also not usually the people that tier lists would even apply to.
Megaman is definitely not bad.
I do think at the end of everything he might end up being near the bottom just relative to the other characters though. I agree with the rest of your points though...at this point at the game's very early life, I don't think Bowser/Little Mac are that high up.theprodigy

When people make tier lists, they know tier S and above is reserved for actually degenerate characters with positive match-ups across the board right and isn't a synonym for "really good" right?
On a side note I think Wii Fit Trainer is the only character I've NEVER seen on stream. Do people not like her? Is she not fun to play with? Mega Man-esque awkward? Especially bad?

She can't do two super missiles anymore (the second one fails). Her nair seems okay, but is nowhere near as good as her old Nair. Up B is a finisher. Seems below average to me.

Seriously though, it's because I'm pretty sure there's a lot of untapped potential with Shulk. Like you said, not many people have put him to use and once someone does we may start to see a lot of interesting things come out of him. At the very least, I know I'm gonna use him a lot.
