Been any solid confirmation on Xbox one yet? Last I heard was either 1080/30 or 900/30

You've heard incorrectly because there has been absolutely no word from any official or reputable source on the matter. It could end up being one of those or something else; who knows.

I'm torn between a PS4 or a new card (970). Might end up doing both cause Steam is just great!

I recommend the 970 but if you have the money, refer to the above picture.

People that were playing the xbox
One version said those things

Well they wouldn't be able to pinpoint the resolution except being native or sub-native unless they're pixel counting. And the fact that one person says it's 30fps and another says 60fps just affirms how little we know.

Nobody, from what I have seen, has said the Xbox one version is 60 though. Was there a streamer that said that?

The frames are really the only thing I care about, not so much the res

Oh,sorry, I thought you said 1080p 30fps or 900p 60fps. But yeah, who knows. I wish we could get confirmation for both game, though at least we know the PS version is 1080p and have a couple of people say it seems to be 60. But still no confirmation on that one either.

I'm wondering whether to get this on the PS4 or PC.

My PC specs are:

i7 2600 OC'd 4.4 ghz
780 Ti Classified
16 GB memory.

I'm thinking PS4 since I know I won't be able to run the game at ultra textures which I heard the PS4 version has, but also the exclusive DLC the PS4 is getting.

I'm trying to decide too. I'm afraid my rig is too old even run this on medium :/

i5 2500k
GTX 580 1.5gbvram
16gb Memory

Anyone have any info how this game looks on medium/low on PC? I think I'll probably have to go ps4

Isn't Ultra Textures exclusive to PC's?

Pretty great on any PC. But the ultra texture pack is worth it.

Has anyone got their hands on the PC release yet (retail, reviews, do any countries have this out yet) and have reported on how it runs?

I'm happy to purchase + pre load it but I'm just not sure of performance/port. I know my rig will be able to run it well just not sure of the port.

This is a parody post, right? Your PC will chew this game up and spit it out, more or less, depending on how crazy you push custom settings. Ultra textures won't be an issue.

Edit: Ah, wasn't aware about the ultra textures requiring 6GB of GDDR. Still, I've rarely hit that bottleneck regardless of texture settings on 2GB. Most of the times, these requirements are set to have plenty of headroom, though the game might of course have completely insane texture quality as well.

Odd position to take by them. Yours is a position that should be commended my friend. The open-mindedness needed amongst the Tolkien community around the world.

I don't have any problems with the game, it's not trying to tell the same story as the books... It's a fun side story....
The last hobbit movie however..... Let's leave that for a different thread

Uhh... no? He has 16gb of SYSTEM ram. The ultra textures require 6gb of VIDEO ram, which he only has 1.5gb of. He can run it but not at max.

I would personally go with the PS4 version if you can. I had a 580 until just recently, and it is really starting to show it's age. The amount of VRAM on it is starting to get to the minimum required range. Based on the recommended specs and my experience with the 580, you'll probably be able to get medium-high settings with low to medium textures depending on which effects you prioritize. Either way I would bet on the PS4 version looking and running better.

Joke post?

Na not a joke post, I tried playing Watch dogs on this rig and could only do medium/low, that 2gb vram requirement killed the game for me (probably doesn't help that I run 2 24" monitors off the card at 1920x1200. I'm guessing you guys haven't seem the recommended vram requirements for Ultra (6gb), High (3gb), Medium (2gb) and Low (1gb).

Yeah that's what I'm leaning toward too

calling it now ps4 1080p 60fps but not locked, ign said the time it dipped a little bit was when you possess an orc so i figure an fps 0f 50-60, lowest maybe 45. Xone 900p 60fps unlocked with dips as well, maybe even a few more.

I was reading my game informer and I found an interesting sidepiece about how they were influenced by scenes from the movies. Monolith cited the following three moments as impactful to ideas presented in Shadow of Mordor.

Aragorn and Lurtz
The vicious orc scout named Lurtz is a terrifying foe who murders Boromir. Afterwards, Aragorn offers no quarter to the creature-- the fight echoes the duels we see between Talion and the powerful Uruks of Mordor.

Dark Galadriel
When Frodo offers the ring to Galadriel, we see a brief glimpse of the duality of her nature, and the awful power she could wield. This Duality is central to the presentation of Talion, the protagonist of the new game.

The Orcs of Cirith Ungol
When Frodo is captured by orcs, Sam pursues into the dark recesses of the Tower of Cirith Ungol, and there finds that the orcs have fallen to savage-in-fighting. Similarly, your enemies in Shadow of Mordor are often their own worst enemies, and Talion can capitalize on their evil and duplicitous natures.
