You know what really bothers me about the car? So much aliasing. It makes it feel kinda cheap, especially from those close up angles. >_<

Is MP going to recharge over time? Don't see how else defend/evade is gonna work if it consumes MP.

I don't think he said specifically, but I would guess so. It might not even end up being "MP" but something similar to it, so maybe a stamina bar or something. It's not part of the UI at the moment, so they're clearly still tweaking lots of things.

Considering the push they're having for FFXV right now, I wouldn't be surprised if the game is actually playable at Jump Festa this year. It would be a good time to give the public a taste of what the demo might offer before it hits in March.

What we've learned about the battle system today:

- There's at least an attack button, a defend button, a skill button, and a jump button.
- Holding defend to evade drains MP, doesn't last forever.
- The attack button is used for basic combos, weapons used are context driven based on equipped weapons and context settings the player selects.
- The skill button is used to do special attacks for the main weapon equipped.
- There will be advanced evasion and attack techniques depending on equipment and control input.
- You can use the sword barrier defensively in battle, you can do short warps in the battlefield, you can parry attacks.
- There will be lots of tactical aspects in battle for core games, like elemental weaknesses and so on.
- Noctis is the only playable character, but his unique combat style and how the party interacts with him in battles is what drives the entire battle system.


I'll say that's a pretty great haul of information considering the confusion the interviews left most people post-TGS. They addressed stuff in a really timely manner too. The "casual" backlash definitely seems to have motivated Tabata to come forward and clear things up I think.

Still not sure about holding a button to combo, but this is sounding pretty good otherwise.

I'd wager it's something similar to KH. Ethers & other items that restore it (maybe one of the shoulder buttons opens up an items-shortcut menu or you use them from the D-Pad) and attacking/getting hit will also restore it slowly, and maybe it also recharges slowly in due time..

I'd wager it's something similar to KH. Ethers & other items that restore it (maybe one of the shoulder buttons opens up an items-shortcut menu or you use them from the D-Pad) and attacking/getting hit will also restore it slowly, and maybe it also recharges slowly in due time..

Yeah sounds about right.

only thing he needs to adress now really, is other types of magic, and how that'll work during battles, summons as well
 
I actually liked the gambit system, and how it turned into its own treasure hunt through XII, so that I do not mind at all. Could be interesting with this type of automated combat system

Any word on Summons?
