From the New World Ep. 12

Interesting episode.
The flashback sequence of the fiend made me think about Blood-C. With students being violently massacred it's hard not to.
Does a good job of giving more insight into the ideology of the society's government. I'm not all that familiar with Japanese society but I assume there are some parallels to serve as commentary. There's definitely something to take away from this in terms of gender roles.
The example of a Fiend was a boy while the Karma Demon was a girl. The head of the Ethics Committee mentioned that Fiends are more likely to be boys. Implicitly, Karma Demons are more more likely to be girls. I could be drawing the wrong conclusion, though. In the context of the real world, boys and men are far, far more likely to be the ones that go on violent rampages much like a Fiend in the show. I'm not sure how Karma Demons translate to the real world, especially with the implications of dangerous girls/women poisoning their environments and unintentionally killing people. Though I'm not sure what to take away from Shun having been a Karma Demon.

It's also interesting that women head both of the two (and only?) most powerful governmental organizations shown.

I live in a world where I can watch a merman leisurely soaking in a bath tub and not Darling waking up to find a lamia hugging him in his bed.

I want off this planet.

at least its a merman in a Pink bath.

Pretty fun. Kinda upset that saving a life led to the usual "misunderstanding," though. Can't wait to see whatever super secret dark past he's forgotten though.

Yeah, it wasn't something I expected at all either. It gave Sawaki a bit of time to grow on his own, I guess. I really need to rewatch it at some point; I'd love if some company actually brought the BD-box over, but who knows how likely that is.

All the more reason to watch the live action adaptation!

This is the point where you really start understanding why the society has to be built this way. Needs of the many. Just one mistake would be potentially disastrous.

Parasyte 1

That's an.. interesting choice for an OP. Autotuned metalcore?

Stil, glad to see that it was adapted well.

Hi school Sega Girls ! - 01

This ...was actually good ?

SEGAAAAAAA

i like the references , i like the 3 girls ..it's too bad master system isn't part of the cast , the rules are simple and it's quite fun so far.

I quite liked that track used during the night scene in the first half of Parasyte. It's just the dubstep in the second half that was off-putting to me.

Hopefully this won't be a problem if I post since I'm offering full disclosure, but I'm a part of the team working on the North American re-release of Lupin the Third: Castle of Cagliostro, and we're just trying to get people's opinions on the art for the DVD/BD discs themselves. Just vote for whichever one you like best. :)

Hi school Sega Girls ! - 01

Wait, wait...this is a thing? Color me curious!

EDIT: So is it like Hyperdimension Neptunia but actually specific on which character is which console? Also, is Neptunia really any good in any of its incarnations? I've always wondered...

This is indeed one of the stronger episodes along with episode 19 and 21 (I believe). But your impressions of each episode almost mirror mine from earlier this year.

Option 1!

Option 1!

Be sure to vote at the strawpoll link! :D

I'm personally torn between the mixed-color options and the same-color options. I feel the same-color ones are better since it's supposed to "be" the ring, so it "belongs" better in the picture as a whole, but I like how the mismatched colors really make the logo pop.

What's the other big twist? Hans' heel turn?

It's funny, the Mulvey stuff took so long to get through that I didn't even touch on representation at all. But representation in a broader sense is much easier to figure out on your own at least. lol

Ah,okay. Yeah, I was referring to the prince. That actually reminds me now of the guy whose name is something like "wise-el" but they pronounce it more like weasel. Just combined somewhat with his demeanor and I guess they want you to originally think he's an antagonist. I think the film maybe forgot about him for a bit though? I personally actually don't recall, haha.

Thanks in advance, Anime-GAF!.

Voted for option 3 because I love classy black.

Eh I removed it because it could be taken the wrong way (point proven), even if I was only saying I love the character. Probably seen worst since I removed it, but it had little to do with anime anyways.

I've never played the games (always heard mixed reviews on those). All I've seen is the anime, but I loved what I saw of it. It had a good sense of humor and got me surprisingly emotional at one point. Though I'm biased towards transforming girls in general.
