Alright, how many people got spoiled on the end of Frozen there? Haha.

I suppose for me I was kind of 50/50 or 60/40. I wondered if they would have gone the route they ultimately didn't because of some societal or narrative norms. On the other hand I was thinking they would go the route they did because of all the themes in the movie. That or some might argue even the whole point of the movie.

I guess it could of been because of the very themes of the movie which allowed them to maybe subvert some audience members expectations. It's kind of funny though how the movie handles this "twist" compared to the other big "twist". This first one, to some maybe as we say, perhaps subverts expectations but the other almost goes out of its way to conform to narrative norms. Ultimately it hurts the film a little in my opinion and that opinion seems to be shared by many others.
What's the other big twist? Hans' heel turn?

It's funny, the Mulvey stuff took so long to get through that I didn't even touch on representation at all. But representation in a broader sense is much easier to figure out on your own at least. lol

It reminded me of your post the one time about Ghibli's The Borrower Arietty. There's the Aunt I think it was and the film kind of made it that she was a villian or antagonist more just for the sake of having an antagonist. Like it felt it had to fulfill some narrative checklist somewhat to the detriment of the story or film.
Oh yes, having some kind of artificial conflict at the end for the sake of a final act problem to be solved. It just seemed very cartooney... like, well, what the witch from Snow White was before Malificent came out.

Sakura in her heaven.

Looks like they're going to adapt the beach arc in the OVAs.

This is alright so far. The eyes portrait puzzle part in particular was weird, funny and unsettling. Arashiyama's voice is grating but I think I'm getting used to it now.

I don't know where does Japanese fascination with maids come from. Those outfits are terribad.

Gundam Build Fighters Try Episode 01

It was an episode of Build Fighters. It was filled with Gundam fanservice and cool action. Everything is great in the world.

I am satisfied.

GUNDAM BUILD FIGHTERS TRY Episode 1:

So here we are, back to the Gunpla matches, our opening salvo starts out pretty solidly, if not predictably. Pretty standard introduction episode establishing the new characters, the changed setting, the new stakes and so on and so forth. The production values have not missed a beat, unlike Log Horizon Season 2, and also unlike that horrible mess of refuse that is called G-Reco the editing, story-boarding and fight choreography are not utter tripe 30 years out of time. On the down side this episode does take a little too long to get going and there really isn't excuse for redoubling on the fundamentals of Gunpla battles, this is season 2, we have an entire season worth in the can. Yes, already one of the best debut episodes of the Fall 2014 season and
I like forward to seeing the first Gunpla Trios match.

Back and as good as ever. It had everything I loved from the first season. Exciting battles, a rocking soundtrack, sudden unexplained appearances of Ral-san and a fun and interesting cast of characters. I was extremely impressed by how well they were able to establish both Sekai and Fumina in the first episode, they seem like they'll bring a lot of excitement and energy to the show. I could see them being more interesting than the original duo. Also I will be extremely disappointed if Sekai's master isn't an alternate universe version of Master Asia, The Undefeated of the East!

It was everything I want, and better than everything I expected for the intro episode of the new season.

After the opening it took a bit of time to get going again, but once it did, it was the GBF we know and love. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic develops between the new cast.

The Seven Deadly Molesters - Episode 1

It's a pretty colorful show, it's fast paced, and we seem to be getting a ton of swords and sorcery fantasy shows this season. Unfortunately it's also filled with the shounen action trope of "innocent sexual harassment" which is a bane on the genre. I think the show is interesting enough to appeal to an audience looking for fun action and adventure without needing this sort of crap. There's nothing funny or interesting about watching a young guy molest someone he doesn't know over and over just to "confirm" that she's indeed female. It's just gross.

Putting that aside (and it's pretty hard to put aside honestly), the show seems to be on the ridiculous end of the fantasy power spectrum, which could make for some fun fights if they escalate it further. The first episode already has a guy who could destroy an entire forest with a single sword swipe, and it seems like he's just a scrub in this world. Lol. There's also a talking pig, and a giant CG pig which acts as a mobile fortress. Yeah, I dunno.

Will keep watching if the molest stops. Will drop if the molest continues.

I think the blu-ray extra "Irisveil consultation room" kinda confirm this in its last eps, with Iri talking about felt betrayed

I think with both knows the process she needing to throw her own lives too anyway.. so Kerry cut the whole deal half way is betrayal for her willingness and trust to Kerry or at least that's how I see it.. but yeah its not just merely illusion.

He slept with Maiya so that when the time comes he wouldn't hesitate when "Betraying" Iri (that's what Uro actually said).

Iri honestly didn't care too much about Kerry's ideal beyond the fact Kerry cared, she just didn't want her sacrifice to be in vain and she wanted her daughter to be happy. Sadly none of those things came about..

Ral is everywhere. Didn't expected that
Build Burning is inside Dom. How the heck it's being built by the builder.
I guess Build Burning is Sei's memento but for whom it is intended for?

Based on the manga, I can answer that last one:
it doesn't stop

The only Gundam series I've seen, and probably ever will see. Enjoyable first episode, the new cast has a lot of potential. Fumina's pretty great, and as far as Yuuma (Uchida) goes, he didn't have a whole lot of lines, but it's always nice to see him starting to get into the same business as his sister. Once again, I'll likely miss all but the most obvious Gundam references, though that's not a huge deterrent. It certainly wasn't the first time.

You can always look stuff up on TVTropes or the Gundam WIki.

Early days but I think I might like the new characters, at least Fumina and Sekei, more than Sei and Reiji.

And it's one of many reasons why the manga is great. Keep them old school DB tropes!

I dunno, it really didn't work here in Seven Deadly Sins as the MC is much more world wary. Goku got away with it because he was a kid living in isolation a legitimately did not understand how much of the work functioned.

Gundam Build Fighters TRY 1

Here we go!

Just caught up with Season 1 the other day and loved it. Overall, a very solid first episode that was mostly similar to last season's, mostly by setting up the characters. I like Sekai, but hope he evolves past being Reiji MkII. Although his martial arts background (his master better be Mao I don't care.) and his big sister go a long way in doing that.

Also, Ral returned

God's in His heaven, all's right with the world

Tribe Cool Crew - Episode 1

This show is surprisingly energetic and conveys the tone of dance really well. It's a bit odd how there are like 50 eyecatches during the episode though. It breaks the pace up and makes it feel like a series of 4koma shorts, but at the same time it's a very linear narrative. I really like how bold the colors are, how fluid a lot of the movement is - both 2D and 3D, and the characters are pretty natural. The designs are really unique too, giving the show a really distinctive look. I was originally planning on checking out just a single episode, but I think I'll watch more of it just to see where things go.

---

Mysterious Joker - Episode 1

This is a much more conventional kids show, but it isn't half bad either. They packed a lot of gags into a single episode, and as a kiddie version of Lupin it's somewhat entertaining. It's nice to see oldschool 2D animated vehicles which don't really conform to mechanical style designs too. Overall though, I don't think I'll be continuing with the series because it seems way too conventional and episodic. There's way too much to watch this season as it is. If there are interesting episodes along the way I'll probably check them out, but it's not something that catches my attention enough for regular viewing. I don't regret checking it out though!

After all these years he's still wearing those shades. Well, at least he knows when to put them on and when not to.

Overall pretty fun episode and reintroduction. It's pretty obvious who our main team is going to be since they both have unnaturally colored hair.
And yes I mean both in that Hoshino is fulfilling a mentor lead for now and after that.. I feel as if she'll be thrown to the side.

Now, the only question is how Ral is just this omnipresent being showing up in people's schools just in time to see that fight. It was like this last season, and here he is doing it again.

I'm surprised the guys behind gdgd Fairies have gotten several TV series, including two this season. The one CR picked up (SeHa Girls, which I can thank playing Sonic Racing Transformed for helping me get a little better.) and the one they didn't (Narihero www, which also looks weird, if more superhero-focused.)

Amagi Brilliant Park 1

I liked this. I didnt know anything about this show going in, even with the screenshots but it sounds interesting. Nice character designs and Bonta Kun is a plus. I just love KyoAnis art style.

Melodias is more Roshi or Oolong than Goku.

Sometimes I wonder is it because of their editors?

Editor: "Nice action and concept, how about adding some boob grabbing? Those horny little fuckers will lap it up!!"

I would agree with you expect he did the extended grouping to confirm that Elizabeth was female, that is something Goku would do. Mind you I can only base this off what was shown in episode 1.

Okay, I knew this was going to be bad but I wasn't expecting awful chibi models and awful GCI. Fuck this, this isn't SEGAGAGA, THIS is SEGAGAGA and it was glorious.

GBF back saving anime again all is right in this world, were kinda worried the new cast are inferior from Sei and Reiji, but this Sekai dude is had bigger potential and look can carry the show, and already show can bring chemistry in interaction.. only the glasses dude that still looked like he hate fun.

That delayed "Kyaa~" by Sento near the end of the episode was great. Thought it was a pretty good first episode.

Was originally worried that this wasn't going to be so good since it's based on a card game, but those fears have definitely been shattered.

That's not a very appealing character trait.

Well no, I don't disagree! The series feels like it's hugely influenced by Toriyama so it's no surprise to see that sort of juvenile humour. At least it's only limited to one character (unlike Dragon Ball), just a shame it's the main one.

this and trinity seven one was quite hillarious.
Talking about trinity seven, turns out that Mr Sora from NGNL is also doing the Arata. I knew he sounded familiar.

Oh hey, they got Master Asia to voice the Headmaster/School principal.

Great episode, like the show never left.

Oh, this reminds me.

Blue Blazes - 1-11 [End]
If you're into animation or you just want a good time, I definitely recommend this. I don't usually watch foreign live-action stuff (read: never), but I would at least look into it. Though I think /XX/ mentioned something about a better version of it coming out or something?
I believe he mentioned there will be extra episodes and some director's cut.

Reiji and Aila's kids turned out so well. They probably got divorced, it was inevitable.
The main girl looks like she has Sei's face... China's brother looks like Sei too. There was another character that also had the same face... Sei is spiritually everywhere #goodcharacterdesign

Likable characters? Check.

Glorious 2D Gundam action? Check.

G-Gundam homages? Check.

Yeah, I think we're gonna be just fine with this second season.
