Super Smash Bros. for 3DS |OT3| Little Mac and Cheese

This game's online suddenly became a massive pain for me overnight.

Since launch I was able to play 1v1 with little to no lag on a consistent basis until an internet outage in the area earlier this week. Since then it's been fixed, but my modem was still having an issue or two so I got it replaced, along with getting a new router.

Even though I have a fully working modem and an improved router with slightly faster internet speed than before the outage happened, this game's online connection suddenly took a nosedive for me. Half of my 1v1 matches are full of lag with almost constant errors.

I have no idea why my game's online connection is suddenly terrible when everything on my end is actually better now than it was before the outage ever happened. If anyone has any ideas, I'd greatly appreciate the input.

Link got killed by a mechakoopa while trying to charge an arrow and then I hopped over Jigglypuff's suicide rollout, lol.

It's on nintendo servers or the fact the match making putting you with some across the world or shitty connection.

I do run > grab > turn, to get pivots. the gap between grabbing and turning is often so small it's almost a simultaneous input but I get a pivot every time with that method :3

Awww. well, it was good seeing you rep old man ganon anyhoo. Your vibe might not have survived but you did good anyhoo :3
~hug~

;3

Thanks :)

It was a bit BS how I got knocked out off stream though. I'm a bit salty. The guy had just got there and he took the place of someone else who had to go early. So the number 2 seed guy just shows up in my loser's bracket against me last minute -_-

As a fellow Mac user, I feel your pain. :/ A few tips:

- It's always safer to recover low than high. If you're faced with a wall of projectile spam, it's almost always a better option to recover from beneath the stage.
- Try to anticipate G&W's DAir. Use that end lag to your advantage and punish accordingly.
- Resist the temptation to approach with your dash attack and instead try applying pressure with a spaced FTilt instead. (It also eats through G&W's 2D fried food!)

Finished all the challenges. Used hammers on the 50 hours of Smash, getting all the costumes and abilities, and getting all the smash run powers. Last one I got before those was 1,000 KO's. Thought about just slowly grinding at that normally but I was still farther off on that than I thought (was at 700) so I just cheesed it setting AI to 300% and doing 99 lives.

I guess I can accept the fact that Rosalina vs. Ness is unfair, since Ness vs. Little Mac is nowhere near fair.

Forward throw at the ledge + fAir is pretty much an instant KO.

Played my first Puff online last night, surprised it took so long to see one. They self destructed both stocks immediately, I can only assume it's because I picked Mac.

Why are some people still acting like Mac is such a problem that they won't even face him?

This is generally what happens when a game that's played by differing levels of skill + preferred style of play mix and match. You'll likely to get someone who is incredibly casual towards the game who wanted to just play some 1v1 for fun and when they encounter Little Mac, they've lost a dozen of times already to Macs so they quit because it's "not fun" to fight Mac and learn how to beat him.

People who don't take the time to learn aren't looking to waste their time with a character that has the notoriety Little Mac has (even though time and time again people have been telling others how to beat him...)

It's just the way things go for more casual players. You'd have to explicitly show them how to beat Mac.

Or, who knows, you could have also been playing against a young kid (anywhere from 8-12) who, no matter what, wouldn't take the time to learn how to beat Mac and just SD and get out asap.

Over the 60 hour mark and I'm not sure if I'm going to 100% this game as I have with the 3 previous Smash Bros. games. I haven't used a hammer yet and have 4 challenges left. Curiously, one of them is the walk 31 miles challenge, which I'm not sure how I haven't gotten yet as I'm 60 hours in and have done Classic/All-Star/Smash Run, etc. with all characters and then some. The other 3 are collect all Smash Run powers, play for 50 hours and collect all Mii stuff, which I'll probably just use hammers on. I'm also sitting on 630 trophies, and I don't know if I grind Classic/Smash Run/Trophy Rush for another 20-30 hours to get the remaining trophies.

Shit wrong thread lol.

Anyways, the trick to get headgear seems to be facing the series for the headgear. I've gotten Captain Falcon's Helmet 2 times (separate times) after beating falcon 1v1 in Classic.

Fair enough. I have a lot of people who self-destruct online, and I don't know if it's just me. It's not even if I'm playing Mac.

I was playing one guy who self-destructed as soon as he saw me playing as Mac, but stuck around to pick a new character. He chose Robin (then did the same thing next fight as Rosalina). He was whooping me pretty good with Robin, got me near 100% when I finally caught on and started knocking him around. I got him over 100% before he could hit me again and then he just broke from one of my combos and double self-destructed. He did the same thing after switching to Rosalina after I got one stock off him he just killed himself for the other.

I figured maybe he just is giving up because of Mac (even though he was really kicking the crap out of me for a bit). I switched to Ganondorf and he acted in the exact same way.

I wish I could say this is an isolated example but I get crap like this constantly online. Most people don't seem to want to put up a fight and play out the match, even when they are mostly doing really well.

DDD's angels

Lucina is the uptight one, ZSS is the cool irresponsible one, Jigglypuff is the comic relief ditz one

DDD is the perverted old man who sends them out on missions

Anyone around for a few matches? 1v1 no items etc? Code is in profile.

Since I'm 15th on reserves in the tourney and therefore probably won't make it in, maybe some of you who are participating in it could fight me for warm-ups before your actual matches. They could be like what-if matches, since I could've been your opponent for real lol.

Anyone want to play some matches? The matchmaking is fucking unplayable in this game, no idea why they keep matching me up with connections this bad. Really turns me off from the game. I could stand it for a few weeks because I was damn hyped for the game, and once you find a good connection you're good. But the amount of bad connections it gives you before that just grates on you after a while.

Today I'm getting laggy matches as well and I barely have the will to put up a good fight.

I can't play now sorry. Got house work to do while potty training my kid.

Edit: Double Post! I don't know how that happened! I swear Hatchtag posted after my last Dedede post!

Beating that Rival Smash challenge took so long... at last now I think I have some decent mastery of Pac-Man's side B.

Up for some 1v1 FG games if anyone's interested. FC is 1762 3009 5860.

I've gone 3 for 3 when it comes to gaffers and near-flawless connections. Want to do 1v1 no items? Code in profile.
