GTA: San Andreas confirmed for Xbox 360

I'll need to see how much it's improved and where. I've put around 300 hours into the XBL Classics version. But it is far from pretty.

Better looking version of it would be awesome. Though if it really is missing a ton of tracks, especially the songs missing from the mobile version, it won't quite be the same game I fell for.

Off topic, but out of curiosity how far did you get using touch controls? I made it to Las Venturas on iPad, then gave up after failing Flight School 5 times in a row.

I'm still in Los Santos, haven't played the game that much lately. Although the game runs and looks fantastic on my Nexus 4 and I'm having a blast so far, the controls are a pain to use. Maybe it would be better to play on a tablet?

It is fun for sure. One of my favorite things about replaying it on iPad was the custom radio station. I never had the opportunity to do that when I originally played it. Though the original radio stations in SA are great as is.

The HD port we were all waiting for, only 4/5 years late!

I still don't care though, Vice City on the other hand...

Until it appears in the R* Newswire, I'm holding my breath about it being X360 exclusive.

Regardless, I'll buy yet another copy of SA.

NOW BRING THE PS1 CLASSICS TO THE US ALREADY.

this game is one of my all time favourites.

One of my all time favourites.

If you are interested, to help celebrate the 10th anniversary Rockstar are giving away a custom San Andreas iPad Mini 3 and ten San Andreas prize packs filled with collectibles from their San Andreas Collection at the Rockstar Warehouse.

EDIT: According to Polygon, it will cost 14.99$.

GTA: San Andreas will be sold as a Games on Demand title on Xbox 360 for $14.99.

For you.
Updated version definitely coming to PC too. (has a private beta branch with things like widescreen native support and the like, and it was recently removed from the store)

I'll get it for PC. I played it so many times and the lack of controller support pisses me off. I found a way to use my 360 controller, but to use the gas it is the Left Trigger. I use the mouse for shooting and the controller for driving. Best of both worlds.

It's probably also coming to PC.

As of yesterday/today, you can't purchase GTA San Andreas anymore on Steam. There is no purchase button: http://store.steampowered.com/app/12120/

Yeah seems to be the case. All the beta activity seems to have occurred for the original app though. Ideally I'd want them to just update the old game for those who have it, but it's more likely that they will charge for it. If that is the case, I'd hope there is a significant discount for previous owners. Otherwise, might as well just stick with the mods

I might get it if it controls like the modern games. I really WANT to get into SA, but the controls on PC are just plain awful. I can never set it up so it feels right.

The game came out when every controller was Dinput, so if you're using an Xinput controller (360 or bone), then that's why. If you have a PS4 then try that controller WITHOUT third party drivers and it should be perfect.
Or just wait for this new port. :p

Honestly I don't think the game has aged that badly, I played through the Xbox version on my 360 and although at first it seemed outdated after a while I got used to most of it and the only two problems I had were the shooting (which is fucking terrible) and no checkpoints during missions.

360?
Am I reading the news right?

Yes, tomorrow. BUT - I wouldn't be surprised if there is a PS4 version exclusive to the gen of consoles or some other silly marketing thing in the works because... well that's how it always is with these companies.

PC is practically confirmed as it is now pulled from the Steam store and has shown plenty of beta depot work via steamdb. It won't be out tomorrow though as Steam don't do weekend releases. So it would have to be Monday or onwards.

You can't buy it anymore.

You can't buy it right now.

Ooh I see, well that explains it and my bad guess I didnt notice cause I have it already XD.

So does this mean we get a new version....or do we have to buy the new version ;O?

Sorry.. When I say pulled from the steam store, I mean you can't buy it. As usual, if you already bought it, you still have it

No worries lol.

No worries lol.

That I want to know. I already have the gimped version, it would suck if I had to buy the new one just to have proper controls.

Yep. But I think the game normally goes for about 14.99 anyway, it's just on sale.

Oh, if that's the case, yeah. I mean, I'd buy it at $15, I just thought it was lowered, didn't know it was a sale.

Microsoft turns up with truck loads of money at Rockstar.

"Can we have GTAV Xbox One timed exclusive?"

Rockstar "No"

Microsoft "Since we are here, what else you got?"

Rockstar "Hmmm, San Andreas...H..D"

Microsoft "We'll take it, here is some money, think of us next time GTA6 /wink wink"

Rockstar "Suuuure!"

Door closes.

Rockstar "LOL"

I do not think MS would pay money for game exclusives on their last console. They want people to buy XB1.

I dunno, my PC version doesn't even support dual analog. I hate GTA PC versions, they all fuckin blow. Source:

I played San Andreas at the end of last year just fine, widescreen takes like a minute to mod in and I personally prefer mouse and keyboard controls for 99% of the game, there is a mod to add xinput support anyway for the few things that actually benefit from it like the flying missions.

If so it would be the first heist that rockstar has done in over a year.

Seems the MS moneyhats wasn't enough for an Xbox One version, if its 360 only. That or Sony signed a bigger deal with Rockstar for a GTA V and VI bundle with GTA SA and/or Vice City for it. The moneyhats wars has just begun.

I just want an idea when this is dropping.

If it's, like, next week I'll wait but if it's in a couple months, I wanted to replay it, so I'll probably just play the XBLA version.

This is what we're hoping but I dunno. I'm not sure the original date we were given via the IGN article was speculation or from Rockstar themselves... Hoping I can wake up and download it lol

Maybe in America, but it's not looking likely that the UK msrketplace is getting updated with this game today.

The latter.
