How...how can I do this? :O I can't paint, which I assume is what it is, but how is stuff like Villager and Pikachu done? It doesn't look like you can just place them on and have that stuff stay...? And where did the axe and hat come from?

Do you think anyone will sell fan made alt colors? I need someone to make Fire Alt for Mario. I'd buy that for...atleast a somewhat higher price depending on quality and price. These look really cool.

Would be crazy if amiibos become the 'thing' that saves the WiiU (ala Wii Sports / Will Fit for Wii, or Brain Age / Nintendogs for NDS etc)

Otherwise I would agree it's very disappointing they can't be used as a partner for Classic and All Star. The AI can navigate stages like The Great Cave Offensive + it works in Smash Run on 3DS, so I can't imagine why the AI cannot be adapted to fight the Hands or cope with Master Fortress.

I'd really like to see that support in a future update. I like how Classic works in the Wii U version, it's a ton of fun in co-op with the large opponent count battles and random craziness that happens.

Yea, this was crushing finding this out, spending an hour just funding out what exactly I can do with them, as co-op was all I wanted. I'm probably gonna hit up Twitter, try to get some kind of answers.

It is indeed a Goodkind novel! Classic series. The infamous "gang rape" quote was terribly worded, but his point was spot on. Democracy is not and never will be an inherent good. He was trying to make a point (and did it terribly) that democracy can easily end up being about larger group deciding on what happens to the minority even against the minorities will, protest and consent (much like rape). It was a comment on how the "tyranny of the majority" can end up being a political rape on the minorities of a body politic.

Full quote for reference:

So, I have been feeding my Amiibo everything beneficial. Then I realized, some things were unique rewards. Did I screw myself over and will I never see that unique equipment again?

Hah, I knew a comment was coming too. I enjoyed the first novel, but then it was like reading a train wreck. I had to stop after the book that portrayed pacifists as evil and totally deserving of enslavement and death.

I always thought toys, if Amiibo is considered a toy, should be easy to be mass produced. I was proven wrong when I scoured stores for 2 weeks to buy an Elsa doll for my little cousin.

I've read Goodkind. Like all the way up to the novel where that city killed its leaders through fucking themselves to death with STD's.Further than anyone should read to find out if its really as dumb as the rumors make it out. Its pretty much "we can be together....oh wait no we can't!" the series. Everything is bad unless Richard does it...like killing kids. Also dude has some serious friggin dominatrix kinks. Richard just comes across as the mouthpiece for the author to justify hating various folks.

Sorry man but...no.

good thing i picked up a marth last night seeing as though people are having trouble finding him. i went to a walmart earlier in the day to pick up a tv, checked the amiibos section and they werent set up yet. went back later in the afternoon and it looks like they just finished putting them out with only three marths. i picked the one with the least derpiest eyes.

Your opinion of the books was not the issue. I don't really care what you think about the books. You're the one who brought up the quote. The quote isn't from the books. It's a real-life (poorly worded) statement Goodkind made about the dangers of the tyranny of a majority.

I think there was a 3 for 30 dollars deal in a toys r us ad? probably for black friday. otherwise TRU charges a dollar more than msrp for them.

at best buy with gcu they are 10.39 each.

that's it so far that i've seen.

I don't understand the complaint about use of amiibos in Smash. I mean, if you put an amiibo to play as the character it would be worthless since you can already customize characters in the game...

I'm not the saying the functionality is the best possible one, but making amiibos a way to transfer customized characters is a lot more lame than what they currently do.

Just accidentally bought smash + 12 amiibos. And then bought a double because apparently now I'm a collector and can't bring myself to open boxes. What have you done to me, Nintendo?

edit: aaaand now I've just ordered 2 shulks from game stop. Please help me.

Maybe this has been said before, but I was looking at my Peach amiibo, and at the little mark in her left hand. Out of curiosity I looked on the other side of her hand and discovered that it's the band of her ring! That's some crazy detail for something that doesn't matter in the slightest. Wow.

Now if only someone had noticed that Link's head was tilted down...

I really really hope that in the course of their PR bragging, Nintendo shares with us smash sales vs amiibo sales. I wonder if the attach rate will pass 1.

My local Wal-mart had about 8 or 9 of each today. If anyone in the Pittsburgh area is looking, the Greensburg Wal-mart was well stocked.
I only bought Marth since he's my main. Overall, the figure is really nice and his sword is not bent.

I keep getting lost in his dreamy eyes on the package :3.

Got my full Wave 1 from Amazon. The packaging is nice but I sure as hell don't intend to keep the figures there. You just can't enjoy them or their details through plastic packing.

I have to say as much as people were whining the quality actually seems pretty good. These zoomed in shots don't really give you the sense of how small some of these details really are. They also feel solid. It's nice for a physical object to have that density.
